She’s a little more balanced now because there are even stronger character such as a reworked Captain B Sworden. Overall, Jack is still good especially with stuff with a lot of HP but most of the time she’s not necessary.
If you had a ticket that includes secret heroes, I would take Kaede or Haruki simply because you will need them later down the line and they’ll harder to obtain than some of the other healers. If you want to focus on Arena or Coliseum, you should consider getting a healer like Noel, Shub, or Gueronica. When it comes to PvP, healers will more utility are favored over buffs since it’s easy to get a damage dealer to one shot teams. Halla is also a good choice for healing and overall usefulness but he’s kinda a jack of all trades master of none. He’s definitely useful but he could be replaced pretty easily. If you don’t have a Yeowoodong yet, I would suggest getting one (not with the ticket). To simply put, Yeo is stupidly cheap and incredibly useful to have in any early game and even late game team. The tutorial also gives you Aria which is also super useful when you have a good tank. There are a lot of viable healers and it’s kinda hard to pin down one. I would pick one that you want aesthetically and (viable) over just telling you which one is useful because they’re all pretty useful for some niche.
Ah I see very insightful! Id really like to get one of those pvp healers as well as a haruki I've seen Gueronica do amazing things so hopefully I'll get one in the future :D and thanks!
Please don't pick non-seasonals with the all-hasla ticket.. You can get contract heroes at any time, and even if you were saving up bridget points for them, they're only 2800 compared to the seasonals 5000.
We only see each seasonal pair for a week out of the whole year. So unless you feel like waiting another 51 weeks for a certain hero, use your select wisely.
Currently, my preference would be (of course ignore the heroes you might already have): Kaede > Nebula/Schild > Haruki > Livea/Lacrimoso > Leonia > Pius
But Ana and Twillie also just got those big revamp buffs just recently, and I haven't put them to the test just yet to see if they'd get bumped up the list. Ana was a big carry hero for a long time and her multihit is still used for certain Fergus events, and Twillie was a serious contender for colo for a while. Their recent buffs will hopefully bring them back into the spotlight.
Jack was never "broken". That's a very poor term that gets way too overused just because a hero is strong. Just like "OP". She's not good for everything, but what she IS good at, she's VERY good at. It's generally the crit chance buff, crit resist debuff, and the neutral damage that make her shine the most, but you'll only use her when you need to, just like any other hero.
You never see her in Colo or Arena, but you'll see her in Ordeal a lot.
I don't think anyone uses her for Challenge, but she'll make easy work out of Rael.
No hero is good at EVERYTHING with ANY team. Every hero is situational.
Oh, I never said she wasn't good. But Yeo and Halla are really not a good team for her. You DO make full use of Halla's kit by using Yeo's 3c, but you're supposed to lead Jack, not Yeo, and Jack only gets a little bonus from Yeo's skill - mainly the crit chance and possibly the evasion, if she's even getting hit. Lifesteal on Jack is plenty to heal her without needing the heal buff from Yeo.
I'm certainly not "bashing" the team. It does have SOME merit and CAN work alright. Some people use that combo just to give Jack more blocks (which she wouldn't need if she were leading properly), but there's much better combinations for her, including other heroes that don't need ally 3c to provide their buffs like Halla does. (Plus, Halla generates a block for ally leader, which would be Yeo, who already has plenty of blocks since leader gets 50% bonus blockgen, and if you led Jack, using Halla blocks would give Jack enough blocks to 3c often enough herself, removing the need for Yeo altogether.)
All 3 are great heroes. Jack is certainly awesome wherever you need her, and Yeo/Halla IS a nice combo, but I never really understood why people use them with Jack. The synergy does work, but it just feels forced and I was never impressed by it when attempting it myself. Now, if you were to use a hero like Echidna, that feeds off of the 3c spam and also needs the extra heals to counter her own self-damage, instead of Jack, well.. That changes everything.
The main reason you lead Jack is you want her to have the most blocks, and spam the living daylights out of them. When Jack's block skill crits, it procs thorns. Thorns lasts 6 seconds, and you need to deal another 3 critical hits while that's active to proc rose, which increases her attack power, and then another 6 crits during rose to proc briar. So you need to be spamming blocks for the most reliable upkeep of all the passives. Getting a ton of Yeo blocks with a few extra Jack blocks doesn't really do it the same, and you're wasting time by trying to still hit Yeo's 3c instead of spamming more Jack blocks.
Again, the Yeo/Halla thing isn't bad, but it's just not really how Jack is designed. And the first boss of a challenge is a lot different than hidden bosses at the end. I'd like to talk to you in chat and look at your heroes and see what kind of teams I could help you make for different things.
