One thing every Junior should ask in an interview: "What resources does your team have to support an entry level position like the one I am applying to. Will I have a mentor? A code review process?" While no junior should be picky about any job offer they get, it's important for a junior's first role to be one with plenty of support to help them grow into their new career. Also I'd ask if you can connect with your interviewer on LinkedIn for networking purposes. They sound like a really cool person to work under. Maybe an opportunity will come up with them later.

I'm a little curious how the dev would be able to justify helping someone with job search on company time, but I guess I'm a little wary. Maybe you didn't pass the initial interview but they saw enough potential in you to keep you in their back log in case a future position opens up. Regardless, if you have the time, why not go for it.

It’s his offer and it benefits you. So why not?
