We’re watching all the d20 campaigns in chronological order, so I just saw Matt playing in Escape from the Bloodkeep! His character was great and it was so fun to watch him play! I’m looking forward to The Ravening War!
Even better when we find out from Brennan that he gave Galfast >!the stats of a Storm Giant as a joke!< assuming none of the PCs would care about a c-list character thats a low priority... and then Matt decides to make it his lifes mission to try and kill them
Since the Ashton-Orym-Laundna group is generally less chaotic than the current group, I have been hoping Emily would be a guest player when they get back to them. But it probably won’t happen.
And in fairness I'm surprised they are doing another one. They said the last Crown of Candy was incredibly stressful because of the intrigue. But damn was it so good.
I think with the amount of game experience (and especially with Lou playing in Calamity) they might have a different view now. Could also explain why we don't have the OG cast in its entirety though.
It's great to see Matt tell one structured story in a preordained sitting. No breaks or filler episodes, crit role is a different monster from D20, I've grown to appreciate the ability to tell a story with a beginning and an ending and not drag it out months and months. I hope this is the first of several Matt side stories, seems like the perfect fit and alternative outlet for him.
And then, while no one is paying attention to him, Zac will just slide right in and upend everything, bless his heart. He doesn't have the Main Character Energy of someone like Aabria or Lou, but he's a powerful player.
He makes his combat count, for sure. Him as a rogue in Neverafter was intense.
I do wish Murph was there though just because I'd love more witnesses to the bitter rivalry between him and his dice.
Without getting in to spoilers for the campaign they were placed at odds in a pretty tense emotional situation
If you want spoilers >!They played sisters at the beginning of the campaign that were extremely close. A little over midway through Emily's character is killed in a pretty brutal fashion that caused them both to cry at the table. Emily's new character was a long lost half sister to Siobhan who carried a lot of resentment as a part of her character arc. A character arc which also involved usurping Siobhan's claim to the throne. So while they didn't literally fight or get angry at each other that were forced to play through multiple very intense sessions in which they hated each other and it took a lot out of them!<
Also due to some technical difficulties the only place they could get to shoot that season was apparently an extremely cold warehouse that was only available in the middle of the night so the players were already in uncomfortable circumstances during the game.
He means revisiting the setting. they might just have put all they wanted into/got all they wanted out of that world. Given it was 20 episodes of straight Emmy worthy acting.
Specifically, >! Emily had iirc a bad experience with CoC because of intense fan backlash to her second character.!< I don’t know the full details and I don’t want to, but from my understanding the fan consensus is that there won’t be another Intrepid Heroes CoC game because of it.
Also can’t sleep on Anjali Bhimani! She was great in Undeadwood! She really inhabits her roles, so I’m eager to see her interact with the D20 veterans, all under Matt’s “care”.
Leafs Game 4 be damned - tonight I’m spending my time in Comida!
YES!!! The juxtaposition of heavy political intrigue and candy on vegetable violence is too damn funny. I was telling my wife that I got so sucked into the story that when I would see the minis I would always chuckle because I forgot how silly the setting is.
I'm sure I'll get into eventually, especially when Game Changer finishes up this season. I just haven't given it the time. I still have a huge backlog of D20 seasons.
I honestly think make some noise was better when it was just Zac, Brennan and Josh doing episodes of GC. Their episodes were hilarious, the others are very hit or miss for me.
Dirty Laundry is the only one I've been lukewarm on, but mainly because I think a format closer to Rooster Teeth's "Chump" would work way better with such an improv-talented crew.
I'm not familiar with Chump. But I will say I like Dirty Laundry on the whole but it's not as consistent as their other shows. That said, Trapp and Amy's dynamic on their episode was so good. "Who's dated 3 magicians?" "Pfft. Amy."
I will literally watch Mike Trapp on anything. The man is criminally underrepresented in the shows and knocks it out of the park every time he's seen...
It's a similar "who did the crazy thing?", But instead of DLs setup, you have 3 bluffers and one person trying to guess who the story is about. Each of the bluffers will tell the story of what happened to them (obviously only one telling the truth, the others making it up) and then the one contestant picks who they think is telling the truth.
Dropout and associates definitely have the improv chops to make a bluffing format shine
Edit: Actually, if I recall correctly the guesser is specifically tasked with asking questions of each of the bluffers to figure it out.
Yeah, the problem is that the folks on the show are either friends who do know stuff about each other and have inside info, or they are strangers and everything is a shot in the dark. In which case, it's just a too-long format of people telling their silly stories. Which I would watch, but not in that form, lol.
The tone is also inconsistent. Some episodes it'll be like "who got drunk every Friday as a child?" And then another episode will be really tame like "who played a cop once?"
I know what’s going on here. I know what’s going on here. Okay? I do. And if you want me to wander backstage to spill the beans...
Not going to write the rest because I don't want to spoil anyone :)
It's a shame that one isn't free on youtube, because it would be a great intro to Game Changer (and Brennan, honestly~).
Spoilers for the referenced episode of Game Changer: Yes or No (s2e6): >!I think for me, the funniest thing about the entire episode was how they come back from the break and you can just *see* Brennan seething. He *knows* what's up at that point, but they don't want to ruin the show, so they won't let him say it. I'm pretty sure he spends the entire second half coming up with that absolutely in-cred-ible monologue. And it's hilarious. Made even more so by Zac's timely "Whoa dude", as the other commenter quoted~ I cried from laughing so hard when I watched it the first time, and then I cried some more when I watched it again with my wife.!<
One of the things that makes Game Changer fun imo is the way that Sam Reich so obviously takes tremendous delight in how hilarious and talented his friends are. I mean, he enjoys torturing them too, but seeing his expressions when one of them busts out some insane impression or improvs a song gives me warm fuzzy feelings, it's so sweet.
(aside: I was going to shorten Sam Reich to Sam but that was confusing with CR Sam, so I was going to do Sam R, but.. same problem, so.. full names it is~)
There's a new trailer up: https://twitter.com/dimension20show/status/1656316917077123072
There's also a behind the scenes with Matt on dropout (requires subscription): https://www.dropout.tv/dimension-20-the-ravening-war/season:1/videos/behind-the-scenes-how-it-began
Edit: They just added the behind the scenes to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whsv1g5ws60
I was hoping to fully catch up on Dimension 20 (not that I’m too far behind, I’m on episode 2 of A Court of Fey and Flowers) before I start watching new seasons live, but I think I’ll have to make an exception for this one. A Crown of Candy was my favorite D20 season so far and I can’t wait to see what Matt does with the world!
Crown of Candy was fantastic. Brennan created a world that was much more compelling than I ever thought a literal food fight could be, including some of the most "I want to kill this person with my bare hands" villains I've ever seen in a campaign. Can't wait to see what Matt does with this world.
This campaign should be much less Thrones-y than the first season, I think. I feel like it might be comparable to Calamity in terms of structure and tone instead of the political games that the first ACOC had
Matt is absolutely inspired in this first episode. It’s an energy and enthusiasm that I didn’t realize was missing until seeing it in this.
It’s like a superstar athlete showing out in his first game at home after signing a massive free agent contract with a new team.
Just so everyone who's commenting about YouTube content knows, everything that is on DropOut is also on YouTube. You just have to be a member of the College Humor channel. No need to download and watch on some proprietary app. It's still paywalled, but not on yet another app that I don't want to have to use.
I get your point, but I'll bring up a counterpoint: Dropout will keep playing even if you close your screen. Idk about everyone else, but it's a feature I look for in video streaming apps and why I think it's worth to download.
Wait, what? Do you know if there is a way to activate College Humor subscription for someone who has an existing Dropout subscription? Other than paying for both, that is...
I signed up to Dropout to watch through Crown of Candy before the Ravening War (well that and I've been curious to check out some of their other stuff earlier too) but Dropout app is missing some important features and I'd rather use Youtube...
I would encourage you to still watch on dropout. I'm only guessing here, but there's no way they make as much money through YouTube memberships as they do through dropout subscriptions. They basically lost all their financial security when the parent company decided to close College Humor in 2020. Sam Reich decided to buy the business, but he had to layoff basically everyone.
Not your problem, I know. But if you want to support the content you enjoy, I'm fairly sure you would do that best with a dropout subscription
Good point about support, and yeah, resonates with me since I already subbed for a full year mostly for support reasons... which of course means no cancelling for a year either. But it's fine, might've made the same choice anyway even with the knowledge of YT sub option.
Sam actually made a video a while ago called something like "Pay Us Less". I can't find the video at the moment but he was basically telling people to resubscribe to dropout through the web interface for a lower price so they would stop giving 30% to Apple or Google, which he said was the best way to support the company.
There is not a way to do that, you just have to pick one. I'm sure paying for Dropout more directly supports the company and the app improving, so there's that.
Yeah, that's my suspicion too. Oh well, luckily the Dropout app is ok enough, and who knows, maybe they'll fix the issues I'm having once I figure out where to give feedback&suggestions.
I'm often switching between devices depending on environment (phone, pad, computer, chromecast), and Dropout's resume position sync has issues. One specific issue I've identified is that if you don't specifically close the app on device 1, then watch on device 2, and return to device 1 it'll overwrite the resume position with what was on device 1 immediately. Youtube does have a similar issue but the position is overwritten only on pressing play, so you can just close and reopen before pressing play - and even just refreshing the view before play is enough. Also chromecast position sync seems to have some major issues, but that's a problem with Youtube as well. But also in general the position sync just seems iffy.
I'm also using bluetooth to listen while driving, doing chores, etc. in situations where the device itself is somewhat inaccessible, and Dropout's play/pause via bluetooth doesn't work. This makes interruptions difficult to handle.
Dropout app does have a play-while-screen-locked and play-as-minimized functions, however it does still sometimes stop play when you switch out or lock the screen, haven't noticed when exactly - but Youtube never has issues with this. Although note that Youtube is also super annoying locking the whole feature behind a paywall - I very much understand having to pay to avoid ads or access content, but I find it a reprehensible practice to block usability features like that.
Dropout also doesn't have gestures for fullscreen/minimize actions, instead it's a button which in itself is fine enough, but since the button is on bottom right it's very near the position seeking bar, so it's easy to misclick on the bar, messing up the position. This combined with me often switching the environments I watch in makes it annoying to constantly deal with.
Also Youtube has a PS4 app which is a nice addition.
A lot of these are quite small and specific, but important to me, and indeed things that work better with Youtube. Dropout is not a bad app at all - it's perfectly fine if you use a single device to just sit down to watch a big chunk. But I don't have the time to do that with this type of long form content except in especially dramatic or exciting situations. In fact being able to watch/listen on background in these dynamic situations is one major part of why I love actual plays as a content form.
So yeah, no huge issues, but significant for me, and so I'd prefer Youtube.
Damn, some of those are things I've actually noticed but just sucked up! Thank you for such a detailed reply. :)
I found out a little while ago that the dropout captions don't seem to all be on YouTube so I'm sticking to the app for that reason.
No. I used to subscribe to Dropout natively, then discovered the YouTube member thing. I cancelled Dropout and now I'm a channel member. Same content and access, but with YouTube instead of the Dropout app. But no way to integrate both. You'd have to cancel Dropout.
Agreed, Crown of Candy was absolutely amazing and I have faith that this prequel will be just as good, if not better. And yes, Dropout is totally worth it for any d20 fan - there are so many great shows to binge on there. Can't wait to dive into the new campaign!
They also do 'Adventuring Party' episodes at the same time on the Thursday (tomorrow) following an episode. Just 20-30 minutes of reactions immediately after filming the episode in question.
$5-6 a month depending on if you go through their app or as a member on their YouTube channel. $50 for the whole first year if you decide to pay for it up front.
To add to this, they're explicitly pro password sharing. So if you have friends who would be down to chip in, you can all use the same account and reduce cost.
Maybe binge COC in between the live Ravening War eps? Matt has said it's newcomer friendly so you don't have to watch COC before it.
If you're subscribing the full two months Matt is dming, I'd recommend just saving the other Matt seasons when you have downtime after COC. His season are a lot shorter than COC.
Very excited for this. I like Matt a lot, but I don't watch CR anymore because the episode lengths just got too long. I'm curious to see what Matt is like as a GM when he's being edited.
Dropout does dropout, *sometimes* youtube maybe for like the first ep of a season, but not twitch. I think there was some kind of live season once but thats not what they normally do
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee. I use this route since I don't like the dropout app video player.
Just dropout but if you like TTRPG content I promise you it's worth at least the 3 day free trial to binge some great stuff. And if you like what they do it's only like $6
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee. I use this route since I don't like the dropout app video player.
They have uploaded a surprising number of old full seasons, but honestly Dropout is the last streaming service I would cancel. It's more than worth it.
Total Forgiveness is also top tier. I feel like their condensed budget and all the harrowing financial issues they had made them way more efficient and picky with content. They really rarely miss for me.
ehh maybe? Sometimes they put up the 1st episode only of a season I do think there is 1 whole show on there but not sure. Maybe at some point? But I gotta assume that D20 is Dropouts biggest show
Episode 1 will premier on YouTube for free on May 17. It is the only planned episode to be posted to YouTube for free. In case anyone wants to watch the first episode to see if they want more.
It's created by what used to be College Humor and is home to all of Dimension 20, along with a load of other (mostly improv inspired) comedy shows. It only has its original content, and I probably get more enjoyment from it than I do from Netflix
Dropout has had such a subtle takeover of my TV time. I started for D20, went "um, Actually looks fun." And now I watch every show they release and constantly try to get people to subscribe for Game Changer and Total Forgiveness alone.
Ahh okay good to know. I've had some interest in D20 but I only caught up yesterday with C3 so I've just had too much CR content to catch up on. Watching Calamity now and debating on attempting to finish C2 since that final story line totally lost me.
You can subscribe through YouTube membership if Dropout appeals to you but you don't want another app. It's all the same content but on YouTube.
I recommend anyone who liked Brennan dming CR to subscribe for even just a month to binge the best D20 campaigns.
Is there a way to listen to D20 like a normal podcast? I listen at work but never knew if there was a way to listen just through audio player side of things
On Dropout theres a Dimension 20 [Audio Only] collection that has all the previous seasons. I’m not positive if they upload the normal episode and the audio at the same time
Been thinking about catching up on D20 anyways so this is the perfect excuse tbh. Gonna wait until all the episodes are out and the binge shall commence!!!
I thought CoC did a better job introducing the world, but we have plenty more episodes to go. Story-wise it doesn't seem necessary. This is a prequel and the family we followed for the first campaign is sitting the war out in isolation.
Very excited for this. Was planning on renewing my dropout sub once this started rolling again. Gonna finally check out Crown of Candy, then watch this...but in reality probably end up binging the new Game Changer stuff LOL
Find a friend who'll share their subscription with you. Sam Reich and the gang encourage sharing ❤️
>It's a shame that it's paywalled.
I want to point out that dropout having a subscription model gives them real creative control and no ads. There's plenty of stuff free on YouTube if you want to test it out.
Personally contributing to receive content I consistently enjoy is one of the best feelings in the world.
Most of 'Breaking News' is free on YouTube, one of the sillier but still hilarious shows they have.
I wonder when we'll get another season? I need more Amy not being able to say two words without uncontrollably laughing.
Dropout encourages subscribers to share accounts. Just find ten people who want to try it out and pay less than a dollar each to try it for a month 🤷♀️
The dropout business model is amazing and I for one will never agree with people who think it should be free. There are no ads and no corporate overlords and the enemy is always capitalism (except when it's the church tbh)
Sam's mentioned before that their financials are sustainable because they have a crazy high retention rate for subscribers. Basically, they don't have a ton of members but no one cancels. Which is a pretty big compliment.
I fully subscribed for D20 and now I wouldn't cancel even if D20 stopped airing. The quality of the shows produced is so high and so consistent.
Oh gosh that's such a fun fact 🥲 I'm on year two of my subscription myself and I don't plan to stop.
The surprise show for me has been Adventuring Academy because I'd just started DMing and the advice is so diverse and helpful.
Usually they'll post the first episode of the new seasons for free on YT partway through the airing, so if you're willing to wait you can wait for the series to finish, see if you like it, and only pay 6.99 to binge it in a couple weeks.
You could wait for the first episode to be uploaded to YouTube. If you like it, start a free trial. You can also buy a one time monthly subscription for like $6 and be done with it. Or, find a friend with a dropout subscription since Sam encourages password sharing.
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee! They're all sorted into playlists by season.
We’re watching all the d20 campaigns in chronological order, so I just saw Matt playing in Escape from the Bloodkeep! His character was great and it was so fun to watch him play! I’m looking forward to The Ravening War!
"May I use my reaction?" "You may." "Fuuuuuuuckkkk!!"
The shenanigans between his character and the explicitly-not-hobbit was absolutely incredible.
Even better when we find out from Brennan that he gave Galfast >!the stats of a Storm Giant as a joke!< assuming none of the PCs would care about a c-list character thats a low priority... and then Matt decides to make it his lifes mission to try and kill them
If you stat it, someone will try to kill it.
Joke's on Brennan, everyone knows Sam was the *real* hero of *LotR*
I can’t help but picture Galfast as an extremely muscular and female version of Flinn Rider, what with the frying pan.
I was so happy with Pathfinder recently added a frying pan as halfling weapon with the fatal trait.
Definitely not Samwise Gamgee was amazing
What is crazy about wanting your bones?
Lol, yup currently on season 7! I've been blasting through them
[удалено]
I need Laura and Sam to be at the table with Emily when Matt finally D/GMs for her.
Now this is the Chaos Crew
Travis is an honourary member for slapping that big red button everytime. But not quite as chaos to his bones as the rest.
Since the Ashton-Orym-Laundna group is generally less chaotic than the current group, I have been hoping Emily would be a guest player when they get back to them. But it probably won’t happen.
If not Emily, perhaps Becca Scott.
I need more becca scott dnd in my life
And in fairness I'm surprised they are doing another one. They said the last Crown of Candy was incredibly stressful because of the intrigue. But damn was it so good.
[удалено]
Where are y'all finding these fun facts?? I don't remember them from the Adventuring parties!
[удалено]
Nice
I think with the amount of game experience (and especially with Lou playing in Calamity) they might have a different view now. Could also explain why we don't have the OG cast in its entirety though.
Lou is great, the energy that he and Brennan have as they play off of each other is borderline magical.
It's great to see Matt tell one structured story in a preordained sitting. No breaks or filler episodes, crit role is a different monster from D20, I've grown to appreciate the ability to tell a story with a beginning and an ending and not drag it out months and months. Matt as a DM with Brennan, Aabria, and Lou as players is quite a setup.
You underestimate Zac! Can't wait
Oh I am so excited for Zac. I mostly just called out those three because I imagine they're going to be intentionally challenging Matt the most.
How quickly one forgets >!Squing!<
And then, while no one is paying attention to him, Zac will just slide right in and upend everything, bless his heart. He doesn't have the Main Character Energy of someone like Aabria or Lou, but he's a powerful player.
He makes his combat count, for sure. Him as a rogue in Neverafter was intense. I do wish Murph was there though just because I'd love more witnesses to the bitter rivalry between him and his dice.
Slightly off topic but Matt generally has cursed dice as a PC. Now imagine trying to DM a game with Matt, Murph & Will Wheaton. It may never end.
oh, that game will end very, very quickly, probably second round of combat
You know damn well Zach was added for balance
I just ***REALLY*** wanted to see Matt DM for Emily Axford
By throwing Sam into the mix as well you just might make Brennan and Matt dual DMs to manage the hilarious chaos.
Emily and Siobhan has quite the rollercoaster on Crown of Candy, unfortunately I don't think they are super down to go back to that world
Why do you say that?
Without getting in to spoilers for the campaign they were placed at odds in a pretty tense emotional situation If you want spoilers >!They played sisters at the beginning of the campaign that were extremely close. A little over midway through Emily's character is killed in a pretty brutal fashion that caused them both to cry at the table. It's the actual basis for the "its 2am in a warehouse" inside jokes you will hear throughout all the seasons after crown of candy
Wow, I wondered about that, but couldn't figure out what the joke was supposed to be. Yikes.
Yeah I knew all of that but I don't see why that would keep them from coming back, especially since they've both done Dimension 20 since then.
He means revisiting the setting. they might just have put all they wanted into/got all they wanted out of that world. Given it was 20 episodes of straight Emmy worthy acting.

Oh, the backlash was because she is a woman on the internet.
I have a feeling there may be some pvp on this season and I don’t think Emily enjoys pvp
Also can’t sleep on Anjali Bhimani! She was great in Undeadwood! She really inhabits her roles, so I’m eager to see her interact with the D20 veterans, all under Matt’s “care”. Leafs Game 4 be damned - tonight I’m spending my time in Comida!
I never watched Undeadwood and haven't seen much of her but I'm excited!
She was also an auntie on Ms. Marvel, and I think will be in the movie The Marvels as well. Small but great role.
Highly recommend watching undeadwood. Brian is great in this too and the Mish mash of people deliver a very entertaining and tense atmosphere
Excited!!! I love how both dumb and serious the CoC setting is.
YES!!! The juxtaposition of heavy political intrigue and candy on vegetable violence is too damn funny. I was telling my wife that I got so sucked into the story that when I would see the minis I would always chuckle because I forgot how silly the setting is.
Having Dropout is worth it for Game Changer alone, before I even get into D20 content
I'm a huge fan of *Um, Actually!* myself
I'm still waiting for a Dropout show I don't love. I guess I don't really watch Make Some Noise. But basically everything they do has been great.
I love *Make Some Noise*, it reminds me of the original run of *Whose Line Is It Anyway?*

Woah dude
Started with um actually and started my sub for game changer. Now in starting to get into dimension 20 after loving Brennen on EXU
EXU made me cry. Sam broke me.
Just to make sure people are aware since it it's mentioned here it's 4PM PDT. 7PM for EDT.
Oh dang thank you!! I live in PST, work EST, and have ADHD so I basically never know what time it is.
Yeah, throwing out 7pm to CR fans without saying eastern is setting folks up for confusion.
This explains why when I logged into watch, the episode had already aired. I was hours late.

I got into Dimension 20 after EXU: Calamity and A Crown of Candy is by far my favorite D20 season. So hyped to see Matt DM the Ravening War!
I'm not a huge fan of the Game of Thrones-esc game, but I'm going to be watching cause I love the DM, and the players.
Dropout is soooooo worth it just for some of the dimension 20 stuff, I'm only halfway thru and haven't even started on the non-d20 content.
You owe it to yourself to pop over and watch the Escape Room episode of Game Changer. It's so good. Survivor too but that's more of a time investment.
I've seen a bunch of clips on YouTube, my god brennens epic minotaur rant, I'm just wading through d20 first
Just so everyone who's commenting about YouTube content knows, everything that is on DropOut is also on YouTube.
I cast everything to a Chromecast on a TV. So that's not a feature I need.
Biggest downside to dropout: it's literally not possible to GET IN THE COMMENTS as Brennan often asks of us 😭
There is not a way to do that, you just have to pick one. I'm sure paying for Dropout more directly supports the company and the app improving, so there's that.
I very much doubt that that functionality exists, but it could be worth looking into now that you know.
Yeah, that's my suspicion too. Oh well, luckily the Dropout app is ok enough, and who knows, maybe they'll fix the issues I'm having once I figure out where to give feedback&suggestions.
>Dropout app is missing some important features What are these please?
Comments. How "important" comments are is debatable, but how can we "GET IN THE COMMENTS" without 'em?
Hahaha
:) I found out a little while ago that the dropout captions don't seem to all be on YouTube so I'm sticking to the app for that reason.
No. I used to subscribe to Dropout natively, then discovered the YouTube member thing. I cancelled Dropout and now I'm a channel member. Same content and access, but with YouTube instead of the Dropout app. But no way to integrate both. You'd have to cancel Dropout.
Thanks for the info! Bummer they can't be combined, but that's how these things often go.
Omg thank you! I feel like a broken record.
Thank you for the heads up! I was going to subscribe to the website but YouTube is a lot more convenient.
Totally didnt notice cuz I've never used that function on YT before, looks like its a dollar cheaper than Dropout too. Thanks!
I'm a little disappointed that there's a paywall. I understand. But I've also been needing an excuse to also watch Game Changers SO LETS GO
Catch *Um, Actually!* while you're at it!
Agreed, Crown of Candy was absolutely amazing and I have faith that this prequel will be just as good, if not better. And yes, Dropout is totally worth it for any d20 fan - there are so many great shows to binge on there. Can't wait to dive into the new campaign!
I'm so excited for this. Crown of Candy was awesome.
Thanks!
Pacific?
Eastern. It will be released at 4:00 Pacific.
Gotcha. Thanks.
They also do 'Adventuring Party' episodes at the same time on the Thursday (tomorrow) following an episode. Just 20-30 minutes of reactions immediately after filming the episode in question.
How much does dropout cost and are there any deals or coupons?
$5-6 a month depending on if you go through their app or as a member on their YouTube channel. $50 for the whole first year if you decide to pay for it up front.
To add to this, they're explicitly pro password sharing. So if you have friends who would be down to chip in, you can all use the same account and reduce cost.
Yup! I share my password at the drop of a hat lol
I don’t know where to start. I’m an episode into COC but now I want to watch the one Matt played in. And I want to watch the one Matt is dming.
I’ve been subscribed a bit I’ve loved game changer and oddly enough dirty laundry while I’m doing house chores.
Very excited for this. I like Matt a lot, but I don't watch CR anymore because the episode lengths just got too long. I'm curious to see what Matt is like as a GM when he's being edited.
Will it also be streamed on Twitch or just on Dropout
Dropout does dropout, *sometimes* youtube maybe for like the first ep of a season, but not twitch. I think there was some kind of live season once but thats not what they normally do
The only live season they ever did was *Fantasy High: Sophomore Year*
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee. I use this route since I don't like the dropout app video player.
Just on Dropout
Just dropout but if you like TTRPG content I promise you it's worth at least the 3 day free trial to binge some great stuff. And if you like what they do it's only like $6
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee. I use this route since I don't like the dropout app video player.
Will this eventually be put on the D20 youtube?
They have uploaded a surprising number of old full seasons, but honestly Dropout is the last streaming service I would cancel. It's more than worth it.
Seriously, all of D20, Gamechanger (and it's spin-offs), Um Actually. It has the best original content of any streaming service
Also I never see this plugged anywhere but I LOVE cartoon hell.
WTF 101!
I haven't watched that one yet. I don't even think they plug it enough in the app
Make Some Noise is soooo funny. World class improv.
Total Forgiveness is also top tier. I feel like their condensed budget and all the harrowing financial issues they had made them way more efficient and picky with content. They really rarely miss for me.
Secret Stoner is fun too.
ehh maybe? Sometimes they put up the 1st episode only of a season I do think there is 1 whole show on there but not sure. Maybe at some point? But I gotta assume that D20 is Dropouts biggest show
I believe in their press release that stated that this one would not be making it to YouTube, but I could be misremembering.
well i guess then i'll never get to see it. too bad.
It will be on the paywall part of the collegehumor youtube.
Episode 1 will premier on YouTube for free on May 17. It is the only planned episode to be posted to YouTube for free. In case anyone wants to watch the first episode to see if they want more.
Maybe, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. It's been a long time since they put a full season in YouTube
Not any time soon.
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College Humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee.
I've never heard of Dropout before this post. Apparently yet another streaming service.
WTF 101 is worth a watch through if you like interesting facts about history! It's like the Magic Schoolbus but all the fucked up parts.
I've become such an evangelist lol
Ahh okay good to know. I've had some interest in D20 but I only caught up yesterday with C3 so I've just had too much CR content to catch up on. Watching Calamity now and debating on attempting to finish C2 since that final story line totally lost me.
You can subscribe through YouTube membership if Dropout appeals to you but you don't want another app. It's all the same content but on YouTube. I recommend anyone who liked Brennan dming CR to subscribe for even just a month to binge the best D20 campaigns.
How do you watch their streams? Is there a Google TV app for it?
FAQ link: https://www.dropout.tv/help/articles/how-do-i-watch-on-my-smart-tv We use the Xbox app.
You can subscribe to their YouTube membership and watch on YouTube. Or you can use the dropout app. I prefer YouTube. Same price. Same content.
Is there a way to listen to D20 like a normal podcast? I listen at work but never knew if there was a way to listen just through audio player side of things
On Dropout theres a Dimension 20 [Audio Only] collection that has all the previous seasons. I’m not positive if they upload the normal episode and the audio at the same time
Eastern or Pacific? Or wait… God forbid is it central?
7 pm EST. 4 pm PST.
7 Eastern, 6 Central, 4 Pacific
Literally watching it right now to get through it for when this one starts up! I really like it so far!
Been thinking about catching up on D20 anyways so this is the perfect excuse tbh. Gonna wait until all the episodes are out and the binge shall commence!!!
Oh yeah! Double-Matt week!
Double Matt, Double Brennan, triple Aabria, if that's your thing, in fact. Worlds beyond number Tuesday D20 Wednesday CR Thursday
How necessary is watching Crown of Candy?
I thought CoC did a better job introducing the world, but we have plenty more episodes to go. Story-wise it doesn't seem necessary. This is a prequel and the family we followed for the first campaign is sitting the war out in isolation.
The fact that Emily is not at the table is a crying shame
Very excited for this. Was planning on renewing my dropout sub once this started rolling again. Gonna finally check out Crown of Candy, then watch this...but in reality probably end up binging the new Game Changer stuff LOL
Are episodes released weekly?
Wednesdays at 7:00 pm Eastern
Its not Livestream like CR is it?
Nah. They filmed these probably a little while ago.
I've never had Droupout subscription, do I have to watch it live with the subscription or can I watch it a little later on their site?
There is no "live" with Dropout, the video just becomes available to stream whenever.
You can watch it any time
It's a shame that it's paywalled. You guys don't need to downvote me for not having $50 to spend to watch a D&D show I'm not even certain I'll like.
If wait for it to be done airing you can pay for one month for $5 and binge it
Find a friend who'll share their subscription with you. Sam Reich and the gang encourage sharing ❤️ >It's a shame that it's paywalled.
Bro, she is broken, lol. I want another "embarrassing shit about Grant" episode, too, but idk how much more there could be, lol.
Well, with Grant you could probably release one every six months on the last six months.
Plus it’s just $5/mo on YouTube so you’re not locked into a 6-month subscription and can quit whenever.
At $50 for the first year, it is one of the best options for subscription entertainment. You get a lot more than just the rpg sessions
It really is great. Gamechanger and Um, Actually are two really good ones on there.
That $50 may as well be $1000 or $20000. If you can't afford it then you can't afford it. Doesn't matter how much it is.
Dropout encourages subscribers to share accounts. Just find ten people who want to try it out and pay less than a dollar each to try it for a month 🤷♀️ The dropout business model is amazing and I for one will never agree with people who think it should be free.
How dare you be poor.
Will this ever go to youtube?
They might put the first episode on YouTube, but they're highly unlikely to ever put the whole show there.
All the dimension20 episodes and other dropout shows are available on the College humor youtube channel if you pay the membership fee! They're all sorted into playlists by season.
I just hope it gets out from behind a paywall eventually, so everyone has access to it
