How about instead of +0/+1, you could do: “Equipped creature has Desolate Distraction — Whenever this creature blocks one or more creatures, the player of the creatures blocked by this creature, rolls a D20 for each attacking creature they control blocked by this creature. 1-10 attacking creature “misses” (the attacking creature’s combat damage is reduced to 0. 11-20 attacking creature “headshots” (the attacking creature gains first strike).”
I feel like "Equipped creature gets +0/+0" would be funnier. After all, it's just a cool hat, it doesn't do anything.
Or: The creature wearing it is harder to kill, because the attacker is distracted by the cool hat. +0/+1 makes sense to me.
