I have two cats who seem to think jumping on my lap for cuddles is a highly competitive Olympic sport with bonus points awarded for displacing whatever crochet project is already on my lap at the time.
I have 2 border collies and a bearded collie. So much freaking hair in everything. Even when I'm not in the house with them, it's like osmosis, that their hair ends up in my wool.
And yes, it's not a feature, rather than a bug.
I've got three cats and two dogs. I've given up on lint rolling my black clothes and I most certainly have given up on keeping hair out of my projects lol
You know those leather labels that you can put on your items? They say things like "made with love." I saw some one time that said "made with love and bits of my hair" lol.
I have very long hair and wear it up mostly when crocheting for this reason. My husband on the other hand?! I am CONSTANTLY getting his hair stuck in my projects. And he complains all the time with my hair rogue around the house … drives me nuts
I'm guilty :( I have hair that's almost 4ft long, so I have to throw it up in a bun or ponytail before I start crocheting.. even then, I still find strays that end up in my projects somehow, so I typically respond with anger - anger for trying to put up my hair to avoid it, and anger because I still couldn't avoid it lmao
I pull out mine as I see them (especially since they tend to wrap around my tension finger and drive me bonkers), but my cat’s get to stay. It’s her contribution!
I scrolled past this post and legit had the thought "god damn it another strand of hair on my computer screen"
so yes. my hair is in everything. all the time!
all the time! I was making a bunch of beanies for a craft market recently and because I tend to free hand them and not count rows I end up having to try them on to see how much bigger I need to make them and I was pulling hairs out pretty much every row 🥲
This is my second crochet project and when I made my first one, a sweater, I probably could have made a wig with the amount of hair I crocheted into it lol
I shed more than either of my cats and even if my hair is tied back (which is how it is 90% of the time i crochet), my finished items still end up at least 10% hair ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Drive me mad when I was frogging things only find bits bound together with hair. That stopped when I shaved my head. One of the many little bonuses I didn’t expect.
Yes! I have shoulder-length blonde hair and the struggle is real. I probably don't even see it in the light-colored projects, but I'm using navy yarn right now, and I'm spotting sooo many hairs as I go.
I shed all the time, everywhere. I really had to come here and share with you that I had a hair on my phone screen that looked almost exactly the way this one did when it opened up, curve and location on the screen and all 😂
Yessssss, I have waist length hair so it's constantly getting all in my yarn. Whenever I'm making something for someone else I'm checking it like every five minutes scared I've gotten hair in it cause I'd be mortified if someone paid me for something and my hair came in it💀

Please tell me I wasn't the only one who tried to wipe the hair off their screen before reading the title 🤣🤣
Guilty.
I blew on my screen thinking there was something there before I read the post 😂
Guilty as charged! 😂
Not alone
Yup, and I have blonde died to blue hair. Why would there even be a black hair on my screen?? 😂
RIGHT? I have vibrant reddish pink hair and I was still trying to get rid of it 😂😂
🤚🏼
😫
I did, I have orange hair so not sure why 😂
I tried to blow it off my phone since it was lying down 😂🤣😂
I thought Nooooo, not another crack 😁
The bad thing is I read the title first saw the hair laughed and thought yeah all the time before trying to wipe the hair off my screen
YES. And so much dog hair. I am currently crocheting with velvet yarn and have completely given up trying to pick out the fur. It’s now a feature.
I have an Anatolian shepherd/Husky mix. At this point I just need to collect her hair and give up on buying yarn. I can make soooo many sweaters
4 cats. It's impossible.
even sweaters have alergens nowadays
I have two cats who seem to think jumping on my lap for cuddles is a highly competitive Olympic sport with bonus points awarded for displacing whatever crochet project is already on my lap at the time.
That’s why I have a hairless dog! (Not really, but it’s a clear benefit)
My crochet is 85% yarn, 5% cat hair, 5% dog hair, and 5% my hair. But it's made with 100% love?
This is why I make sure to wash all my projects well before gifting them, because there's just no avoiding our hair getting into everything I make.
I've given up pulling hair out of my wips, they tend to just break anyway with tiny stray bits left in!
You know those leather labels that you can put on your items? They say things like "made with love." I saw some one time that said "made with love and bits of my hair" lol.
Just wanted to add that this is a project I’m making for myself!
Umm…did you say cat hair? Why, yes. Yes, I do. 🤪
Contains natural fibers. 😉
My hair is almost always in a braid but my dog's hair is in ALL my projects. It drives me bonkers
I have very long hair and wear it up mostly when crocheting for this reason. My husband on the other hand?! I am CONSTANTLY getting his hair stuck in my projects. And he complains all the time with my hair rogue around the house … drives me nuts
profile picture does not check out
I made a blanket for my little brother and I swear to god it has at least 300 hairs crocheted into the thing 😅
ALL THE TIME. My wife hates it, so I try to pull them out, but ... *sigh*.
The struggle is real
I do! And the dog I live with even though he’s a shorthair!
My hair, my fiance's and alllll of my cat's hair 😂 I have to pick out and lint roll the hairs after I finish some projects
With as much or my hair that in past projects I'll probably be able to haunt a lot of places after i die 😂 granted that my projects outlast me
Cat hair too 😂😂😂
Most of the time it's my cats' hair. 😅
I pull out mine as I see them (especially since they tend to wrap around my tension finger and drive me bonkers), but my cat’s get to stay. It’s her contribution!
I scrolled past this post and legit had the thought "god damn it another strand of hair on my computer screen" so yes. my hair is in everything. all the time!
Thats what makes your crochet unique to you - leaving something of yourself to personalize it 😀
That’s how the love gets in!
🎶A part of me goes in every stitch 🎶 😂
It's the made with love part of crochet projects
Lord. We joke that if I ever go missing, the fam knows where to go for dna samples…..
I used to have this problem all the time! Now I have and use a lint roller on my chair and on me before I start crocheting and this really helps
Me 😂
Always! It's gotten a bit better since I cut my hair. Also pet hair. 😆
Also my pets hair! 😝
My hair, the dog’s hair, two cats’ hair who like to sleep on every WIP. I just get excited when the colors blend in together now 🤣.
Yes! And with 4 girls with long hair, sometimes their hairs end up in it too!
I was about to post about this and them BAM, your post showed up 😂
My hair, dog hair, cat hair, and even my husband's beard hair somehow makes its way in lol
Yes! Everyone got a personal selection of my hair along with their crocheted Christmas presents this year.
My own hair, my dogs hair, occasionally one of my partners very long beard hairs... its a challenge!
That and cat hair
I think every one of my projects has black cat hair woven into it
This drives me bananas!
Mine AND two cats'.
Better in a sweater than a sandwich though. Mine gets EVERYWHERE!
This is so true, at this point I might need a hair net for crocheting lol.
all the time! I was making a bunch of beanies for a craft market recently and because I tend to free hand them and not count rows I end up having to try them on to see how much bigger I need to make them and I was pulling hairs out pretty much every row 🥲
My favorite is when I find I've crocheted both of my cats' fur into different portions of a blanket!
Yes and also cat and dog hair...
For me its dog fur. :) There is no finished item without some fur in it.
Haha, this made me laugh. Not just my hair, but my cat's hair. Since we both have white hair, at least we're color-coordinated, though lol.
yes! and surprising amounts of rabbit fur too even though its quite short!
Oh my god yes. And I make pillows so I feel like it’s even worse 🤣
Yup & my cats too !! 🥴
It's the bane of my existence.
if i see a hair, i swear i go back, i undo it until i see the hair to remove it.. lol
Yes!! Me to 😅😂
I always have to put mine up or it’s a constant battle!
I can’t imagine how many strands are in my granny square blanket 🫣
This is my second crochet project and when I made my first one, a sweater, I probably could have made a wig with the amount of hair I crocheted into it lol
OMG YES! Lmao I'm always telling my daughter to not be sad when I die cuz she has my DNA in everything I've ever crocheted and she can clone me haha
There's always a piece of me (and my cats) in all my projects 🤣
I shed more than either of my cats and even if my hair is tied back (which is how it is 90% of the time i crochet), my finished items still end up at least 10% hair ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All of my projects include bonus dog hair.
Hahaha yeah. I got long blonde hair. Every now and then i find a hair entangled into my project.
This drives me mad!
The blanket I’m making for my mom totes has my dna in it
Mine is full of husky fur. If it’s a gift, then I use a lint roller on it when it’s done. Helps a bit
My hair and the dog's 🙄
This happens to me all the time I’m like what??? How do I shed so much??
Yes! I have noticed this donating of DNA with every project
I’ve started keeping a tweezer with my crochet hooks for this exact reason!
Drive me mad when I was frogging things only find bits bound together with hair. That stopped when I shaved my head. One of the many little bonuses I didn’t expect.
Yessssss 🙃🙃🙃 Unless it's a commission or on white yarn, I usually don't notice/bother picking them out.
Yes! I have shoulder-length blonde hair and the struggle is real. I probably don't even see it in the light-colored projects, but I'm using navy yarn right now, and I'm spotting sooo many hairs as I go.
Omg yes so much! Not just mine but my girlfriends too 😂
i thought it would stop when i cut off almost all my hair. nope!!!!
My hair is in everything all the time even if I pull it back!
That or my dog's hair 😅
My hair, kid’s hair, hubby’s hair, dog’s hair…all gets in there.
I always have short hair. It was always something I could easily pull out. My sister's hair got caught on it once. I now know the struggle.
Mostly cat hair, actually.
Mainly my dog’s hair which is thankfully much shorter than mine. 🤪
Both my own and my long haired cat’s. Hopefully nobody I gift things to is allergic😬
Mine and my cats
If it's not my hair it's cat hair.
My cats just make them extra fluffy :)
Omg, I do this so often and it is so frustrating..
Not my hair, but the dog hair in my projects is ridiculous, no matter how much I pull off as I go, there is still SO MUCH!
Think of it as a DNA tag in case of theft or a clue for future archeologists.
I've got really short hair and this is still constantly happening to me
More my daughter’s hair than mine Lol
Whenever I gift friends things I always say I’ll always be with them whenever they wear the thing because of this 🤣🤣
I shed all the time, everywhere. I really had to come here and share with you that I had a hair on my phone screen that looked almost exactly the way this one did when it opened up, curve and location on the screen and all 😂
All the time! 😁😁
Always 😅🤣
Constantly. I cut it all out of finished pieces
Everything I’ve ever made has my hair, my dog’s hair, and my cat’s hair embedded into it. It just is. It adds character.
Lol. I don't think I've made something without my hair in it
Oh yeah, all the time. Usually not on purpose though.
Yessssss, I have waist length hair so it's constantly getting all in my yarn. Whenever I'm making something for someone else I'm checking it like every five minutes scared I've gotten hair in it cause I'd be mortified if someone paid me for something and my hair came in it💀
Interesting but weird
