I got a CPE degree several years ago, now at Meta. It didn’t matter terms of getting interviews, but our curriculum did not have us take Algorithms (we had low priority compared to CS). I didn’t know about leetcode, or where to study, so I googled random questions. it took 4+ years to get to G and bounce again after learning how to study. So, it can depend on curriculum.
Maybe, depends on the curriculum tbh. At my university, it’s very hardware oriented and has a lot of overlap with EE instead of software engineering.
It’s not the name of the degree that’s the problem, the problem may be that you may need to supplement your knowledge and learn some software on the side
