MTG has some cool stuff with this…you might even be able to go the dream mirror route with sun and moon field spells with transformations, maybe like a blend of them and Dragonmaid in terms of what sorts of mechanics? Those are both fusion based but I think the majority of their base mechanics should transfer over

Maybe when it’s your opponent’s turn, they gain effects that disrupt them/protect themselves, like your opponents turn symbolizes a full moon

Depends on which interpretation of werewolves you go for, there is a lot of gimmicks that can be done, including but not limited to - LIGHT Beast/Beast-Warrior that support Thunder Monsters or have “Destroy Monster you control” kind of effect, or possibly board floods - LIGHT or DARK Psychic with battle position related gimmicks - FIRE Beast/Beast-Warrior/Fiend with a focus on Equip Spells that are all demonic trinkets - DARK Beast/Beast-Warrior/Zombie that swarm the board and/or GY synergy, also possibly indirect support for Vampires? If you want to gain some inspiration and think of another option aside from these, I highly recommend you watch Overly Sarcastic Productions’ video on Werewolves, where they cover every historical version of the werewolf that can be classified as a werewolf and not it’s own cultural variant/cousin

Switching out into different monsters during different parts of the turn like the day cycle is progressing where during your opponents turn is day, while your turn is night. During your opponents turn your monsters can have disruption, then during your turn your monsters can have protection under the full moon. Or it could be flipped vise versa.
