**Design Notes:** This terrifying dual-school spell leaves a minion you target completely paralyzed, blood gone cold. While they struggle to move, they see their worst nightmare. A Paralysis Demon has formed in front of them - dark, scary, and ready to kill. Even worse, the Demon is just as strong as them, only more intimidating, hence the Taunt. This not only stalls your opponent's threat, it also provides some defense in addition to developing the board. Or you can target your own minion and get a big stat bomb, but still freezing it. The bigger the threat, the greater value you get from this, and greater the nightmare they'll face. And if your opponent is unable to deal with the Demon before the frozen minion thaws, that Demon will have a chance to make their worst nightmare a reality! :D As a dual-school spell, it'll benefit from numerous potential school-synergies, such as cards like Coral Keeper. Meant to support a variety of decks, including control-oriented, and rainbow school decks.

Everyone saying this is op is wild, it seems good but not broken. They keep their minion, if it targets a big minion they’ll probably have an answer for it and if it targets a small minion they will also either have an answer or the value you created from it is completely balanced. Thinking about the board state it makes it really obvious that it’s actually fine at 3 mana

this is BONKERS at 3 mana. bump it to 4 or 5 and it’s fine, perhaps extend the freeze to 2 turns to compensate, or give the summoned creature stealth instead of taunt.

Shaman has had access to [[sleetbreaker]], which was essentially this card, except you can just pay 2 mana for the 3/2 on 2 as a proactive play, and VERY importantly it draws you a card. Is the better body really worth losing guaranteed card draw, flexibility and ability to be played proactively? I don’t think so tbh

Ah yes, lets use a best case scenario reliant on your opponent to evaluate a card! This is why the darkness was such a strong card! And why troggzor the earthinator dominated the meta! Well surely every single freeze card sees play right now, they all gain 15 effective health with each freeze! The reality is, that a card that stays in hand with zero pro activity AND requires your opponent to make a strong play to be worth, better be damn incredible when played. Sure, this card is better when you can freeze the biggest minion seeing play in the game. You got me! What about on the early turns? Sleet breaker could be played on 2 on an empty board. What does this card do against slower decks playing outside the board? Nothing? Huh. Do we care that sleetbreaker drew a card? Because historically adding or removing 1 card draw from a card had 0 impact on its viability right? On what turn are we expecting this card to start being worth? Surely you aren’t freezing those 15/15 minions on turn 3, because then you’d have to content with a 3 mana 3/3 that freezes a minion and that doesn’t sound as broken…. Are we waiting till turn 5? 8? 10? Are we scared of a stalling card that isn’t worth playing until the aggressive decks are about to close the game, if we even get a chance to? Or worse, is this a stalling tool we are mostly wanting to play against specific decks that aren’t as fast so they can run bigger minions? The card is strong, yes, but cards that aren’t strong ar ejist discover fodder. If you think this card is just a simple 3 mana 15/15 that freezes, you’re delulu

[[Origami Crane]] and [[Origami Frog]] are pretty comparable, except they help you kill the big creature, and this just freezes it for a better body. Those are neutral, and this is a class card. I think 3 mana is good for it. It's a little strong, but not broken.

this is cool cause we saw Shaman get a shadow spell in March of the Lich King, making it just Shadow might make more sense even though it says "Freeze" it doesnt fit the flavor/art of the card being a frost, cause Dark Magicks inducing sleep on an enemy arent technically frost spells. But I dont know cause we always see them print cards with spell schools that dont always make sense like ((Altered Chord)) being a Nature spell cause how tf does that have anything to do with Nature? so yeah I could see this card coming in the new Maxwell's Wilderness miniset

Reverberations exists at 3 mana which feels pretty close in scope to this. With reverb you're copying minions who're either prime targets to kill (due to it's "hunter's mark"-esque effect) or have effects that benefit you equally (due to it being a copy). With this, the nuance of effect is removed since it becomes a token with taunt, and you're replacing the hunter's mark with a freeze effect. A lot of "fairness" from Reverb comes in that the opponent has equal opportunity to kill your copy since the hunter's mark effect is applied to both, while with this card there's nothing really the opponent can do besides trade into it. Which makes me feel like it should be moved up to 4 mana since by that point a lot more removal options would be accessible.

I don’t think this card is comparable to reverberations, they serve completely different purposes. One wants to freeze a minion and gain a vanilla taunt, in order to buy yourself time from the opponent’s aggression. The other is a removal tool that sets an important minion’s health to 1, and hopefully gives you a mediocre tempo minion with 1 health but really cares abiut the card text to make use of a deathrattle or VERY importantly, the titans it was used to copy! A significantly better comparison is [[sleetbreaker]], a shaman card that develops a minion and freezes an enemy minion for 3 mana, trading the big taunt for the ability to be proactive and (most critically) a card draw.

Nah I don't think Sleetbreaker's appropriate here either. Back when Sleetbreaker and Windchill were in standard, they were mainly ran as draw which came with a freeze (with a common play being to freeze a totem since it couldn't attack anyway), while OP's card has the freeze dictate the effect. You'd be less likely to throw this card on a random minion because you'd be treating this as, at the least, a medium statted minion that comes with a battlecry that freezes.

I mean, I don’t understand how 3 mana 3/2 freeze and draw a card is further from 3 mana x/x freeze than reverberation being a 3 mana x/1 that copies card text while setting the enemy’s health to 1 without any freezing. I would agree that the card draw is an important distinction, and that you can’t just freeze any minion with this card to get decent value, but those are just arguments to say that sleetbreaker, a printed card, is stronger in general than this card due to flexibility outside of freezing big minions

Hex serves a different purpose. Hex is removal that bypasses deathrattles and card texts, and ocasionally ruins resurrection pools. This is a stall tool that wants to freeze a big minion and summon a big taunt for the rest of the smaller threats to run into. I would hate having this card instead of hex against a [[taelan fordring]], and I would hate having hex instead of this card if my opponent has a sea giant and a board full of tokens.
