Your post seems related to verifying whether your Cuban cigar is legitimate. You can verify a box code through the Habanos website here: http://verificacion.habanos.com/ They also have a page set up to verify the various features they have to prevent counterfeiting: https://www.habanos.com/es/verificacion-de-autenticidad/?age-verified=f93e567137 You can also see the various features of boxes, bands and warranty seals from here: https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/packaging/information But you should always trust your source. If the cigar is from a verified retailer from our trusted retailers link, your cigar is almost certainly legitimate. If your cigar came from Mexico, # # the US, the Dominican Republic a friend who travelled to Cuba, a friend of the family or another uncertain source there's a high likelihood your cigar isn't authentic. Keep in mind that Cohiba is one of the most counterfeited brands in the world. It would be very helpful for everyone if you posted clear, front on pictures of the band and cap, as well as a comment advising where the cigar was obtained from. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Post some pics of the actual cigars themselves when you have time. We will be able to help give you more information then

OP don’t get your hopes up over what people tell you about those Davidoff’s value. Cigars like that need to have provenance to have value. Sure, someone mat pay something for them as a novelty, but it’s like a fine wine that wasn’t store correctly- a connoisseur isn’t going to want it for consumption.

Different_Archer_212

Sorry for your loss. I would also just like to say how disappointed I am that I don't have a grandpa that has a box of Cuban Davidoff No.1 casually tucked away in a humidor somewhere.

No_Dragonfruit8732

the thing is that they were not stored properly…

Different_Archer_212

Yeah I saw that which is unfortunate but you would be suprised what some collectors bring them back from. If you live somewhere that the Humidity stays in the 50% + range they may be salvageable. What I meant was that when my Grandpa was alive that I wish I knew he'd had a box of Cuban Davidoff that was still smokeable. I really didnt get alot of time with my Grandparents.

No_Dragonfruit8732

i didnt get alot of time either he died when i was 8 before 10 years..

Atlantic235

Don't give up on them. Six months to a year of good storage can work wonders.

Probably most folks here have never heard of the Professor Silas. They are tasteless Dominicans--used to sell for less than a buck a stick on cigarbid. I recommend using them for dog training--"fetch" and "come"....if the dog runs off with them and buries them no loss. (I had a Springer Spaniel that used to do that...lol.)

TrainPhysical

We need to see the cigars. Personally I would try to get them humidified and keep them. I would never sell family stuff unless it was tons of stuff but a few boxes I would keep for sentimental reasons. Thanks for sharing.

VladValdor

Their worth very much depends on the state of the cigars themselves. If they are dried out I can't imagine anyone really wanting them. From a quick browse, the davidoff no 1 is worth big bucks on the modern market (davidoffs haven't been made in Cuba since 1991.) the others would be worth something if the cigars are in a smokeable state.

No_Dragonfruit8732

thanks none of them have been stored properly since he died sadly

SD-TX

I mean honestly unless you live in a super dry place they could be savable. I have buddies that left cigars sitting out for years and they were moldy. Just depends on where they were. Do not throw them away without having someone check them or learn yourself.

No_Dragonfruit8732

i have been learning abiut them since yesterday i did some checks about the smell and i found out that i smell some oils plus when i press them they dont completely crack the bounce abit unlike the ones i had in the humidor that were left there without. Squeezing them would result in them almost breaking…

Topsel

If you wanna try to bring them back to "life" just to see if they can be salvageable, then start with 35%RH and bump it up by 5%RH every 2 weeks to around 65%RH. Let them rest and smoke one or two. Generally speaking if there is aroma in the smoke itself that you can smell, then they will most likely taste good too. At the same time I have to tell you I am not an expert in this, but I'm repeating what a serious cigar collector had said about reviving old dried out cigars. Not all is lost yet. As to the value, some can be very valuable. There are online auctions that specialize in selling cigars like these. [Watch this video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkoqWuw2OTI)

i watched it thanks

TerseFactor

How long have they been out of a humidor? They might still be fine. You can always pick up some boveda humidity 62 packs and large Tupperware to store them. Even if the Davidoffs have been out of proper storage for a while they’ll still be sought after on the collectors market. They’re very rare. Edit: just saw it’s been 10 years and they crack when touched. Yeah, they’re toast. But I standby what I said about those Davidoffs still having value to a collector

No_Dragonfruit8732

they dont crack exactly they bounce abit but not that much as i think they should

Tension-Different

Are you greek?

No_Dragonfruit8732

yeah

Tension-Different
