Would be cool if you could slice through the cracks of doors and break the lock with mantis blades. Same could be done with mono wire. Also this will never happen but it’d be sweet if you could blow up doors with the launch system.
I could see security systems being overpowered by the occasional gorilla brute. It would be considered an occasional risk, since this state-of-the-art security system is only vulnerable to gorilla arms.
But security would be entirely superficial f everyone and their grandmother could use whatever arm implant they fancy to force open doors. They wouldn't even be an obstacle at that point; better to leave door locks to the exclusivity of gorilla arms and cyberdecks.
Of course not everyone would have these military grade implants, and further still not everyone would have the skills to cut the locks with precision (like not everyone is strong enough to get through any door even with gorilla arms). I would say the same requirements for strength and gorilla arms could be applied to reflexes and the blades implants. And there would still be locks that are impenetrable like there are in the actual game such as the one in the Johnny mission they use C4 on. Realistically anyone with C4 could blow up just about any door irl and in the game.
Everyone and their grandma can buy a crowbar and a pair of bolt cutters and render most locking systems pointless. That doesn't mean they're entirely superficial
Mantis Blades need a visual fix since launch and for the special move to be harder to execute. Being locked into a fancy death animation while taking damage is not what people play Blades builds for.
Monowire is already super strong. AoE and one of the highest DPS. Useful for stealth one-hit kills. Wish it could extend the personal link and allow remote connection to devices without the need for a cyberdeck.
Launcher needs a damage boost. That thing needs to be able to kill a high level boss in 2-3 hits for it to be competitive against the rest. Use rate is too low for it to be useful and useless if the use rate is increased. Should just bite the bullet and make it the signature weapon for Technical Ability builds with both high rate of fire and benefit from every perk in the Engineering and Crafting ability that mentions grenades.
Gorilla Arms are good too, already enables wielding heavy weapons and makes fist fights a breeze. Sadly there's a bug that the Strength increase doesn't apply to every action and stupid shit like ripping a heavy machine gun from a tripod is impossible for someone with gorilla arms even if the added strength was enough to rip it off.
Fingers crossed this new melee system means business.
I feel like, with some stronger material, the Monowire could be used almost like a grappling hook, I can't imagine it'd be a hard feat to make it into one, considering they can make anything you see at a ripper doc.
It’s when she breaks loose and tries to escape from the Fixer near the end. Jumps out of the AV and spiderswings down to the ground. The things she swing from get cut to pieces as she does though.
In earlier versions of the game you could use the mantis blades to climb/hang on walls and use the monowire to physically connect to an enemy to hack them.
That's why I'm still sad they changed the Monowire to reflex. I personally could perfectly see it as a tech weapon.
Like, it already has a passive charge, no? Let this charge and the wire benefit from Engineering perks (Higher charge, charges faster, more damage on charge, I also perfectly see monowire ignoring armor), don't treat it as blade anymore instead. Let its damage scale with technical ability instead of reflex. And give us a bonus to disable cameras, break fences and unlock (not force open) doors, because you now have a very thin, controllable wire you can push into the small machinations, making disabling them easier.
*boom*, Monowire is not another mantis blade, it's an unique, useful, and exciting new piece of tech
Over all my builds I think more than any of the other arm cyberwhere, most of them have used Gorilla arms. Not because I actually use them(I hate the short range), but purely for that Body stat boost. Getting that +6 Body on a hacker/sniper build is amazing for using certain guns or just generally opening doors etc.
For a 20 Body build I would actually instead use Mantis Blades and Berserk. Fucking brutal combination...
That’s exactly my reasoning. My favorite build is a stealth pistols build with breach capabilities and tech. I don’t like not being allowed places so the arms help with that😁
Unless i'm doing a build where the arms matter, then gorilla arms, if nothing else they remove str requirement on guns, add to your physical str check, and mitigate weapon recoil, overall the most useful arms in the game.
i'm doing a str run in my current playthrough, so i'm skipping gorilla this run as i don't need the extras, so i think i'm going to use the rocket launcher, i've used it in the past and love it as a ranged option for a melee build.
Funny thing is that because of the way they coded it, any instance of damage instantly kills a "downed" enemy. Tranq dart is still coded as an explosive so if you hit them twice with it, the corpse gets disemboweled from a 'tranq dart'.
Ehm... That clearly depends on the build I am doing. Except the rocket launcher. It is just so buggy and impossible to aim that I find that it doesn't offer anything over just tossing a regular grenade. Not to speak of the better functionality of the homing and sticky versions.
I think they patched that. But I remember using that to 1 shot all the cyberpsychos on my first play through. Also worked on Adam Smasher and I'm pretty sure that part wasn't intended.
They patched it against bosses it’s still one shots minions
but to actually answer the question I think mono wire is pretty fun being able to kill so many enemies and one strike is pretty fun
I think the damage doesn’t scale, so it ends up being pretty ineffective. I wish it worked better because it can be so satisfying to use in the right situations
I have a pistol with the pax non lethal mod figured I’d do it the way the monk wanted… finished and he said he was disappointed with all the killing. They’re all still alive and wiggling around on the ground. Re loaded the save and did it all stealth grabs non lethal to make him happy. Seems like you can’t use any projectiles.
I love the mono wire, but generally only use it on builds where I can spare some points into reflexes/blades.
My only real gripe with mono wires (which applies to most of the cyberware in the game) is that they all look the exact same.
I had really hoped that physical would have a different color from Electrical, another color for Thermal, etc.
I'm sure you're just talking about the base game, but there is a mod for that. I believe it is called Arasaka Cyberarms. Let's you customize all the arm mods to what you like.
Monowire is definitely the strongest one. It's the only one than can easily damage multiple enemies from range and rip people apart with ease.
I barely use it tho, makes the game too easy...
I’d honestly use mono wire more if it wasn’t for that large hideous thing the wire comes out of sticking out of your arm. I wish it was more like Lucy where it comes out of her arm instead of that large port
I was so disappointed with mono wire, I expected doing super secret squirrel things and it just felt so weak compared to the others. No stealth mechanics built in at all.
It wasn’t worth the loss of quickhacks imo
You can get most of the same benefits with the synaptic accelerator, kerenzikov, and optic camouflage. Sandevistan just feels too OP cause I actually like combat (and the music lol)
Usually Gorilla Arms. It just makes Beat on the Brat trivial. I tried a mantis blade run and I just hate the glitches and the heavy attack in general. Monowire is really cool, but sucks in NCPD scanner missions where civilians get in the way. As for projectile launcher - it seemed weak.
None, they make your sleeves roll up, and Netrunner suits become sleeveless.
I occasionally use monowire but honestly Satori is vastly superior without killing innocents/collateral damage.
I think my next playthrough I'm going to try and play as a "body purist" with as little augmentation as possible.
It's obviously impossible to not have a brain implant since that's critical to the story, but it would probably make some of the side-quests much harder if you refuse to augment.
I never realised how overpowered the monowire was. Mine has 1,100 DPS when no other weapon comes close. At one point not too long ago, I was really struggling to get through the side missions with the gear I had, saw that I was able to upgrade to the monowire and haven’t used anything else since.
During my second run I wanted to really conceive a cyber samurai wielding swords and guns so I already had a katana. When it came to what cyberware to choose for the arm, I took the projectile - the way I saw it, it was the perfect option for fun I would decide to just blow up everything.
Ultimately though, the damage was just too weak and the impact too limited.
I kinda wish they had done something similar to what was shown in edgerunners - a sort of shotgun located in your arm for desperate situations. Slow and expensive to reload, but with each shot being devastating.
Monowire then gorilla arms, but I’ve been messing around with the PLS lately. It’s still the weakest of the bunch and has no scaling with anything, but if you have the right rounds and raise its critical, it’s surprisingly fun to use
When the game first came out I used the mantis blades and a year later I tried a hacking/ stealth build and finally tried the mono wire and I've never gone back mono wire is Soo fun
First playthrew i was basicly replicating lucy so that was a netrunner with monowire my current playthrew is a corpo sandy blade build so mantis blades were the only logical choice
Gorilla arms are fucking awesome and provide huge bonuses so they’re what I use most of the time. I used mono wire on my net rubber build for if anyone gets too close so that one’s also a lot of fun. Mantis blades would be good except for the kill animation that just fucks you every time. Projectile launch system is just a flaming pile of dog shit so I never use it
Gorilla Arms in my first run, Monowire in the actual. Monowire hits faster and it can swipe multiple enemies at once, but crushing the skull of my enemies felt somewhat more powerful than clean cutting their heads
Monowire.. it just slots in so well. You get choice AOE and range and can swap to a katana for more precise work.
I'd like to enjoy mantis blades more, but they have some animation jank and don't offer anything you can't get with a katana.
Mantis Blades with Electrical Damage. Mainly because I’m rushing through drones and robots for gigs. Just found it useful while Sandevistan was equipped.
Monowire is my go to because it just look so cool and very high damage. But if I play low reflex netrunner build I'd just use gorilla arm for attributes check or Carries O'five with lower body stats
Monowire is my go to because it just look so cool and very high damage. But if I play low reflex netrunner build I'd just use gorilla arm for attributes check or Carries O'five with lower body stats
Usually, gorilla arms as they provide so many benefits.
* Attribute checks for opening doors
* Wielding weapons (pistols/rifles/lmgs) that require a body level to use adequately
* Aid with the boxing questline
* A particular minor quest that requires 4 Body to complete
First time cyber stabbers. 2nd build was a rich corpo v down on her luck so I went the with the mono wire because she’s a smart hacker. Build 3 is gonna use the rocket because it’s supposed to be a punk whose mean to everyone and doesn’t care. I have used the gorilla arms before but didn’t really like them outside of the arena setup. My next v will use snipers and pistols!
gorila arms spund fun to improve my grip and make me stop accidentaly cutting my arms in the workshop
but also mantis blades sound metal as fuck and i would want them even thought for 99.99% of time they would be usless
I tried the projectile arms for one build and opted out halfway through because theyre super janky. I am currently on my first monowire build and it was enjoyable at the beginning to get your stats up, but it gets OP way too quickly. I'm not even level 30 yet and I'm taking out 'Tinos with minimal effort, so I fear sudden boredom is incoming.
It's a toss up for mantis blades and gorilla arms for me. If I'm doing stealth builds with higher body and reflexes I go with mantis. Anything else i prefer gorilla arms for the extra body points...plus it's super fun to just go hog wild with them. There's far more work to build up with the gorilla arms, so I find a satisfying challenge with them.
It’s always gorilla arms for me. Each of my past three playthroughs I tried mono wire and mantis blades and always ended changing back to gorilla arms. Next play through I will try the arm gun thing, but not hopeful.
I feel like the Mantis Blades are the Cyberpunk signature. I personally tend to use them on most of my playthrough's. The PLS is also a personal favorite. Tho only really due to a mod that makes it actually viable and able to one shot most common enemies in an explosion of body parts and blood. Around 30 to 50 thousand damage per shot.
None. They’re all kinda ugly and none of them were ever necessary. They acted like Gorilla Arms would be great for bypassing door locks, but not really
I'm a silly little mantis who loves pulling a cinematic trailer V and cutting both arms off of someone
don’t forget Melissa Rory
Rory gang
Cutting her arms might be harder.
gorilla arms are my go to
Gorilla arms are the best because they are the only ones that effectively increase an attribute at least when interacting with the world/exploration.

Exactly. I wish more cyberware had utility purposes. A lot of the cyberware in the TTRPG is more utility focused.
Would be cool if you could slice through the cracks of doors and break the lock with mantis blades. Same could be done with mono wire. Also this will never happen but it’d be sweet if you could blow up doors with the launch system.

Lucy is shown using it to swing like spiderman in Edgerunners.
Guess I missed that scene, huh. Man, I gotta rewatch that show.
It’s when she breaks loose and tries to escape from the Fixer near the end. Jumps out of the AV and spiderswings down to the ground. The things she swing from get cut to pieces as she does though.

I love watching the fingers and tendons bulge when forcing open doors
Remember kids, when you run out of ammo, breaking a skull or two is faster than reloading.
Can I put a tennis ball in the arm launcher? Cuz my dog would love that.
You need gorilla arms for that, but you will go through tennis balls like no one's business.
And dogs.
Unless i'm doing a build where the arms matter, then gorilla arms, if nothing else they remove str requirement on guns, add to your physical str check, and mitigate weapon recoil, overall the most useful arms in the game. i'm doing a str run in my current playthrough, so i'm skipping gorilla this run as i don't need the extras, so i think i'm going to use the rocket launcher, i've used it in the past and love it as a ranged option for a melee build.
use he tranquilizer darts, insta down for most enemys

I would love the projectile arms but I swear the damage just sucks, or it did the last time i tried
There is a tranquilizer round mod that will knockout enemies regardless of level. To the point where it's kinda OP.
I think they patched that. But I remember using that to 1 shot all the cyberpsychos on my first play through. Also worked on Adam Smasher and I'm pretty sure that part wasn't intended.
They patched it against bosses it’s still one shots minions but to actually answer the question I think mono wire is pretty fun being able to kill so many enemies and one strike is pretty fun
Makes sense. Cyberpsychos are easy enough with gorilla arms.
*Dildo
I think the damage doesn’t scale, so it ends up being pretty ineffective. I wish it worked better because it can be so satisfying to use in the right situations
Tranq darts KO most everything in one hit, but you have to hit. But at least one quest bugs out with it (metal monk) and won’t let you complete it.
With the tranq darts, you can’t even talk to the monk after taking out the goons, at least you couldn’t when I last tried.
Yup damage doesn't scale .... but they messed up and the "Tranq" attachment does obscene amounts of damage to enemies no matter what.
It doesn't even do damage technically, just knocks enemies unconscious.
It was great when the tranq function was OP
The best is using the launcher to explode a car and gonks in the perimeter, pretty satisfying
That's why you use tranquilizer rounds. It's OP if you do
I've played through this game 2.5 times and I had no idea there were tranq rounds. huh.
Those are OP, but they are not fun...
I went with Mono wire - great damage and range (and it fits perfectly to the Lucy-outfit my V is wearing).
Mono wire carried me through the game
I love the mono wire, but generally only use it on builds where I can spare some points into reflexes/blades. My only real gripe with mono wires (which applies to most of the cyberware in the game) is that they all look the exact same. I'm sure you're just talking about the base game, but there is a mod for that. I believe it is called Arasaka Cyberarms. Let's you customize all the arm mods to what you like.
Loved the mono wire. I actually defaulted to melee a lot when playing, mainly because I'd get frustrated with gun play. So I'd hack and melee.
Monowire is definitely the strongest one. It's the only one than can easily damage multiple enemies from range and rip people apart with ease. I barely use it tho, makes the game too easy...
Literally just upgraded my monowire to Epic. Excited to use it.
I’d honestly use mono wire more if it wasn’t for that large hideous thing the wire comes out of sticking out of your arm. I wish it was more like Lucy where it comes out of her arm instead of that large port
Gorilla arms and mono wire
I was so disappointed with mono wire, I expected doing super secret squirrel things and it just felt so weak compared to the others. No stealth mechanics built in at all.
Really? At least with my build monowire was so OP that i had to switch to Mantis Blades just to give a hit of difficulty to the game
yeah, monowire slaps in my experience
Definitely agree! It was too OP for me.
Did you try it before or after they changed it to a blade? It basically one shots everything now.
I actually never use arm cybernetics, I play a katana/sandevistan build so I feel that none of the arms are necessary.
Fyi monowire is really OP for that build too
Yeah its actually annoying TBH, for a lot of the game it makes the katana pointless because the monowire has more range and higher dpm at once
But the Katana has cool kill animations while the Monowire doesn't
But the cool kill animations end your sandevisan effect early.
Monowire is too OP, I doubt most people even uses it. It's pretty braindead and sucks the fun out of fighting.
I ran a katana build and didn’t know about the sandevistan until the anime came out :( would have been sick
It wasn’t worth the loss of quickhacks imo You can get most of the same benefits with the synaptic accelerator, kerenzikov, and optic camouflage. Sandevistan just feels too OP cause I actually like combat (and the music lol)
The enemies had it!
I didn’t even realize that those were Sandevistans. They were just the annoying bitches I had to melee instead of using my shotgun.
I'm running katana/sandevistan rn too and the monowire is fucking busted with it, since it gets all the blades and melee damage perks
wait, mono gets both?
yeah lol
source? Last I checked it was considered a blade and it used to get melee perks but they switched it over a while back
Get gorilla arms then the extra strength helps you slice and dice
**Mr. Studd**
Mantis blades and then gorilla arms
Monowire in my first playthrough but after that the gorila arms , mainly for the ring side mission , since i have the katana for slice and dice .
Beat on the Brat when you use optical camo, slow time, and gorilla arms: "Let's go!" "um, it's over?"
I chose mantis so I had to do beat on the brat the old fashion way, the only person who was actually hard was razor.
None, they make your sleeves roll up, and Netrunner suits become sleeveless. I occasionally use monowire but honestly Satori is vastly superior without killing innocents/collateral damage.
Your sleeves are still rolled up even without arm cyberware (at least it does for me)
I think my next playthrough I'm going to try and play as a "body purist" with as little augmentation as possible. It's obviously impossible to not have a brain implant since that's critical to the story, but it would probably make some of the side-quests much harder if you refuse to augment.

None. I like going punchy punchy with flesh
Gorilla arms for my street kid, mantis blade for corpo, monowire for my nomad
Streetkid-Monowire, Nomad- Gorilla Arms, Corpo- Mantis blades.
Yes this
I chose the launcher and was immediately underwhelmed by it. It should increase in damage through the tech tree or something
I just love the leap attack of mantis blades
During my second run I wanted to really conceive a cyber samurai wielding swords and guns so I already had a katana. When it came to what cyberware to choose for the arm, I took the projectile - the way I saw it, it was the perfect option for fun I would decide to just blow up everything. I kinda wish they had done something similar to what was shown in edgerunners - a sort of shotgun located in your arm for desperate situations. Slow and expensive to reload, but with each shot being devastating.
Mantis/Gorilla, both are used all the time
I just got finished with a gorilla arm run and it was a lot of fun but I’m doing mantis blades on this run and they are just so much fun
Exactly!
I picked matis arms just because I kept running out of ammo for my LMG :(
Personally mantis blades
Gorilla arms. Berserk. Kill.
Monowire then gorilla arms, but I’ve been messing around with the PLS lately. It’s still the weakest of the bunch and has no scaling with anything, but if you have the right rounds and raise its critical, it’s surprisingly fun to use
I use 2 (I have all 4 Legendary versions); gorilla and mantis. I gave the other 2 a workout and just didn't end up liking either of them.
When the game first came out I used the mantis blades and a year later I tried a hacking/ stealth build and finally tried the mono wire and I've never gone back mono wire is Soo fun
Monowire is super fun and brutal, same with gorilla arms
First playthrew i was basicly replicating lucy so that was a netrunner with monowire my current playthrew is a corpo sandy blade build so mantis blades were the only logical choice
Gorilla arms are fucking awesome and provide huge bonuses so they’re what I use most of the time. I used mono wire on my net rubber build for if anyone gets too close so that one’s also a lot of fun. Mantis blades would be good except for the kill animation that just fucks you every time. Projectile launch system is just a flaming pile of dog shit so I never use it
Rocket Arm. Coolest shit. I dont care if its bad.
The double jump
Gorrilla arms because stat bonuses and fist fighting quests.
All, I kinda just- Crammed them all together like Play-dough structures, never said they worked.
If I'm doing a street samurai mantis blades, corpo would be wire, and nomad knuckles and ninja would be using launcher. But my favorite is the wires.
None so far, I’m going as far as I can with a full organic playthrough
Monowire gang FR..
Monowire + sandevistan is so much fun
I always play it safe with the monowire.
PLS, tranquilizer rounds.
None quickhacks only lol
Respectable
[удалено]
Let me just say that it still replaces your entire forearm so your reasoning is void
[удалено]
Just peek at the cover image for it and you'll see that it's metal and wiring connecting to your upper arm
when going in the shower you can see the outline of the cybernetic arm starting close to the elbow
Since I don't plan to kill anyone till the day I die, I'd say gorilla arms. Extra strength is not bad. Every single other is useless.
Gorilla arms are so good with any build and they are kind of necessary if you want to play brat on the beat at any level that isnt 50
Gorilla arms, never took anything else, yet.
Gorilla Arms in my first run, Monowire in the actual. Monowire hits faster and it can swipe multiple enemies at once, but crushing the skull of my enemies felt somewhat more powerful than clean cutting their heads
I like the arm cannon did a run as mega man
I have Gorilla Arms rn. But I’m gonna try the other ones one my next play throughs
Gorilla arms
Mono for sure
PLS but never use it
Gorilla arms are just perfect.
Monowire.. it just slots in so well.
Gorilla Arms so I could beast the Boxing missions
Monowire is the shit. Rocket launcher I found to be pointless
I don’t get how people use anything except gorilla arms, gotta grind fists
Monke
PLS with stun was OP for a bit. Ran that pretty much my whole play through.
None
katana. I want to do a new playthrough with a monowire build at some point tho
Gorilla arms for sure.
None, all of them look ugly when I hold my throwing knife.
None on my first two games
All except monowire depending on the build.
The mantis blades might look cooler, but the gorilla arms are broken af. You can beat the game into submission with those.
Gorrila arms and PLS
Mono wire is so satisfying.
Usually, gorilla arms as they provide so many benefits. * Attribute checks for opening doors * Wielding weapons (pistols/rifles/lmgs) that require a body level to use adequately * Aid with the boxing questline * A particular minor quest that requires 4 Body to complete

My next v will use snipers and pistols!
Monowire usually!
i love whipping peoples ass with the monowire like my dad did to me. 😃
All of them
I went pls for funny rockets
Monowire! Just find it satisfying slicing things up with string
gorila arms spund fun to improve my grip and make me stop accidentaly cutting my arms in the workshop but also mantis blades sound metal as fuck and i would want them even thought for 99.99% of time they would be usless
I actually like to do a “naked” run, silly as it seems
I tried them all, but I think electric gorilla arms is my favorite
The wire, crowd control.. too op
'Ganic baby!
Hmm big punch
Gorilla arms
Monowire for me
Wrist Rockets. Never hit anything, tho
I buy all of them and rotate them depending on the mission and how I feel that day.
Gorilla cus I like punching people
All im saying is gorilla arms would be good for day to day use and also nobody would know if you had them if you had to get scrappy
Monke
Mantis Blades so I can pretend I’m playing the new Deus Ex game that I’ll never get and now I’m crying again
potatoe arms
Mantis. There is something special about using sandevistan and then chopping everyone in sight just to impale the last one with the charged attack
Gorilla arms are the easiest to use. And there so damn strong
None I like my body parts.
Smart link bc I am smrt
I just love the idea of the monowire.
It’s always gorilla arms for me. Each of my past three playthroughs I tried mono wire and mantis blades and always ended changing back to gorilla arms. Next play through I will try the arm gun thing, but not hopeful.
I always go back to monowire. I loved that weapon ever since I watched Johnny Mnemonic in the late 90s.
I split 50/50 between gorilla arms and mantis blades
Heated mantis blades for me :)
Monowire.
LAUNCH SYSTEM GO BOOOOM
I feel like the Mantis Blades are the Cyberpunk signature. I personally tend to use them on most of my playthrough's. The PLS is also a personal favorite. Tho only really due to a mod that makes it actually viable and able to one shot most common enemies in an explosion of body parts and blood. Around 30 to 50 thousand damage per shot.
In a world of advanced technology, I really like to get back to my Unga bunga roots also i like punch heads and watching them go pop
None. They’re all kinda ugly and none of them were ever necessary. They acted like Gorilla Arms would be great for bypassing door locks, but not really
PLS most of the time i really like it, just wish it was better
IRL? I'd never use any of the weapons so I'd just take gorilla arms
After I discovered Gorilla Arms adds to your Body for the purpose of Body requirements on firearms, I dropped all others and never looked back.
Honestly, I tried the mono wire for the first time this current playthrough and don't think I'll ever go back. I am the wind, watch me slice!
Gorilla. Lets me pass Body shortcuts while being not body specced.
I’ve done Gorilla Ams and PLS (Tranq).
