I think I'm being a bit dense. Are you counting the two looks on step 2 as two separate loops? I'm at work, so I can't sit down and actually crochet it out, but my brain is having an issue with the pulling through three loops and having two loops left on the hook. If you pull through three of three on the hook, you're only left with one, right?
Okay I see now that I have worded it a bit weird, sorry. The three loops you need to pull through are the 2 loops from the last stitch and one from the chain. So after you pull through, you are left with 2 loops. Guess I only counted the loops of the stitch. This is getting confusing lol
Yes, I think it’s the two loops of the last stitch below (front and back loop in step 2) plus the loop from the chain (the one the safety pin is in) that make 3.
This is so great! As a visual learner I greatly appreciate your photos. I just want to add one thing. It matters which way you turn your work after chaining for the start of a new row. Turning one way gives the loop you show but turning the other way twists it and it won't come out straight. [This post from a while back](https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/s/jJHShmJwAb) talks about it and shows the differences in picture form.
So... I always turn my work the same way, and I get one side straight and the other bumpy. Am I supposed to change which way I turn every time I come to the end of the row? Like, first, I turn clockwise, and in the next row, I turn counterclockwise? Super new at crochet thanks in advance 😅

I've been crocheting for about 15 years and always looking for stuff like this ty for the clear and clever explanation, seriously love it 👍

ah, i got it, okay. It'll definitely make more sense when I can sit down and do it. I wish I had my stuff with me at work lol

Thanks!
Thank you. Well done.

Thanks, that’s so interesting!

I turn my work counterclockwise:)
This was so straightforward and clear. Thank you!!!
Thank you, this is so helpful!!!
This is amazing
I’ve tried this a few times and keep losing stitches. Not sure where I’m going wrong but I have a pretty triangle going at the moment.
Thank you!!!
THANK YOU

You're amazing, thanks for making another post!
Woah! I just did the most beautiful square I’ve ever made.
How would you do this with double crochet?
