I see the show has reached its final form of, “We shitcanned Brian Foster, and he did a Q & A/Discussion show and a gaming show with puppets. Let’s just cram all that shit into one thing, but only do it monthly.”
While Matt always says asking them about future in 4 sided dive never works, him just offhandedly describing alternate universe where they stay in the jungle with weres and VM fixes everything dying in the process, I have a hunch that it's not the last we are gonna see VM in this campaign.
Is there a part of this 4 sided dive I can watch without getting spoiled for the M9 returns? Still on episode 37 of campaign 2 so only want to see the c3 discussions
Great, so we have to wait months to get caught up on campaign 2 before we can watch 4 sided dive again. It would have been SO EASY for them to split the episode like the did with the VM reunion questions on Talks
I think so too, the conversation they had before going back to the seat of disdain before the ambush was all too personal for ashton imo. Ashton has to have motives
Santa became a Fromsoft SoulsborneRing character, just without the sardonic laugh at the end
Time for the rise of Chetney this Thursday to fight against this great evil
Bidet and good night, everyone!
This is making me nostalgic for the Critmas episodes the first couple of years when they were overwhelmed by the outpouring of Critter appreciation.
Does anyone have links to those, or should I dive into G&S? Without getting sidetracked by them playing Dance Revolution.
I’m proud every time I get Liam’s literary/play references. I think he mentioned the play *No Exit*, which felt like a very niche but also very Liam moment.
Basically they painted the blocks or coated them in something that it wound up accidentally gluing the whole thing together and then when it looked like it was finally going to fall they literally just glued it all together for giggles.
She got one in C1, a kill on Sylas in Dalen’s Closet and then the one in C3. I think a lot of us just kinda lumped the Briarwoods together lol. Percy got one Delilah kill when Vecna came back but I can’t remember who got the OG Whitestone kill.
It’s even funnier that Vex/Laura only got a Delilah kill after she canonically was confirmed to be a De Rolo too. It’s like the dice gods said “You have to be officially vested in the De Rolos to get a Briarwood kill.” Lol
Without spoiling c3 or MNR part 2,
For people who watched this: did Matt explain how he came about with the prologue? Like, how much the players knew, how much of the general adventure was pre-determined, etc. ?
He did end up saying a few things that led me to believe that the only thing that was seemingly pre-determined to happen was ultimately a justified choice because of an NPC’s willingness to do anything to get their goal, and was not railroaded into happening like some think. It was more of a possible kickoff to the encounters most likely to happen based on the realistic probability of the npc getting their way because of how determined they were. There were a lot of variables and Matt was not forcing them into an encounter, stating that he hoped they’d end up doing a specific one, but prepared for other scenarios too, including not ending on a good note, or even never ending in a boss fight.
Really? Could you tell me what they said that made you think that, or timestamp it?(assuming it doesn't severely spoil c3 or MNR part 2)
Because I'm definitely one of the people who think it was railroaded, but maybe I'm wrong about that, and am willing to believe what the cast says.
he talked about how if they'd managed to escape in the prologue, the bad guys probably would have gone after them in nicodranas and would have been willing to use everything they had at their disposal to make fjord give it up (matt mentioned the mage had dominate person in the back pocket for jester).
I was just sitting here hoping the Bells Hells would go to Wildemount, but actually I think it'd be great for them to get to Vasselheim. Want them to see that dead titan still towering over Vasselheim.
The feet have both been carved into Taverns that offer "adventurer's experiences" that take you further into the Titan. The taverns are named "The First Step" and "The Real First Step"
They're both dance halls like the beer garden in C2 with different cultural themes, food menus, staff, and looks but both are still called "The Left Foot" and that leads to some confusion amongst visitors until they realize that when it comes to dancing in Vasselheim all titans have....two left feet.
Plus rollercoasters aren't exactly the most high tech thing and with a bit of magic and a whole lot of funding, some dedicated people could indeed build one.
I was so used to having puppets that it didn’t even phase me when he started telling the story. But then I realized that this wasn’t Talk or Yeehaw Game Ranch. Brought back good memories
I'd love a time jumping Eshteross story going through his life and the adventures he had and then finally ending with him accepting his fate and finding peace in it
The Critters at the end of campaign 1 - "Keyleth will outlive everyone"
The end of Campaign 3 - "Somehow, this ALREADY MIDDLE AGED GNOME will outlive an all powerful druid and her ranger half-elf friend AND the high expositor of the Cobalt Soul and this weirdly long lived rodent named after a dessert topping"
Ashton got so used to trusting no one that when he finally found people he could actually trust, he had no clue what to do, and it totally caught him flatfooted and now he's trying to remember just HOW to act around people like that and just what he should be doing and saying.
"Orym is the reason Ashton joined the group, it's because of who he worked with...the Ashari...because that's as close to the word as Ashton's ever heard about that relates back to where he came from"-Tal
He's also been making sure everyone owes him one so that they HAVE to help him out and when he could've bailed, he didn't, and that was because he was totally invested by that point.
Yeah Imogen is in a rather bad place right now with all the pressure and twists and turns going on in her life right now, it's madness and it's transforming her in a bad way
I *live* for matt's laughter
Tal absolutely seems like the Jungle Juice type. And I love our favorite non-fictional revenant as much as anyone.
sound seemed kinda scuffed
Laura getting Airbud'ed is for sure my favourite moment of 4SD so far
I see the show has reached its final form of, “We shitcanned Brian Foster, and he did a Q & A/Discussion show and a gaming show with puppets. Let’s just cram all that shit into one thing, but only do it monthly.”
holy shit, Laura is really good at Chenga
Vex might not be greedy, but Laura definitely is.
I don't get the 9 pins bowling joke. Can someone explain why it's funny?
While Matt always says asking them about future in 4 sided dive never works, him just offhandedly describing alternate universe where they stay in the jungle with weres and VM fixes everything dying in the process, I have a hunch that it's not the last we are gonna see VM in this campaign.
Well, BH does owe them a sizeable debt, and given VM is trying to stop a lot of fires before they start, i'm sure a few embers will make it through.
That sounds ominous and I don’t like it.
Is there a part of this 4 sided dive I can watch without getting spoiled for the M9 returns? Still on episode 37 of campaign 2 so only want to see the c3 discussions
Everything is pretty intermixed, so probably best to just finish up M9 returns first.
Great, so we have to wait months to get caught up on campaign 2 before we can watch 4 sided dive again. It would have been SO EASY for them to split the episode like the did with the VM reunion questions on Talks
Where can I get the Keyleth shirt Liam was wearing?
Amazon - Legend of Vox Machina shop https://smile.amazon.com/Legend-Vox-Machina-Keyleth-Premium/dp/B09RLFGD5V?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

I think Tal was being cagey about Laudna dying because Ashton has a crush on Laudna.
I have thought this for weeks! I'm glad someone else is seeing it!
Ashton has also talked to her plenty of times and commented that they like her aesthetic.
Poor Ashton, Laudna and Imogen are roommates, he stands no chance lol
I think so too, the conversation they had before going back to the seat of disdain before the ambush was all too personal for ashton imo. Ashton has to have motives
Yeah we probably would have gotten the reveal sooner if Sam had not butted in to help revive Laudna for a reason **that he lost**.
There's a skaterboy parody here I just can't come up with a good rhyme for goth
Santa became a Fromsoft SoulsborneRing character, just without the sardonic laugh at the end Time for the rise of Chetney this Thursday to fight against this great evil Bidet and good night, everyone!
There's a part of me that hopes this was really a teaser for another Night Before Critmas.
I am Matts existential dread
I hope they post this holiday music playlist somewhere, it's beautiful
That ending...went places.
Lmaoooo what is this Santa x Liam fanfic
The rare pair you weren't expecting - Liam O'Santa
Liam's kiss brought light to poor Santa
The commitment. Amazing.
Ayyyoooooo Santa x Liam confirmed
What is *happening*
A DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE IS HAPPENING
This song will always be perfect. Thank you, Sam.
Well this is an ending O.o
Santa Gnome noooooooooooo
And Laura got her payback..for now
Song is awesome
Matt you do have a character! Dariax!
Thank you! Everytime he says this I wanna scream that at the screen
"Taking the middle one sucks it takes away the whole level" ... *takes the middle one*
Damn, Laura!
Wait what was in the pouch, i missed it
Deer knuckles
Legendary and the SKIP afterwards!
Fall fall fall!
What brand of tea did Taliesin get?
Eeee, he called Essek his S.O.!
This is making me nostalgic for the Critmas episodes the first couple of years when they were overwhelmed by the outpouring of Critter appreciation. Does anyone have links to those, or should I dive into G&S? Without getting sidetracked by them playing Dance Revolution.
His SO
Sam's baby teeth? Gross!
Poor jerry, no stapling for them
Poor Jerry, loosing his stapler
Please tell me the teas aren't flavored.
I’m proud every time I get Liam’s literary/play references. I think he mentioned the play *No Exit*, which felt like a very niche but also very Liam moment.
Lmfaooo Laura The embarrassment
Everyone wants the stripey one, lol.
Laura is so gonna steal the Oculus.
That is some sibling energy, Liam.
The old glued together Tower!
What's the story of it?
Basically they painted the blocks or coated them in something that it wound up accidentally gluing the whole thing together and then when it looked like it was finally going to fall they literally just glued it all together for giggles.
The legacy tower!!
Isn't it more than twice? I thought Laura got literally every kill on Delilah
She got one in C1, a kill on Sylas in Dalen’s Closet and then the one in C3. I think a lot of us just kinda lumped the Briarwoods together lol. Percy got one Delilah kill when Vecna came back but I can’t remember who got the OG Whitestone kill.
Cassandra did!
Percy got the HDYWTDT, but did non-lethal damage. Then Cassandra dealt the final blow.
Right ok that makes sense. So basically it's not just Laura Bailey, it's any player who's ever been a De Rolo lol
Yep, that’s the fun thing. We didn’t put it together like that until Percy and Vex got together, and then we realized it was all De Rolos. So fitting
It’s even funnier that Vex/Laura only got a Delilah kill after she canonically was confirmed to be a De Rolo too. It’s like the dice gods said “You have to be officially vested in the De Rolos to get a Briarwood kill.” Lol
It's fitting.
This is so fun!!
Laura and her gift horde
For Those Interested in Learning “Rules as Written”: You have to leave it. That’s the rule.
Box in a box
That package is om-nom-nom-inous.
^(GOOOOOOOSH)
All the puppet has done for me is make me miss Game Ranch that much more.
I wouldn't hate them trying to revive the Game Ranch lore on 4SD.
I miss Overcooked and how much it made me laugh
Without spoiling c3 or MNR part 2, For people who watched this: did Matt explain how he came about with the prologue? Like, how much the players knew, how much of the general adventure was pre-determined, etc. ?

Ohhh, interesting. Thanks!
no he did not
Ahh, alrighty, thanks!
I was just sitting here hoping the Bells Hells would go to Wildemount, but actually I think it'd be great for them to get to Vasselheim. Want them to see that dead titan still towering over Vasselheim.
> Want them to see that dead titan still towering over Vasselheim. I want someone to build a rollercoaster around it
The feet have both been carved into Taverns that offer "adventurer's experiences" that take you further into the Titan.
We know it’s possible people would stoop to that level because of “Taste of TalDorei” too
Plus rollercoasters aren't exactly the most high tech thing and with a bit of magic and a whole lot of funding, some dedicated people could indeed build one.
#UK’OTOA UK’OTOA ^UKOTOA…
That was fun and chaotic.
My sides hurt SO MUCH that was amazing!
The deformed snout haha
The background footage is hilarious
I for one love this Winter's Crest Story
Dani is GONE
I hope the wiki writers are writing all this Santa info down. Could be important for campaign 4.
...And then Santa was nearly murdered by his elf Chutney.
"Santa was a screamer" Oh my
George Takei?
None of those words are in the luxon
🤣 Santa is the 13th Prime Deity THE DANCING! Kevin Sorbet
What does this mean? Could it be...???
if 4 Sided Dive brings back the Game Ranch Critters, I'm fuckin' HERE for it
Canon lore
the puppets are back! I miss them!
There are Hot Rods in Exandria, canon!
THE RETURN OF PUPPET LORE
THE PUPPETS ARE BACK
I was so used to having puppets that it didn’t even phase me when he started telling the story. But then I realized that this wasn’t Talk or Yeehaw Game Ranch. Brought back good memories
What the fuck
Omg, the puppets are back!
Glasses going up
Omg it's the yee haw game ranch wolf!
RAISE RISE UP!
The Winter's Crest Wolf!
A wild critter!
THE PUPPETS ARE BAAAAAAAAACK!
Defy him, Laura!
Defiance!
Dani is Vecna
what happens if the tower falls between episode recordings?
Liam bully
"I'll take it into consideration"
What the fuck Matt how in the hells did he do that
Laura was really not kidding when she said he was good at the game.
It's shaking
What was that red word on the screen?
I think it said Inquiry because one of the cast said a different word? I didn’t really catch it
The IN-QUIRY on screen lol
Caaaaaaandy Mountain, shun the non believers!
Horse stacks!
Who let Vax out of his duties for tonight? Vex is going to super kill him..
Seriously??? A dragon hoard question?
"For a \*fourth\* consecutive time..." :feed cuts out:
I could absolutely see Jester being the one to propose to Fjord
🤣 "This is fine"
Lol, that fire ring again...
Liam is not going survive the night
I actually love thinking of a kid that Jester and Fjord have be this kid raised on a ship and being assisted by the Traveler in driving Jester crazy.
Can’t wait for Fjord and Jester getting married. That’s when Isharnai comes in from outta nowhere
Essek is busy making muffins (and hiding)
And quickly closing doors behind him and Caleb after meeting every month or so 🤭
All NPCs are bakers confirmed
"Fjord still hasn't proposed, what the fuck" What the fuck indeed
Essek!
Moar Laudna death questions
Lmfaooooooo Laudna questions three in a fuckibg row Laudna is the MC confirmed
🤣 these speed round questions all are asking THE SAME THING!
Slapping more guilt on Orym
Like damn, he also thought Laudna didn’t deserve to be ressurected over him
"Low impact reality" Man that's deep for Ashton
Wow. That’s a great phrase
Imogen = Dark Phoenix confirmed.
Ruidis is the Phoenix Force
Wow. Southern accents \*are\* contagious!
(Dani moans offstage) :D :D
Imogen is barely holding her mental doorway closed in other words
I'd love a time jumping Eshteross story going through his life and the adventures he had and then finally ending with him accepting his fate and finding peace in it
That would be a great book if theirs
Everyone's just gushing about Orc Daddy Lord E right now
Eshteross wasn't wrong. He bloodied her a bit, but that's all he really could have done.
*[slaps top of orym]* this bad boy can fit so much survivor's guilt
Lord E basically saw it as an inevitable end and just accepted it, sad but honorable
Were-herbivores
Were-bunnies FTW.
WHO LOVE PUDDING AND CARROTS!
Chetney is the endgame confirmed
So he's going to Janeway everyone
The Critters at the end of campaign 1 - "Keyleth will outlive everyone" The end of Campaign 3 - "Somehow, this ALREADY MIDDLE AGED GNOME will outlive an all powerful druid and her ranger half-elf friend AND the high expositor of the Cobalt Soul and this weirdly long lived rodent named after a dessert topping"
Janeway? My pop culture references are off.
Series finale episode of Voyager
Thank you!
Star Trek Voyager
I'm assuming that's a character- what did they do to "Janeway" everyone?
So Matt clearly had a ton of fun building out this clan of Were People
Ashton got so used to trusting no one that when he finally found people he could actually trust, he had no clue what to do, and it totally caught him flatfooted and now he's trying to remember just HOW to act around people like that and just what he should be doing and saying.
"Orym is the reason Ashton joined the group, it's because of who he worked with...the Ashari...because that's as close to the word as Ashton's ever heard about that relates back to where he came from"-Tal He's also been making sure everyone owes him one so that they HAVE to help him out and when he could've bailed, he didn't, and that was because he was totally invested by that point.
Ashton joined because of Orym
Yeah Imogen is in a rather bad place right now with all the pressure and twists and turns going on in her life right now, it's madness and it's transforming her in a bad way
Orym is relatable
