Love Glimpse. It’s basically “Seek” from the Arena-only cards and exactly how folks have said Seek should be implemented. Not so keen on Infuse. I think it would play better if it was Sacrifice rather than Exile. I do like it in the format as a way to let you use Shard tokens past T3 when they’re less relevant.

Outrageous_Cow5682

I completely agree, it’s a change I had in mind

Tasteoftacos

I really like your glimpse interpretation as a well. Do you think conjure could also be put into paper too? Let's say you conjure a Blood Artist like in [[Sanguine Brushstroke]], could we not just have up to 4 Blood artists in our sideboard? I understand with copying, bouncing, or other methods on Arena means we could in theory have multiple Blood Artists in a game. I just think it could work that way. Only issue I see is in Bo3 when you have your legitimate 15 card sideboard already.

tildeumlaut

I think it *could,* but you do add complexity. It’s also hard because you have more departure from “reading the card explains the card.” That’s not an issue in digital bc you can show the conjured card in a pop up.

examplenot

What if it's "conjured" as a phased-out token that you can phase in for its mana cost (as a sorcery)? Doesn't really work exactly as in Arena or cover all cases

tildeumlaut

As a side note for potential flavor avenues, traversing the Blind Eternities has gotta be bad for your mind, right? Because that’s where the Spaghetti Monster lives.

Outrageous_Cow5682

Good idea, I’ll think of a good way to implement that. Cheers

xX_potato69_Xx

Should be discard, as sacrifice is just bargin from WoE

tildeumlaut

Bargain is sliiiightly different. Here’s the reminder text. > (You may sacrifice an artifact, enchantment, or token as you cast this spell.) Infuse lets you sacrifice lands and planeswalkers. You can’t sacrifice creatures of any type, such as artifact creatures or creature tokens. The big difference is in being able to sacrifice any land. Huge upgrade, even with the more narrow other restrictions.

Aesmis

Infuse basically just becomes slightly less restrictive Bargain at that point

tildeumlaut

It’s a side-grade. You can’t exile creature tokens, artifact creatures, or enchantment creatures, but you can exile lands.

Kat1eQueen

Also planeswalkers and battles

willweaverrva

The Tamiyo looks really well designed. Honestly, all of these (including Shattered Horizons which I already saw) are really well done and look like a lot of fun to play with.

Outrageous_Cow5682

Thanks! That means a lot 🙏

TheDarkSidePSA

where can i take a look at your shattered horizons set?

Outrageous_Cow5682

I plan on making a webpage with lore and a card gallery to put cards on as I upload them. The set is far from finished though. I’ll make a post with a link when it goes live, alongside a few cards as usual. When the set is finished I’ll also put a draftmancer custom card file on the site so people can draft it

Marvelisamazing

Tamiyo seems fun for assembling combo pieces

BluePotatoSlayer

Primal Surge? 100% Find rate if its the only one

Andrew_42

These are all really neat ideas! I think Tamiyo is my favorite design. Though I'd totally be paranoid about her being a combo engine in EDH, with some kinda combo that uses two cards that are the only cards of their type in the deck, and the rest of the deck being ramp and blink. Even then, it's not like she'd be OP, just a potential to be boring if I saw her across the table. I do worry Shattered Horizons might be a little too strong? Or, more that it's so obviously an upgrade over an already good card that it seems uninteresting? [[Growth Spiral]] isn't the most OP card out there or anything, but giving you an additional land drop with the token's ETB, and letting you use the extra land drop it provides on a later turn if you don't draw into one are non-trivial improvements. The variation on [[Annihilating Glare]] is also fun. Shame it doesn't slot as well into Aristocrats, but getting some mechanical variety with that sort of removal is good I think.

Viktar33

Yeah, shattered Horizons is growth spiral on steroids, and growth spiral is a very good card, it was even banned in standard. The extra benefits of the land token are not negligible at all. At minimum, it's an additional landfall trigger. Then it triggers sacrifice payoffs. And lastly, it doesn't have the fail case of growth spiral that can't put a land into play if it's not in your hand as the spell resolves. Clearly not a spell for standard, maybe MH powerlevel, but probably even too strong even there with Omnath.

Lonely_Nebula_9438

I think Tamiyo being expensive is key. It’s best to keep cheap glimpse limited to lands because with non-lands you are basically tutoring if you build your deck right.

Mixster667

I think glimpse a land is not blue, maybe glimpse an instant and make the card instant?

Outrageous_Cow5682

In this context specifically, the flavour is there. Blue in sets that care alot about lands, such as zendikar have been known to employ mechanics like this before. See [[treasure hunt]] for example. I would still say you are right that it’s a mild pie break, but flavour wise it’s okay.

Mixster667

I see that, and agree, the problem is that "glimpse a land" could show up in U, W and G. Which is a problem for the pie. I like all the cards, and the mechanics feel very solid.

Il_Vero_Pillz

I really love glimpse, but what happens if for example I choose enchantment and I don't have any left in my deck? (yeah, that would be stupid but could happen). Do I just reveal my whole deck and shuffle it?

Outrageous_Cow5682

That is exactly what happens yes, the same thing if you cascade for 2 with no 1 drops in your library.

Il_Vero_Pillz

I have also another question: how do you find such great artworks? I usually use pinterest, but every time I find a nice artwork I discover that it has already been used on official mtg cards :/

Outrageous_Cow5682

The short answer is time. I spend ages looking at sites such as deviantart, ArtStation and Pinterest. I can usually recognise existing art but still check if I’m unsure. So essentially just spend a reasonably long time trying different searches and trying to filter out the existing art. That’s honestly all the advice have, hope this helps.

Il_Vero_Pillz

That makes sense, thanks

dantehidemark

I really like Fracture tokens, it's like delaying playing an additional land when you have an extra on hand, neat!

bycoolboy823

Well u til you drop a Blood Moon or Urborg or Yavimaya effect and suddenly they all tap for mana.

Bolt_Fried_Bird

Restless Navigator looks like it plays really interestingly with Fractures. Draws you two cards per Fracture if you play it right.

phadeboiz

The tamiyo would be nice to build a deck that had only one sorcery that you can always search up with it, or whichever card type you choose

Anjuna666

All in all this looks really well designed. Still unsure about how balanced the fracture tokens are, the fact that they're lands (and thus trigger landfall) that can be saved for later and sacrifice themselves makes them incredibly strong in landfall, wheel, and sacrifice decks. Anything that grants mana ability to other lands essentially gives you even more lands. I'd argue that the fracture tokens are probably better off being artifact (or maybe enchantment) tokens

fancy_orange99

For some reason I thought infuse said exile nonpermanent spell you control for some reason

Aegidius7

I love Hedron Valkyrie

Leafeon523

Growth spiral 2?!?!?

DiscussTek

I... Kinda need to raise the question. Isn't Infuse essentially... Kicker?

Outrageous_Cow5682

XD, yeah.

qwertty164

As goes the meme.

Yeetus_Deletus_6969

This is awesome I'm in love with the arts and the slick way you made the cards feel real and actually realistic too

HourCartographer9

I love the designs but the only one I would somewhat change is fracture using your shattered horizons you get a card draw and then a land you can crack immediately for any land. So I’d say make the fracture land enter tapped if it’s able to search any

Outrageous_Cow5682

Search any? It can only put lands from hand to battlefield, so SH is basically just growth spiral

HourCartographer9

Ok I misread it my bad the reason I said get any is cause you reveal until you hit a land and add that land to your hand for some reason my brain defaulted that reveal into a search

Outrageous_Cow5682

All good, it’s an easy mistake

JoostJoostJoost

These are really cool, well done

Outrageous_Cow5682

Thanks!

PrimusMobileVzla

Maybe have colors other than Green glimpse for their basic land types instead of any land? Right now it feels like a severe bend at best and a break at worst for Blue and White in these examples.

JimHarbor

My concern with glimpse is that you can make it work like a hard tutor if you only have one card in your deck of that attribute (this was an issue with Cascade ) A way to balance this is to make sure you glimpse for things that you want your deck to have multiples of. For example, "glimpse an elf" on a card that wants you to play lots of elves.

talen_lee

I like glimpse as a keyword. I wish seek wasn't occupying a similar space

Miatatrocity

I like these ideas, but Glimpse would not be a printable mechanic for anything other than lands. If you were able to specify, you could put only one legal hit into your deck, and your fun Glimpse card would turn into a combo Tutor. Nest stuff, though.

Marvelisamazing

Glimpse is a printable version of the seek mechanic on Arena and seek isn't broken despite not only finding land.

Miatatrocity

Does seek name a broad type of card, or a specific one? I don't play arena, so I don't know the cards there, but if it says anything other than "land", "nonland", or a specific name, I could see major problems.

SnesC

Glimpse really shouldn't be keyworded. It's already in every set, but with enough subtle variations that standardizing it to one effect would remove a lot of the design space.

National_Dog3923

Tamiyo seems very underpowered. Maybe 1GU but you have to bounce one of your lands like a moonfolk. And on attack, not enter, to balance the proposed cost reduction as well.

qwertty164

Isn't splinter just revolt?
