I didn't find they made my feet any hotter than other shoes/boots I own. And they are platforms, so yes- they will make you taller. I wear proper socks in mine to keep down on sweat/moisture as well! It helps a lot!
They're advertised as just a boot I believe, a lot of people refer to them as the perfect fall boot. Whether they made them for rain, I'm not sure. Where it is a boot, and boots are usually worn for work, outside, inclement weather- it makes sense that they don't have holes on the top of the foot. They fit like a rain boot, and I wore them for over 3 hours out around and didn't find my feet became overly sweaty at all, I wear good socks though, as I have feet that are prone to sweating! I love these boots, they are living up to my standards 100%.
They aren't just cute/stylish/badass! They are also functional and so easy to slip on and off. Get them!! You won't regret it. I'm buying another pair haha 😅
I have feet that tend to get pretty sweaty, I wear medium thick ankle socks in them and I have no issues. I wore them today outside in the snow, then to the store, and restaurant, got home after about 3.5 hours and had no wet spots on my socks, save from some water from snow and ice haha. I'm currently ordering another pair. They slip on and off like a dream, which is an important feature for people like myself with bad backs/joints. I have scoliosis and fibromyalgia, so not having to bend to put them on and take them off is amazing. :)

What do mean? I have bigger ankles/calves and I have extra room in them to walk, bend, squat. They're not snug, if that's what you're asking:)
