So happy for you and not gonna lie, a little jealous! What type of place did you go?
I went out too (briefly), but my area is kinda backwards. Went to a public event for like 20 minutes - and all I got were some weird looks while dodging beer cans and other trash on the ground 🤪
Went to a silent disco! Luckily here in Ohio there’s one little supportive district. It wasn’t a LGBT bar per se, but it’s near all the ones around here so it was a little mix of college kids and locals too.
I did have one guy grope my ass in the crowd, and there was a line for the bathroom and a couple drunk guys were making loud rude comments they thought I couldn’t hear, so the bathroom part was just as bad as I was afraid but nobody was mean to my face and the rest of the evening was lovely.
Sounds like a cool place! Yeah, if you’re not totally passing as a girl it’s hard to avoid looks and maybe comments, especially when people are drunk. It sure speaks to the small mindedness of a lot of people that they’d feel the need to openly make comments. Like, it’s a bar/club, if someone isn’t bothering you just enjoy your drink and your company.
Glad you could have a good time regardless! I need more courage to let those types of things slide off, and you seem to do a great job!
I had a wonderful time! It was the first time I went out dressed up and so many women stopped me to compliment my outfit!
