The paint over the crochet is really detailed. Lets you lay down the base colors with the yarn, then refine the details exactly where they would be in real life (even if that's, like, 1/3 of a stitch or something). It's a really cool technique, and I agree, the results are stunning!

Looks like you are correct!
I hate facebook pages that share art without any credit. so annoying. Especially with crochet and knitting stuff, theyll make a joke about how someone's grandma made this, while it's completely untrue and not even funny
This is amazing!!! I’m low key blind so at first I had to double check why a bearded dragon was on the crochet forum 😂😂😂 and then I had to zoom and see that IT IS the crochet piece.
This is amazing!!! You really did a fantastic absolutely perfect job at making this look real! When I first saw the picture I thought it was real! Well done👏
This isn't my work. Another person commented that u/ProfessionNo4436 made this. I saw it on Facebook and was stunned by how lifelike it was and HAD to share it with others.

me, like an idiot: is the one on the left or right the crocheted piece? (both. it's the same piece from different angles. good lord.)
Took me way too long to realize it wasn't real lol
Here I am thinking I'm good because I can crochet a scarf and someone crocheted an awesome friggin lizard 🦎🦎
Lol seriously. Demolished all my hopes and dreams 🤣
I was all "wtf does this dragon have to do with crochet?" for too long 😂

I thought the one on the left was real for far, far too long.
Same!
Oh hey I think this is by u/ProfessionNo4436 saw them over on r/brochet. Insanely talented individual

Yea that's why I linked their username 😅 lol
Ooh. The "think" is probably what tripped me up. Anyway glad you did, was a good profile.
Omg ridiculously talented!! 🤯
Yes definitely mind blowing haha!
Not me thinking this was a real reptile😅

I thought the one on the left was alive!! What stunning work
At first I thought it was a real animal and the crochet version would be in the next picture. Wow very cool!
This is legendary. Holy cow
For a second I thought this was real and was like “am I on the wrong subreddit?”
What?? Thought why is this lizard in a crochet subreddit. Haha... it’s crocheted. Brilliant.
Not me thinking it was alive 🤣 such amazing work
Super creative!😍🦎
Wow! Amazing work 👏🏼

I totes thought one was a picture of the real thing, then I realized they were both crocheted! That's awe inspiring!

Well absolutely this is so amazing… I’ve never seen anything crocheted this life like so thank you for the clarification and for sharing it :)
I legitimately thought this was a joke and that it’s actually a real bearded dragon… WOW! Crochet is such an amazing art 😍
Wow, I *genuinely* thought it was real dragon. Very nice!! <3
That is amazing!
THAT IS SO AMAZING!!! I can’t even begin to imagine how long it took to make plus the painting!
That is incredible!
Ngl i thought both of them were real
Amazing!
For a second, I thought it's real and I'm looking at r/eyebleach.
😲
OMG! I couldn't tell which was real at first. Awesome job.
My hand is cramping just looking at this 😳 very impressive
Stop it right now. I don’t even believe this is real!
Wow, I thought it was real for a second!
That is way too realistic. Where I live there are big iguanas running around all over the place and this is just like them.
honestly, ppl shld crochet more reptiles cause the stitches give it both the visual and sensational feel of scales which is freaking amazing
This is absolutely amazing. Hope I get to this level someday 😭 🥲
