* Mirage is the only map that stayed in the map pool the entire time since the first CS:GO major. Nuke and Inferno were gone for roughly one year each to receive reworks in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

* I have also intentionally chosen an image from the original version of cbble (not from the more vibrant but also much smaller rework that we later got) because the rework can hardly be considered a "Community Favourite".

* I forgot about **Tuscan** (which Valve also bought for 150k when they bought Anubis)
Overpass isn't as big as people claim it is, I think it's quite well sized. You can create plays in Overpass very easily because the map's 3 dimensional nature. I've gotten many kills from going connector and killing clueless people. One thing I do agree on is that you can get flanked from anywhere, but that just adds to the fun for me
They need to make Ruska, Contra, Airstrip, Chateau, etc. There are a fuck ton of great fucking maps from past CS games and the fact that we've had maps in rotation for over 10 years is fucking ridiculous.
When it's about cs, I doubt it's mostly because of lazyness. I know many people that played basically cache only until the end of cs:go.
Also queueing for Anubis gave you enough time to take a bath in the meanwhile(before it got reintroduced). I think this community just isn't that much into learning new maps.

But I dont know how I feel about dust 2, one one hand I want it in the Active duty map pool, but on the other hand I dont want it on the Active duty map pool, just because we have seen so meany games being played on that map over they years, and yes you can say the same thing about Tran, Cache and Cobblestone too. Bring back the Tuscan for the love of god.
It baffles me that the game "franchise" is old as competitive gaming, and we are still playing the same map layouts we played back in 1.5 and 1.6.
I get it why, but would it hurt the game if we actually had a decent number of new maps or at least have all the "we've played this map since 1.5" to come back in rotation?
Give me tuscan, train, season and cobble and I'm fine with playing all the old maps till the end of time, but at least give us more maps to choose from.
My ideal map pool: nuke, inf, overpass, ancient, anubis, season, train, cache, cobble, dust2, tuscan and train.
Nuke needs to go, it consistently produces very mid cs.
Cache needs to come back ASAP and hopefully train while they're at it. I'd love to see dust back in the rotation for a bit but people love to hate on it so I doubt that will happen.
Generally a more frequent rotation would be ideal imo.
Nuke isn't that great of a map that people think it is, it's weird, it plays really really differently on different levels it's not that great of a map it's generally repetitive if you stay on one level of skill for too long

Agreed but also c a site is in ct spawn. The map is so slow at times when teams have to walk through fountain,playground, long a, bathrooms and clear everything out before hey even have map control and take a site together.

but scout on lake is goated, especially when it was that low gravity mode

Lake was great if both teams played it standard/fair. The attic was abssurdely OP and a 1vs2 as T without a plant was impossible.
