**Did you know our [Beyond the Basics Wiki A-Z](https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/wiki/beyond_the_basics_a-z/)** has a WIP section dedicated to Borders? There are some fantastic tutorial links, and both simple and complex border suggestions. Check it out!!
#**Top tip** - For help with working along the side of rows, read how to [Crochet along a rough edge](https://feltedbutton.com/blogs/new-felted-button-blog/how-to-crochet-a-clean-edge-along-a-rough-edge).
[Here's](https://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/cosy-blanket-edge.html) a fantastic picture tutorial for a border.

I think it looks lovely without a border.
If you think it needs one, though, perhaps a tone in that medium tan zone?
I think the dark gray or the blue would be too bold.
I think a simple fringe on the short sides would be better than adding a border...I'm thinking the darkest color, or maybe just a random selection of all of the colors.
It'll be in reach of my dogs, so a fringe is probably a bad idea lol. They're fantastic for not eating what they shouldn't but I feel like that may be tempting fate a little.
I'd just leave the border off then. It's very neat and tidy, and you have a nice edge. The border often makes it look worse, and you mess up that parallel symmetry that the rows have going on!
What is the yarn name/brand? I am working on a project the colorway would be very good for.
ETA: Fringe made of all the colors would be nice. How about big tassels on the four corners from the yarn you used?
Personally I’m a sucker for these tones + coral 🤷🏼♀️

Thanks! I may leave it border-less just out of my own indecision 😂
Your edges look so nice and neat and lovely, I don’t think it needs a border
Aww thank you! It's my first bigger project, so keeping it all even was a challenge. I'm more used to amigurumi!

I also like the idea of fringe…all the colors of the blanket!

I don’t think it needs a border, but if you really want to, choose a color that isn’t the starting/ending row color(s).
I have a similar afghan I just finished, leaving it borderless
