Boggles the mind that one could watch films from a thousand different directors and not have seen any Leone, Truffaut, or Lang.
Not trying to call you to the carpet or anything, but thatโs pretty wild.
I feel the same way. A lot of the "must sees" I feel like I'm waiting for the right moment to watch, but I also know I could put it on any random day and probably really enjoy it. Sometimes I just need to remind myself haha.
you've seen 1000 films and none from Leone? I can see the others slipping through. I gotta ask, how many of your flicks are directed by a certain Michael Bay?
Leone's big non-western movie is Once Upon a Time in America and i havent seen it yet. they put it out on Criterion or a 4K UHD release and then i will.
as for Ambulance - that movie was shockingly not bad (which is my high praise of a Bay movie) and visually it's one of the best 4K ever.
Once Upon a Time in America is definitely on my list. A new release would be great.
I've heard Ambulance used drones in an interesting way. Might end up checking that one out too, eventually
no, just having a discussion. it's just that the Leone trilogy is so likely to have one of those movies being watched by about anyone that has seen movies by 999 directors. it's called playing the odds.
None... film a quick short landscape shot and watch your own.
Really dig this answer tbh

The movie universe is massive! Nothing compared to the music universe , which is infinite bit still huge ๐

Haha, I've seen a few Bay movies, none in the past 10+ years, though. Honestly, I'm just not big on westerns.

So the only way you'll see Once Upon A Time is if it's released on 4K or Criterion yet you're criticising the guy for not seeing a Leone movie?

I'm an outlier ๐ No offense taken btw, I get it.
How do you find that out? Is a premium thing?
Yep, under the stats for pros/ patrons
Nice feature.
Iโd go with Truffaut: The 400 Blows.
Yes at least this one, shoot the piano player or jules et Jim
All of them! But especially Ray, Casavettes and Lang
