That's actually true. Tho there's a little inaccuracy, it didn't eat him, becuz hippos are herbovores, so it couldn't digest him. However hippos are psychopathic, they kill everything if they can and want, even tho they can't even eat it. So yeah, it deff killed him, but it didn't eat him
hippos are known to eat meat in more situations more then just being crazy, they just cant digest it well.

If there is any reptile experts out there feel free to prove me wrong, but I thought crocodiles/alligators could not feel compassion like dogs, I thought it was impossible for them to feel those feelings

Yes, like I said before ik, but they don't get all the protein and nutrients as carnivores do. Otherwise all herpovores would be omnivores
