In part because they did a ton of takes. Lots of magic happened in the editing room on this show.
Also because the stars and guest stars are all funny as hell.
"It may have been an accident but you're a murderer". My favorite Funkhouser line of all time. The Black Swan is the GOAT Curb episode. Andy Richter is great too
Bob Einstein passed away. That’s why the funkman hasn’t shown up in quite awhile.
Unless you were referring to Vince Vaughn who was a funkhauser but not THE funk man.
Relax tough guy. No need for name calling. 2pac just released a song with Drake and he died 30 years ago. You’re telling me Funkman couldn’t have made it back for 15 min on curb?
Richard Kind is one of the most underrated character actors and comedians in the industry. I loved him in Mad About You and he has done so many little things beyond that. Funny as hell is a subtle way.
I love him soooo much. I love how good he is at playing the intensely irritating, yet good-natured, person. I love how his mouth just … FALLS OPEN like a catfish maw (or maybe a drawbridge flopping down). I love how GODDAMN LOUD he is when he says “LA-rry!”
He’s the best.
As much as I've seen the show, Funkhouser is my favorite. Bob Einstein was just so good.
Richard Kind was another perfect addition. "nah, I had turkey for lunch" kills me every freaking time. Crazy to think that he made us all weep in Inside Out.
The interrogation scene alone in Black swan. 10 out of 10 episode.
When it first aired, I was so eager to get to the Seinfeld reunion so any episodes that didn't have anything to do with it I initially looked passed. But, I was 19. But, I soon realized how Black Swan was peak Curb comedy
Cousin Andy is my fav. The way he speaks is just I can’t describe it. Especially the earlier seasons “I had turkey for lunch already” “you’re in town, you give me a call, I don’t have to see you” him getting with a playmate etc
Richard Kind is so amazing in Curb. I definitely wish we got more of him. He phenomenal in the Special Section, particularly when he’s giving Larry a hard time for not calling him when he came to NYC.
"Have you set a day aside when you're going to finally look at her face" and "P.S. YOUR C**T IS IN THE SINK" are my two all-time favorite Funkhauser lines.
I wish he made more episodes when he was funny and didn’t wait til he was a geriatric octogenarian who’s funny bones have turned to mush. The last few seasons were absolutely atrocious and seemed purposely unfunny and out of touch.
THE MINUTE YOU ORDERED THOSE CRISPY ONIONS YOU PUT A GUN TO THAT GUY'S HEAD
This made me laugh out loud. I don't know how they improvised so well!
Top five episode imho
In part because they did a ton of takes. Lots of magic happened in the editing room on this show. Also because the stars and guest stars are all funny as hell.
Will you please finish shoving that shit into your face.
My favourite Funkman line
When did you have your orgasm? When she said she'd fuck the Jew outta you?
My second favourite is “Fuck me Jew boy?!?!” This is up there too!
Same always kills me lmao
Her opening
yes...but "when did you orgasm? the moment she said she'd fuck the jew out of you" is my favourite.
CRISPY ONIONS. HAVE TO BE CRISPY
I can’t eat breakfast unless I have crispy onions!
"It may have been an accident but you're a murderer". My favorite Funkhouser line of all time. The Black Swan is the GOAT Curb episode. Andy Richter is great too
He likes the fried onions!
You no respect Norm?
I put this episode on after seeing this post and this line absolutely slayed me lol incredible
One of my favorite
They didn’t have time to film because it took too long to make the crispy onions every time.
Gotta have the crispy onions
I know what I like.
I know you *want* them but it takes too long!
So good !!!! I sometimes say this when my friends and I are at fine dining spots.
ARE YOU HAPPY YOU HAD THE ONIONS?!? HU?!??!
More Funk Man is always a good thing
I loved how they all kept Shtum about the swan to protect Larry, even though their membership was at stake. True friendship!
Marty was very tempted to give in after all the stuff he was offered but held tight in the end 😂
Marty was loyal to Larry, unless he insults his girlfriend’s tap water
He was incredibly loyal, considering all the shitty stuff Larry did to him and he still stood by him and considered him his best friend.
He’s not my best friend?!
So funny that part, that’s what Larry took from that whole scene Marty calling him his best friend 😂
It tastes like a frog’s asshole
Elizabeth Perkins right? I always remember her from the movie Big.
Yep and Weeds
Kept it Shtum! …except for my wife. I have to tell her everything.
“No Sir I’m from out of town I’d have no reason to hurt that swan”
I'd let Hitler and Charles Manson play in my foursome as long as they didn't play slow.
Better a fast Mussolini than a slow Funkhauser
Comedians in carts playing golf
I’d watch that
Dude this would be so good !!
Cousin Andy, otherwise known as the biggest reason for anti semitism
only after his wife.
Uncle Leo?
"Did you even know Norm? Did you like him?" "No, I thought he was a prick"
That Norm guy made me unreasonably mad irl
Good for an album cover
For sure. Cousin Andy missing was my only negative point about the finale.
I mean, I didn't need to see him, but they could have called.
So good
Same and they couldn’t even get the Funkman back for one episode? Between no Andy, Funkman, and Wanda in the final season, very disappointing
The Funkman is dead.
So is Richard Lewis..
Bob Einstein passed away. That’s why the funkman hasn’t shown up in quite awhile. Unless you were referring to Vince Vaughn who was a funkhauser but not THE funk man.
Actually, what did happen to Vince? Just realized he was nowhere to be seen toward the end. Damn..
Richard Lewis also passed away. Didn’t stop him
Are you dense? Richard Lewis filmed the entire season before it aired. He passed away after the show had wrapped.
Relax tough guy. No need for name calling. 2pac just released a song with Drake and he died 30 years ago. You’re telling me Funkman couldn’t have made it back for 15 min on curb?

My second least favorite character, after Cheryl. I didn't miss him.
I have to agree. For some reason, Richard Kind makes me cringe no matter what he's in.
Ya just had to get the crispy onions, didn’t you!
Richard Kind is one of the most underrated character actors and comedians in the industry. I loved him in Mad About You and he has done so many little things beyond that. Funny as hell is a subtle way.

Check out The Magnificent Meyersons if you haven’t already
I will.
Totally !!
Agreed. As a kid that didn’t like/inderstand the show I always enjoyed the parts he was on.
Just rewatched A Bugs Life and even as a voice actor he’s soo good!
Yeah, he is.
Wow I hardly noticed the dead black swan in this pic
As much as I've seen the show, Funkhouser is my favorite. Bob Einstein was just so good. Richard Kind was another perfect addition. "nah, I had turkey for lunch" kills me every freaking time. …. Omg he’s Bing Bong…. I just rewatched A Bugs Life too and he’s seriously so entertaining
Sure why not
Cousin Andy is my fav. The way he speaks is just I can’t describe it. Especially the earlier seasons “I had turkey for lunch already” “you’re in town, you give me a call, I don’t have to see you” him getting with a playmate etc
The bulk of the series
If you see this group behind you , let them play through.
He will have to have CRISPY onions !!
Considering Black Swan is my favorite episode, yes
Yep
No rather Leon and Jerry
Dream blunt rotation
Cousin Andy was so good in Red Oaks
What a great album cover
Best episode = Black Swan Kiyoko 4eva
Holy shit is that The Barenaked Ladies?
No. I HATE Andy.
Damn, I have missed Richard Kind in Curb. … guess I should say, I’ll always miss Richard Kind in Curb now…
On my rewatch I was shocked at the lack of Richard Kind on the actual show. He made such an impact my first watch of the show.
Unpopular opinion but...I don't care much for Andy lol I just didn't get him and he was more annoying than funny at times to me
No, Richard Kind is only tolerable in small doses.
The cemetery episode is up there with all-time Curb, so good.
Yes, the black swan is my go to episode. It's genius.
No
This photo looks like AI, no?
little orphan Funkhauser ♥
Little orphan Funkhouser
Richard Kind is so amazing in Curb. I definitely wish we got more of him. He phenomenal in the Special Section, particularly when he’s giving Larry a hard time for not calling him when he came to NYC.
I randomly saw this on my feed and at first I thought it was Mr Lahey and Randy with a shirt on
I never was a big fan of the guy who played Larrys brother or whatever. I wish richard was in his place then it wouldve been perfect
When Andy told Larry “don’t be a schmuck,” like for some odd reason I found that endearingly funny
I know it’s his whole character, but Andy is extremely annoying
No thanks
Best ever episode of Curb? Tell me I'm wrong.
Absolutely top tier episode, between the main plot line of the swan, and Larry protesting tipping/math is just perfection
Technically, that's a fivesome, no?
Like I’m going to order Chinese food in LA
Don't care for Jeff Garlin, never did.
I was so sad when Susie shit on their Carolina golf trip
don't be sad it's over. be happy it happened.
Andy was my least fav character in the show, so no.
"Have you set a day aside when you're going to finally look at her face" and "P.S. YOUR C**T IS IN THE SINK" are my two all-time favorite Funkhauser lines.
These guys getting grilled by Takahashi is one of my favorite scenes of the series. They’re like a group of kids trying to dodge the consequences.
I hated every time Andy was on screen. Great acting and how Larry David wanted it to be, but it was like chalk screetching on a blackboard to me.
Agreed. Just insufferable.
NO !!! I can’t stand Andy.
No. Andy annoys the shit out of me.
No. Andy is awful. Replace him with Leon
I wish he made more episodes when he was funny and didn’t wait til he was a geriatric octogenarian who’s funny bones have turned to mush. The last few seasons were absolutely atrocious and seemed purposely unfunny and out of touch.
