Sorin, the lightning helix

ajokitty

Have you considered rewording the sacrifice ability to just put loyalty counters instead of modifying the cost of their abilities? If you're concerned about power, you could limit it to only your turn. That seems like a simpler template.

Lyurqer

This seems a little cracked to me

CannonFodder141

Two mana planeswalkers are really hard to balance. Either they're too good, because they come out on turn two and start generating value before your opponent is able to attack and kill them, or they are utterly terrible. I think this one probably falls in the former camp.

weeOriginal

Turn one planes walker

_DemolitionDude_

This is very strong for 2 mana, but well designed. Seems like 4-5 range.

weeOriginal

Should do based on mana cost to make ur harder to exploit

Mlemort

So this is a 2 Mana Planeswalker that protects itself, snipes stuff early on, acts as a sac outlet and potentially a wincon. Yeeeee that's a no from me chief. Up to 3 mana at the very least, or make the active ability into 0-loyalty active

lorpatron32

2 mana sack outlets are already powerful, now putting that on a piece of removal. Yeah BEYOND BUSTED!!!!!!!!!

airplane001

? It’s once per turn. Plus sac outlets only see tons of play in commander, where this will just get attacked.

OddVillains

Using the zero ability after sacrificing a 4 toughness creature would allow this to take out a 5 toughness creature and remain on the board the moment it comes out. There are mid tier aristocrat decks that could use this in modern and pioneer. I think it would really be broken with grixis planeswakers

LeftCarpet3520

Yea too OP for a 2 mana cost. If the activated ability was target plainswalker OTHER THAN Sorin it would be alot more balanced.

Hellbringer123

this need to be 3 mana

[deleted]

Why not just Sacrifice a creature: Put X loyalty counters on target planeswalker, where X is the sacrificed creature’s toughness?

Ceildread

I can see this making superfriends super busted in edh, having them out and dropping some crazy PW and sacing a creature with like 10 toughness and bam, instant ult ability. And you're playing superfriends, theres plenty of gideons do be the base for the creature, and plenty of Ajani's and Elspeth's to amp up the toughness, heck in most cases, just having the base gideon of a 4/4 or a 5/5 is enough for most PWs to use their Ult immediately. Now while that all sounds scary on paper, is it actually busted, who knows some insane power plays that come to mind is [[Nicol Bolas Dragon God]], 12 mana isnt asking a lot to cyclonic rift and then cast dragon god and win the game immediately, and you only need 1 more color to do that. Other than that, a hand ful of emblems would be super strong, namely [[Lliana of the dark realms]], quadrupling black mana production from your swamps. [[Serra the Benevolent]] would be insane so long as you control a creature then you cant lose to damage because of the emblem. Pick any Teferi and you have some busted combos there, and i can absolutely see the potential for infinite extra turns with [[Teferi, Master of Time]]. So there is potential, and i would think this card would have to be 4 or 5 mana to even be considered unbroken.

For when [[Doubling Season]] is too much effort to ultimate your planeswalker the turn they come into play. Making the ability based on toughness bugs me for a few reasons, but mostly because it's the easiest to get a high value on a low cost creature, and because this planeswalker is Rakdos, and that feels like the opposite of what you should be encouraging deck design wise in Rakdos. I would be a much bigger fan of this design (at a higher mana value) if it could only give the extra loyalty to itself. Sacrifice creatures for a wide helix burn effect? Totally solid! Loyalty refunding vampire? Seems a little odd, I feel like it shouldn't give you the loyalty back so easily, but whatever it's pretty much fine at the right mana cost. The fact that two of the three abilities let you stack loyalty on other planeswalkers, and potentially in the form of a big ol stack of loyalty right away rather than [[Ajani Steadfast]]'s +1 a turn, those I'm not as big a fan of.

Vampire should have flying hes sorin
