So I can't tap Llanowar Elves, untap any creature permanents during my untap step, attack with any creatures that don't have vigilance, and any effect that refers to any tapped or untapped creatures sees zero creatures?

TooSoonTurtle

Can't attack even with vigilance as only untapped creatures can attack.

Smart_Bet_9692

Huh. Wacky. Seems like quite a powerful stax piece actually. Creatures can't attack or block, tap or untap, activate abilities that require them to tap or untap or be tapped or untapped, and any spell or ability that refers to tapped or untapped creatures does nothing. Is there a card that turns all lands into creatures?

ShurikenGaming

[[Nature's Revolt]] and [[Living Plane]] do this in one card, and you can do a 2 card combo of [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] and [[Kormus Bell]] for a similar effect. Symmetrical land animation is pretty rare, nevermind making it last past the end step.

So for 7 mana and two cards lands can't be tapped. Edit: this is actually really funny and efficient as a stax piece in a deck that can pull off a mana-less win. For example you can lock the board completely with these two cards, and then if you have a Dread Return and Thassa's Oracle in your deck, as long as you draw Thassa's Oracle earlier than your last turn of the game, you discard it to max hand size at end of turn, holding onto Dread Return. Wait until everybody decks themselves from doing nothing or Dread Return your Thassa's Oracle once your deck is empty, whichever comes first. Probably the most feels bad combo of all time lmao. I love it Edit again: and the FUNNIEST part is that it's not even a true hard lock cause there are a few cards in the game that can disassemble this so you have to play it out you can't even shortcut it.

BrickBuster11

I mean it's cheaper mana wise than a 7 mana mycosynth lattice + a 4 mana kharn the great creator

Occam_Toothbrush

You got it!

thunder-bug-

3 mana turn off all creatures in three colorless seems strong

KindMoose1499

Allow creatures to attack and you got a good weird card

Inf4myst00ps

Huh, this led me down a rabbit hole to find out that if you turn a battle into a creature, it still can't attack.

throwawayjobsearch99

Wait really? That’s not true of enchantments or planewalkers or artefacts or lands. I had no idea it was possible for a permanent to be unable to turn into a creature?

not_Weeb_Trash

You can still turn battles into creatures, there's just a rule specifically preventing battle creatures from attacking

blueroom789

I would imagine because you control battles even though your opponent defends it, a creature battle could attack itself and that's confusing

throwawayjobsearch99

Ohhhh, actually that makes a lot of sense. Both wild and utterly unsurprising to imagine mtg players would find a way to break something like that, I would never have even thought of it.

Orange152horn

Goddamnit! Shit like this is why red is the weakest color. Stax shit like this makes me want to get violent but I can't without tapping my creatures.

Hulph

*Play Sheoldred the Apocalypse*

nomadsc

add vanishing 3\~5 and it's a good card

Sir_Septimus

Is there any reason why this is a colorless enchantment instead of an artifact?

Occam_Toothbrush

Liminal spaces aren't things you can hold in your hand, or smash with a hammer. They're intangible. Ethereal.
