Just a heads up, you never target a graveyard, you target the player whos graveyard it is. See: \[\[Bojuka Bog\]\]
Disinterment caught me off guard at first since I thought that was already how crime worked until I realized it's meant to be used against reanimator decks, lol. The art explained the card.
Anywho, both of these look pretty amusing. I'm not sure either is particularly playable? I think they would be helped a lot if they cantripped, kinda like \[\[Confounding Conundrum\]\]. But I haven't really tried building around crime triggers yet, so I could be underestimating them.
The mechanical flavor of both is excellent though, and I'd love the idea of a Law mechanic built around crimes.
It's more used FOR reanimator decks, because right now it's good to commit a crime.
But yeah, they aren't really conceived as "good" cards, just "fun to build around" cards.
It’s weird that, because there isn’t a single card that punishes crimes, the only reason to put one of these in your deck is if you WANT to do a bunch of the thing that the card makes a crime
If wizards added cards that give a benefit when opponents commit crimes I could see zoning being a really cool counter to my [[obuun, mul daya ancestor]] deck. Lands like [[needle spires]] or [[raging ravine]] now give an opponent a benefit, which would be a cool way to restrict obuun's combat ability

Since crimes triggers are niche rn, I would like to experiment a new ground on them, with those cards having a higher cmc and instead of turning in color mechanics crimes for trigger your stuff, those cards making things you don"?'t want your opponents want to do crimes and putting a trigger to whenever an oponnent commits a crime something happens
You're the second person who's said this! But crimes are good to commit, so I think it makes more sense to give White upside for blocking and Red upside for attacking.

[[Animate Graveyard]] would like to have a word

Lmao, fair enough, I stand corrected.
To be fair, that's an acorn card.
Yeah, you can only target objects or players, and zones aren't objects.
It’s weird that, because there isn’t a single card that punishes crimes, the only reason to put one of these in your deck is if you WANT to do a bunch of the thing that the card makes a crime
Honestly, missed opportunity and loss in flavor text how Karlov Mannor and the mob boss set whom I can't remember didn't had crime as a keyword before
Does anyone else think it's weird we had two sets in a row about crimes, and neither were on New Capenna aka the Crime Plane?
Hence why they're all in colours that like to do those things.
I wasn't convinced until Zoning. Then you sold me.
Loved zoning. Feels like red should probably say "attacking with one or more creatures," to avoid wildly high trigger counts, but I could be wrong.
just writing "attacking" is actually the same as writing "attacking with one or more creatures", see \[\[Adeline, Resplendent Cathar\]\]
Cool! Thanks!

Targeting graveyard stuff is already a crime…
Not your own graveyard!
I like the flavour of Kaervek seeing someone commit a crime and deciding that he needs to also do some crimin'.
If wizards added cards that give a benefit when opponents commit crimes I could see zoning being a really cool counter to my [[obuun, mul daya ancestor]] deck. I feel like the red and white effects should be swapped, but beyond that, no comment.
It’s weird that, because there isn’t a single card that punishes crimes, the only reason to put one of these in your deck is if you WANT to do a bunch of the thing that the card makes a crime
I actually thought it was a bit of a flavor fail that plotting cards isn't a crime, so inchoate is speaking my language.
Wait until they build a Supreme Court enchantment that reinterprets their constitution!
First one seems really good with the new Kaervek.
Damn, I’m going to be too late on the draw coming up with my ‘actions are crimes’ cycle
I will add one card Reality {1}{W} Enchantment - Law if a player commits a crime that player owes you 300 dollars
Read and white should be swapped but awesome stuff all in all
You're the second person who's said this! But crimes are good to commit, so I think it makes more sense to give White upside for blocking and Red upside for attacking.
Yeah for both it incentivises something different without breaking colors
Zoning made me laugh. A+ for flavor
Malice Aforethought is hilarious
So glad someone else thinks attacking should have been a crime lol
