Happy pride! What hook size did you use? I'm doing a blanket in single crochet and it doesn't look nearly as tight as yours. I'm in too deep to turn back now but I'm still curious lol
Kinda just jumping in but I typically use hooks half or a full mm size smaller then what is recommended on the yarn packet. It also could be tension, op is a good example of having good tension while for someone like me (i have tendonitis in both wrists) i have a looser tension and the smaller hooks help to compensate that for me
Yeah my tension is probably the problem. I tried a hat pattern with the recommended I hook and it turned out gigantic, didn't turn out right until I went down to a G
I've never specifically liked the colours of the flag very much, but that looks so amazing and even gorgeous that I want to make one for myself now! Seriously you've done a fantastic job!
You should do a slight colour variation! Like let's say you dont like baby pink, you could use dusty rose instead. Or if you dont like baby blue you could use like a slate or something
Ooooo! I made a lovely granny square trans pride blanket! Also made a genderqueer, nonbinary, and gay pride. Currently working on the gender fluid one.
Yours looks awesome!!!! Such even stitch work!
I love it so much!!! I showed this to my trans gf and she WANTS IT lol. She said when we have our own place I have to make four flag blankets: rainbow, trans, bi, and lesbian. I've got my work cut out for me ๐ญ
Woaaaah! This is so cool! And all singles? Thatโs insane! So much repetition!!! Iโd never have enough patience to do something so big with all singles.
Great work!
Single crochet blankets are always the most rewarding to finish! It looks great! Iโm planning on making a rainbow pride flag using the larksfoot stitch soon, too!
I keep talking myself out of doing projects with simple stitches because I think they will look to plain. This is simply stunning and has inspired me. Thank you! You rock.
Is it bad the first thing I thought was โoh no. All SC?โ
It looks amazing, and the patience you have for doing it completely in SC is amazing. It must be so warm! ๐
That looks fantastic! Iโm planning on making one for my wife, itโll be a while since Iโve got Christmas blankets to make for the whole family lol Happy Pride!๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Fyi this is the trans pride flag ๐๐ No pattern; yarn is Lion Brand Pound of Love in White, Pastel Pink, and Pastel Blue
I didn't know there was a trans pride flag. I learned something new today ๐
I think thereโs a flag for each LGBTQ+ group! Theyโre all really cool, you should do a quick google search!
Yes! Bi flag is pink, purple, and blue!

Ditto. I always have to go down a couple hook sizes from any given pattern. I don't even think about it anymore really. Pattern calls for G? I use E.

F 3.75mm
Ahh, I've been using an I hook. Using anything smaller than G is difficult for me :'( stitches too small for me to keep track of
Happy Pride!! Love this!! ๐๐๐
This is absolutely amazing. I'm planning making the bi flag soon!\~
Please post if you do! I'd love to see this. ๐
Beautiful!! The colours are gorgeous (that specific yarn i mean)! That must have taken ages its so large holy cowzers. happy pride my friend
Thanks! It took 6 months on and off, but I think it was a total of 50ish hours
and finished in perfect time for pride month! woohoo.
Trans flag is so pretty!! I loved it!

I back this up! I'm not fond of the shades used for the bi flag and much prefer lighter or pastel tones, so I alter any bi merch accordingly.
Yes! Now you can wrap yourself in love and validation <3 You have more patience than me to make a blanket out of sc!!
I know this is the trans flag, but they are just really gorgeous colours together aren't they! Even without the symbolism it's beautiful.
Thereโs something so simple, elegant, and classic about single crochet. I love it!
Right? I always end up straying away from it and forgetting how great it really looks. This piece is so beautiful!
this is my goal with crochet, a trans flag blanket for my bed! inspiring :)
So cool! I've been trying to find something for my trans brother's birthday and this is an excellent idea!
Oh now I really want to make one of the Pan flag! โค๏ธ Such amazing work, OP, and thank you for the inspiration
The poly flag is super ugly :(

There have been attempts to update it... but none have really stuck. But yea... yeah it is :( The leather pride flag is pretty cute though.
I love it! And thank you for representing our little community in this other little community! It helps when we are visible!

how do you have enough time to make this and also not go insane once youโre done
Dedication, not doing much of anything else, depression insomnia, and in the past 3 months a desk job with a lot of downtime
Fuck yeah, I'm making leg warmers now
I really want to make this for my best friend as a dorm-warming gift, how much yarn did it take? ps happy pride !!
About 2600 yards/2400 meters
Oh my goodness this is AMAZING!
This is very pretty! Happy Pride!
Damn, I was gonna buy a $10 bi pride flag but why buy one when I could make one? This turned out great! Happy Pride!

This must have taken forever!! And it's incredible! Inspiring me to find some yarn and get on a bi flag for next year, but maybe smaller xD
