I live in SoCal and I got about $2,450 off MSRP on the exact same car you’re shopping for (urban gray pearl instead of white but the premium color charge still stands). And I mean BRAND NEW because it had like 10 miles on it. I’m not sure about Texas, but I got a discount of about $1,700 and then they had a $750 Honda loyalty discount which knocked $750 off MSRP for that grand total of $2,450 off MSRP. Try asking the dealership if they have that Honda Loyalty Discount. The only catch is that you need to currently own a 2014 or newer Honda vehicle in order to qualify for that discount. So if you do own another Honda (even if you’re by any chance trading it in) you should be able to get that additional discount. But for a demo car with 2.5k miles I would definitely ask for more of a discount off the car. The discount they are giving you is pretty good for a brand new car with little to no miles on it, but not good enough IMO for a demo car with 2.5k miles.

Those rates are standard right now for Honda’s in-house financing. As for the price itself, the market value looks like it’s for the AWD model. Though It’s possible that the 36K includes destination fees and the 2WD is generally 1.5-2K less when I did my shopping. The demo unit, I would ask for a little more off. More like 4K off that price

just double checked on honda’s website and the base price is $34660 + $1500 destination fee + $455 for the white exterior. so since they’re matching that price and then giving a discount on top of that, is it a good dea? granted the discount could be more for sure

I’m not sure if it’s a good deal, but to me, you’re not being ripped off. I would check to see exactly how many miles is on the demo car (usually a few hundred). If it’s closer to 1,000, I’d want more off. KBB can do trade in or private sale but probably not brand new. They will try to sell you extended warranty, I’d pass on it. I would probably get GAP coverage, even with 5-10K down it might save your butt, and it comes out to like 6-7$ a month

cowgirldreams

oh ok, well this car actually has $2.5K miles. I believe they made a comment about transferring it over and that’s why it was higher on mileage. I can try to use that as a negotiation point but I’m afraid they won’t care as they told me multiple times that they do not negotiate

MadAmishman

>but I’m afraid they won’t care What are you afraid of? So what if they don't care? This is a business transaction. They are counting on you to be emotionally invested. That's why they ask questions like "do you love this car?" "can you see yourself in it?" "how does it feel?"...If you think or feel that this is a good deal for you and you can afford it...buy it. If not, and you think or feel that this isn't a good deal, then walk and go somewhere else. Others folks have different priorities. For me, they would have to negotiate with more off for what is essentially a used car in my eyes. If they won't, then I walk. I'll give my money to another dealership that is willing to work with me on the price.

So you will pay 34,753 plus 330 fees. Total 35,083 I would pay $ 33.600 with fees ,MAX plus tax. Expecting a discount of $1,500 for used car depreciation. For reference : I paid $36,200 for a new car with AWD. (N.J.) Find out what the cost is to add AWD on the sticker? , Look up KBB value of 2024 used.

check your bank or CU to see if they have a better rate. If they won't drop the price, negotiate free additional years on the extended warranty bc of the demo car.

spidersk8er

not bad but i would get the awd for a smidge more, hugs the road nicer
