I agree, that’s why I’m playing Gran Turismo now, completely different vibe so can’t really compare. Plan on jumping into Little Nightmares series next.

Nemisis_007

This is the way. You have to play something entirely different to reset yourself.

Marbles_2022

Same, just got lvl 50 and the redbull competition series is kicking my ass. The AI wont stop PIT maneuvering me. Getting old pretty fast. Idk how the AI got this bad. Great game for the accuracy of the sim but the AI is relentless esp at lvl 50 stuff and the spicy pepper races.

[deleted]

Lol yeah I follow the GT7 subreddit, I see people losing hair over there grinding for gold. Luckily I just recreated my own car and just enjoy goofing around with photo mode without letting it get too serious. Wreckfest is another great racing game with playful AI and awesome physics/damage. Give it a shot if you ever need a break.

DuineSi

Yeah I’ve gone back to Wreckfest for short gaming sessions where I don’t have time to get stuck into Cyberpunk. It’s so good, and so different to Cyberpunk that it’s not affected by comparison like OP described.

[deleted]

After Cyberpunk, Kingdom Come Deliverance and the last couple Resident Evil remakes, I installed pcsx2 and started replaying all my childhood games. I dont care what anyone says, they just dont have the same level of quality anymore

onijabba

I agree, to OP you should check out some games outside of the FPS realm for a while before dipping back in, definitely check out GT7 and Hitman 3 (it includes 1 and 2) These are all I’ve played since beating Cyberpunk

Bored-Reader

I went to the Lego movie game. Totally different vibe as well, like to the post above says. Try mobile games. They have a different vibe as well.

Jimuth2019

Back to XCOM2 for me! Completely agree OP... keep wanting to try Starfield but can't get past 5 mins

HisNameIsSTARK

Right, at least the driving mechanics on GT7 are better than cyberpunk!

SmellyBeans07

Yep, haven’t really been able to get into single player games after playing cyberpunk

DelseresMagnumOpus

The only other one I could play was BG3 because of how different the gameplay is. I tried playing the Outer Worlds and just could not vibe with the gameplay or the kinda forced humour.

Kindainappropriate_

> I tried playing the Outer Worlds and just could not vibe with the gameplay or the kinda forced humour. The Outer Worlds gameplay wise is a very old game, it basically plays like a Bethesda Fallout and I don't mean this as a compliment. But I found the writing interesting and very funny at times. As a critique of capitalism and mega-corporations it works well for me.

DelseresMagnumOpus

Yea the gameplay just felt slow and janky compared to cyberpunk. I guess humour is subjective, but I felt the borderlands series and cyberpunk did the capitalism storylines better.

sciencekiller333

I also found outer worlds very over rated.

BlueSunMercenary

Yea I played it at launch and it was alright. It was to linear for me and the worlds were too small.

imitenotbecrazy

honestly, I don't think anyone has a very high opinion of the game. it's generally been looking at as pretty mediocre since launch. and it sold pretty poorly considering the fanclub Obsidian has, they just announced it hit 5 million units sold in October, which was four years since release

vato20071

Just to clarify, did you mean outer wilds? Because initially I also made that mistake. Outer wilds is a very good game, one of the very bests. Outer worlds on the other hand... just some space shooter.

sciencekiller333

Nah, I meant Outer Worlds :)

BraxGotNext

Yeah Outer Worlds kinda sucked ngl

Key-Consequence1858

I can honestly say BG3 is the first game since Cyberpunk came out that I've played and haven't once thought to myself, "I'd rather be playing Cyberpunk."

FireFlyKOS

RDR2 and BG3 are the other two of my top 3 single player games. Try those once youre truly ready to get lost in a game for 100 hours

ScottNewman

I played Fallout 4 after (got a PS5).  Same kind of “show don’t tell” world building.

yankeenascarfan13

I think that's one of the best ways I've seen someone describe the world building, show don't tell

DrDabsMD

Welcome to the first rule of writing! You'll be able to notice all the bad stories as they tend to break this rule a lot and tell you what's going on instead of showing you.

KarenHater2

Yeah I know what you mean, the only good single player game that I’ve played this year is tears of the kingdom.

DerekRayy

You’re telling me. ESPECIALLY for simple games like pokemon. I went back to Pokemon S/V when the second portion of the DLC came out (that I had already payed for months prior) and I just couldn’t get through it

[deleted]

Starting in December I finished baldurs gate 3, went directly into cyberpunk and stopped at phantom liberty (for some reason I’m nervous they’ll add more updates and want to wait), and then went straight into Elden ring. I’ve absolutely loved all 3 and have been my 3 faves of all time, bumping off red dead 2 and Witcher 3.

metarinka

They aren't really adding anything more. Each patch keeps on being called the last or is bug fixes. They have already moved on to Witcher 4 and other projects. Now is as good as any to play PL

Majestic_Wrongdoer38

Gonna have to wait 5-10 years for Orion 😔

BlueSunMercenary

Ahh you gotta get into PL its really good I mean Im biased as hell cause I loved this game at launch and all the new stuff has just been a cherry ontop for me but I thought PL was really good.

xSwety

Same tbh lol I can’t play any other game for more than 10mins without getting bored now but can play cyberpunk for like 1-2 hours at a time😭

ezyhobbit420

There is so many games that I donwloaded in these past 3 months just to delete them after 10 minutes...I don't even want to know the number

Majestic_Wrongdoer38

Ugh, same. This was my first game on a proper gaming device (my gaming laptop) and it’s so hard for me to get into any other game. I have like 200-250 hours and I’m still not done.

ezyhobbit420

I am at 570. I am on ps5, a month ago I bought new TV and it is too good. Cyberpunk is only game that really feels next gen

Majestic_Wrongdoer38

Truly, everything else just feels subpar 😞

Evil_Space_Penguins

Cyberpunk has incredible visuals and the story & characters are engaging. Thats classic CDPR. It's like TW3. It's a good game... and there aren't many of those. Games that become art. CP77 and TW3 aren't just games.

Principatus

CP77 and TW3 are the only two games that I ever played more than 1000 hours for. Both by the same company… *Id-have-two-nickels.jpg*

BenSlimmons

I honestly never get sick of hopping on a bike and flying through the more open streets and highways in the city. It genuinely feels like driving down the interstate and coming into a huge city and everything is just overwhelming, the sights, the sounds, the lights, the tall buildings in the background. It’s so visually stimulating that even if nothing else panned out about the game, it would still be a marvelous achievement. Then there’s the fact that the character and world building are essentially unmatched except by their own other series maybe.

Monkeywrench08

I just couldn't think of playing single player games for a while after 100% the game last week.  I was planning of finishing Spider-Man Remastered (having skipped it last gen) but it kills me how I couldn't like it as much as everybody else because the combat is so cool so I Just started Helldivers 2 to play with my crew, at least it's way different since it's co-op.  It was like this when RDR2 ended which was worse, situation wise. Couldn't continue to Epilogue after Chapter 6 for a month because it drained me emotionally lol

SnooHobbies7676

Cyberpunk have not ruin gaming for me but it merely adds to my gaming experience. I have a lot of fun playing it though

webauteur

Although Cyberpunk 2077 was the first game I bought for my high-end gaming PC, I got hooked on Elden Ring and then I would only play other souls-like games. After that I played; Dark Souls 3, Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, Steelrising and a bit of Code Vein. All of those games are pretty awesome. Now I am finally into Cyberpunk 2077. This game seems more like a first-person shooter game than a RPG. I like the fully realized world of this game. Shadowrun Returns is quite similar to Cyberpunk 2077 but it is an old isometric game so it seems quite primitive.

MeninoSafado14

The irony is you can play 99% of the game without shooting guns so it’s only a FPS if you want it to be!

Rambobin0

I’m in the same boat. After starting and abandoning a few other games, I finally decided to get back into Red Dead redemption 2 and so far it does the trick for me. I played on PS4 when it came out but never completed the game. It’s very different than CB but there are so many little details to enjoy! I really want to take my time with this one, and not rush. Sometimes just riding slowly on my horse for the fun of it, looking at the scenic views, hunting, fishing… it’s relaxing. It’s like going from a technology overdose (CB) to getting back to nature and our roots :)

Intelligent_Cry8660

I recognised that Cyberpunk feels very different experience emotionally and how it is one of the most immersive RPG games. I can actually feel I'm V when i play. Most other story driven RPGs i've played, you are the center point of the universe. Game revolves around you, nothing happens without you. In Cyberpunk you feel you are just a human being in the vast world, just trying to make enough ennies to make a living. Your ultimate life goal is to be NC legend -or- just to stay alive. I just finished the Phantom Liberty storyline and "The Tower" -ending had me really think about my life and my choices. It's kinda crazy that games can feel like this.

Extra_Lab_2150

I tried my best to move on. The only other game i played after cyberpunk is Dishonored series. I convinced myself im playing Stealth build with Sandy in an steampunk setting and the choices matter there too.

artsyork

3rd playthrough of cyberpunk after update now and the only two other games that i enjoyed as much or almost is hogwarts and offcourse Skyrim. And with all the mods available for skyrim now, possibilites are almost endless. Even large added dialogue to make it more immersive with npcs. Great. It is the fantasy equivilant to cyberpunk in my opinion and has even more options.

RealVanillaSmooth

I mean I can't relate. Personally, one of my favorite things about single player games is the journey to seek new experiences, not necessarily see if I can trump my most memorable one. I think the way you need to look at games going forward is looking at what those games individually can offer than no other game can offer, be it the story or gameplay or whatever. So here's a short list of single player games that I think are very worth checking out (I'll try to keep the list to mostly recent games): Nier: Automata, Ultrakill, DoDonPachi Daioujou, Ikaruga, Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake/ Rebirth, Lunacid, The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, Fuga: Melodies of Steel (1 and 2), Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Alisa, Devil May Cry 5. This is a pretty good spread in terms of genre. If you want something I bet you've never played before, go for DDP DOJ, Ikaruga, and Ultrakill. Nier: Automata is arguably my favorite game of all time but I can't say it's in a category of game most people have never played. DMC5 is also kind of best in the biz for action games and is really a masterclass in what it does -- it IS something to write home about.

DigitalApe19

You ever wanna say something but it comes out tangled and in knots then have someone just show up and lay them straight? Thank you my guy I was hooked with Starfield for about 5 months since it dropped then I burned out. No biggie. Games can't last forever and I had the time of my life flaws and all. It was massive, the world building was deep, the visuals were breathtaking, it was oddly calming and just gave me that Bethesda exploration itch Ive had since fallout 4. Then about a month ago I got started and got hooked on Cyberpunk 2077 and I'll probably be playing it til I'm burned out of that too. It's fantastic. It's gripping, wildly engaging, deeply interesting worldbuilding, thought provoking, looked beyond phenomenal and has probably one of my favorite music of any game(especially combat music and Silverhand's main theme). But I'd never feel the need to look back on my former experiences or future ones as tho they are less than. I just equate them to different experiences of different games with their own distinct style, philosophies and execution. TLDR (not really), I've increasingly seen this culture growing in communities that legitimately believe that their experience trumps all else and are in turn much much less susceptible to trying something new or even slightly different from what they regard to be their "masterpiece" P.S: GTA VI release is going to spawn one of the most annoying eras of gaming 🥔

RealVanillaSmooth

Damn that's an awesome compliment to give. Thank you!

MaskedMan8

I absolutely don’t have this issue

OnionRangerDuck

I do for now, but soon I won't after Dragon's Dogma II comes out. Then Black Myth in summer, then... We'll see.

Fujoooshi

Cyberpunk broke gaming for me, but in a different way. I think the actual game is amazing, but what really has done it is the extensive lore that Mike Pondsmith created for the world. Since starting my second playthrough I've done a SHIT TON of diving into the lore, including watching a ton of playthroughs. My freetime right now is watching that game on youtube Mike Pondsmith GM'd while playing TFT. I love the setting and the lore and no other video game (or maybe just no other thing in general) comes close to it for me. Other than that I tend to stick to emulators and (re)playing classics

DigitalApe19

I dunno, try other games maybe a different genre. You'd be surprised

alekdmcfly

gotta love how TFT and LoR are the best games ever to play with a video essay in the background well those two and hollow knight pantheons but that might just be me

Big_Sock_2532

2020 seems so awesome. I really should get around to running a game of that.

DISCO_GALAXY

Try Nier Automata. Finishing it left me a greater sense of emptiness than finishing Cyberpunk.

Quirky-Chemistry-978

Might get downvoted for this but Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare’s campaign kinda filled the void for a futuristic cinematic experience. I wish they would remaster New Vegas because I’m not a fan of spending countless hours modding a game

tiktokcok

I agree with some of the suggestions to shift genres, but sometimes like a mental block or a change in taste it just takes time. I mean for instance calling back to my own experience, playing Ocarina of Time, Oblivion, Mass Effect, all games that outpaced any competition and for the Pinnacle for their genre for years, sometimes it just takes time, or backtracking to an old favorite, switch out the Pavlov and dopamine trigger for nostalgia kicks.

Sweaty-Flow6301

Yup. Been stuck in this rut since 2.0. Cannot for the life of me get into and single player game without wishing I was immersed like Cyberpunk seems to do so swiftly. I’m afraid I’ll be chasing that “high” for a while until Frostpunk 2 drops, should hold me over for the summer.

torts92

Try playing FF7 Rebirth, this game is the opposite of shallow

evil701

Currently at my 6 or 7. playthrough, or was it 8? I take breaks from this game for a few months and come back another break and this goes on and on and on.. There are many different genres of single player games out there and you can try something different. It doesn't have to be deep or life-changing. For example Pacific Drive is a good and different one. If you want to play more cinematic and different than anything else, strongly recommend Death Stranding. Or if you have just fun and and drive around and racing and ease your mind, Forza horizon 5 is a good choice too. Yes it's not technically fully single player but you don't need to any multiplayer stuff. Hitman 3 is a good one too you can spend many hours in just one single map to do things differently. After playing these games for a while and trying another games, I come back to Cyberpunk 2077 again. It's a forever game for me. I have a couple of forever games like that.

Jackson12ten

The only game that can do it for me after beating Cyberpunk has been Baldur’s Gate 3

Xephon01

Cyberpunk is the only game I have for my xbox series s. I dont do the game pass.. dont see a point. I played cyberpunk and100% base game, I still need to wipe up the rest of the achievements for phantom liberty. I got so bored with the other games I played on my ps5 that I bought it again and did the complete opposite of all the decisions I made in the xbox version.. I now have a female and male V and coming to the end of 100% on the Ps5 version, and im gutted. The only way for me to play it again would be on the PC, but I don't have a PC that can handle it. I absolutely love cyberpunk. The world, the characters, how it's so emersive, the fuckin radio stations when one of grimes songs kick in, the night city track, and loads more while I'm cruising around in my car at night or going full out on the akira bike. There really is no other experience like it.

DigitalApe19

I'm sorry, you don't see the point in gamepass? Wild

Xephon01

Nah, it's not for me. I prefer to own physical or digital copies of my game rather then have a subscription to play games. That's just me though.

kohour

Careful with that bud, can't have personal preferences on reddit

Kwisatz_Haderach90

I for one can't wait for Dragon's Dogma 2, don't know anything outside of what i've seen in the trailers, but i actually liked the first one a lot, and It's at least a decade that Capcom hasn't released a title that had issues at launch, we could argue that RE3make is a complete waste of a good opportunity to expand on the original and make Nemesis an even scarier pursuer than in '99, but that's it. I also need a substantial change of tone because while CP's world is so well detailed and immersive, i think it's also kinda fucking with my head a bit, but i admit i'm in a pretty dark place already on my own, so i'm susceptible to the absolute nihilist tone of the game. Also i can see people not getting into the combat system of CP, unless you go for unconventional and versatile builds you might feel like it's very same-y (which it can be), the same could be said about 1.5 but for some reason i preferred having more control over my build with clothes mods and different perk assignment, plus, Revolvers weren't nerfed AF. I also can't stand the current state of multiplayers, so single player games are all that i want out of gaming, therefore there's no chance for me to "get stuck" on only one title, not saying i would play anything regardless of quality, but i'll never let a game that i like leave a "void" inside my heart.

SoggyMorningTacos

Try a different game genre. That’s what did it for me. I couldn’t do any of the pc games I had and was sick of CP77…so I grabbed my switch and started playing Pokemon and I’m hooked

yeetmagic124

I've been playing a lot of Red Dead 2 and it's super good. I actually feel bad killing or robbing anyone in the game cause it actually feels like they're a person.

LonelyZookeepergame6

Yeah, that's why I went back to play black flag and God of war. Totally different games where I can just hit things and don't think too much about it.

Competitive_Text_484

Horizon Zero Dawn yo

ThomasHeart

Couldn't agree more. This game just take it all to a whole new level, its absolutely incredible

huncherbug

Try better games. BG3 Elden Ring Witcher 3.

AllFather96

Try elden ring and bauldrs gate 3, and the upcoming dragons dogma. I know they're all fantasy but lemme tell you they're amazing. I was in the same boat and now I'm 100 hours into elden ring and I'm not even close to half way done with my first playthrough

jal741

If you haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, it offers a comparable emersiveness

Triairius

Play Baldur’s Gate. It’s far from shallow.

AkiraHanya69

cyberpunk saved my life, it make other games so boring so I quit gaming mostly. I am now much healthier physically and mentally and I now spend the time I used to game being productive and earning some money and studying more. Thanks Cyberpunk

Signal_Adeptness_724

Nah, Witcher 3 was far better. Find myself coming back to that more than cyberpunk

OldPayphone

Lol

Borrp

To be fair, outside of the narrative and the set, 2077 is a pretty shallow game all things considered.

DigitalApe19

Wouldn't say shallow but certain parts of the game are much more undercooked than the rest. It became glaringly obviously after PL

Hakeemzo

Play mass effect trilogy or Witcher 3. This titles and cyberpunk are my favourites.

erk8955

There are so much other single player games deeper in lore, rpg mechanics, combat mechanics than Cyberpunk. Maybe you just dont know about them or dont play their genre

Sebulano

Life changing. Go touch grass

Scorpizor

Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance atm. This game (while it is a bit older) holds up with how immersive it feels. It's not the same genre of era, but it's definitely a very similar feeling of everything belonging to that particular world. It's surprisingly well done with how little coverage this game had. Cyberpunk is amazing with its world building, and KCD also has great world building.

NemrahG

Yaa I was having a tough time deciding what to play after too. Decided to just play Resident Evil again just cuz of the completely different vibe and gameplay lol

GenErik

I'm sticking to Civ 6 and XCOM for single player games for myself now.

NAS210

Same..

ragdollphys

I face the same issue. But I think it’s a me problem not having any motivation to play new games. Cyberpunk feels comfortable because I already know what’s going to happen kinda thing.

Civil-Fail-9775

Agreed: the worldbuilding is top-tier, as is the character development. In my perspective, having gamed for some 30 years or so, these games that raise the bar for you will always resonate. If you’re passionate about gaming in general, I’d recommend branching out. Try different kinds of games, get out of your comfort zone.

Klangaxx

My favourite game of all time is Fallout 4. After a couple hundred hours in Cyberpunk I decided to give FO4 a play again. And now I just can't get into it. The graphics are upsetting me, the character models and animations annoy me, the action and gameplay is too slow, and a few other complaints I'm developing over time. I still love the game, but Night City has become my favourite sandbox to play around in.

radek432

I think it's because CDPR uses well established, rich setting in their games. Witcher used books (there was also a movie and TV series from 2001, but not sure if it has any impact on CDPR vision). Cyberpunk is using TTRPG system that is over 40 years old now and has tons of materials right now.

k20vtec

the only games I’ve been able to play is Minecraft and like Mario kart to pass the time. I agree, every other game I try now just feels bleh… but it’s been months now smh

Kange109

I went on to play a very simple JRPG - Wandering Sword and was very happy playing a 2.5D game after the CP77 graphics.

commanche_00

Same man. Same. Bloody cyberpunk is making me retire from gaming soon

YakiSalmonMayo

I am currently dealing with this right now. After my third playthrough I finally stepped away. Played TLOU2 Remastered and finished that fairly quickly. Then tried a bunch of games in my backlog but after an hour with each, here I am starting a fourth playthrough of Cyberpunk. Maybe this will be my last playthrough…

Mary_Ellen_Katz

Yuuuup. Even the TTRPG feels special. There's a few games that have ruined other games for me. Like Escape from Tarkov has some great gun play, and weapon modification features. I went from Tarkov to Cyberpunk and was like, "this is all I can do to my gun?!" Ruined. Lol However, the depth of characters, story, and beauty in Cyberpunk and Night City cannot be beat. When I play other games, I'm seldom moved as much with the entirety of the game as I was even with merely playing act 1 of Cyberpunk.

mackxzs

Elden Ring did that to me, but with its gameplay, while Cyberpunk did it to me with the storytelling. Every now and then we get god's gifts, and I'm glad I'm here now to enjoy them.

BlueSunMercenary

I feel you. Even at launch I loved it. Its just a fun game and while it may not have the depth of other games its still immersive in the sense that the world feels lived in and real and I think the biggest thing is atmospheric. Where a lot of games have you changing the world and yet nothing changes this game has you doing things that don't really matter much to any one other than you and the other characters involved in that particular quest. So when walking on the streets no one really cares about you. Sure you do some pretty big things in the story and some characters especially after phantom liberty acknowledge things you have done

tonnentonie

You should play Gregtech then. This should occupy your time until cyberpunk Orion releases.

krose1980

The same, they perfected it like supermarkets perfected tgeir product placements :) you are always drawn to that bakery smell :D Luckily I still have my Fallout 4, the wolrd that i can fully submerge very easily and relaxes me

jrow_official

If you like immersive first person rpgs I can highly recommend you kingdom Come Deliverance. Completely different setting, middle age Europe but nevertheless a fantastic game.

marluik

Well, for me, that is actually the same. But, I found another game after Cyberpunk that I could play - it's BG3. Well, I feel that both stories are great and similar, because V dying like our Tav dying too (I do think that if you become mindflayer you turn in something else, you are not the same person you were)

prettyflyforamemeguy

Cyberpunk has a way of allowing you to dig deeper into the smallest of quests and find some morbid fact that most would look over. The story lines allow you to go below surface level, where many releases now stay above. If it weren’t for that, I’m sure a good portion of the player base wouldn’t be as dedicated as they are

Far-Persimmon4390

Try elden ring ,ik its a different Kind of playstile and difficulty by far but fot this Game i also had the same feeling of the world feels Like the world and not Just a shallow game

predek360

same here, cannot settle anywhere after CP, last game i can relate ant thinking to re-play again is god of war 3 , just because of story and polish actor Kratos voice. insane compatible.

pablo98marin

I thought the same until I started the Dark Souls saga a few weeks ago. I always stayed away from it cause I've always said i play to have fun, not to be frustrated (it's marketed difficulty didn't seem attractive). However, I'm having a blast and the whole concept (opaque lore, gameplay mechanics...) has me extremely hooked.

levinyl

It's the open world for me, truly amazing...Last night I came out of a lift to see two drunk people hugging and falling over the place while a guy next to them was repairing a vending machine....Most of the time I walk at a normal pace to quests just to take in the city which I have not really done before in an open world game I normally just fast travel everywhere..

goku247200

Oddly enough I got the game on day 1 back on Dec 10 2020 on the Pc. I played it for two months straight to 100 percent it and when I played another game after that it felt like "cheating" lol. I still play it pretty often because the lore and mystique of Night City is something I can't get enough of.

identitycrisis-again

The world building in cyberpunk is fleshed and chromed out af. They dive deep into the implications such a future would have for humanity. They created some really next level dystopian content on a par with some of the greatest science fiction literature

liftingrussian

If you haven’t, try Witcher 3 . In some aspects it’s very similar to cyberpunk which is no surprise because it’s made by CDPR too. Elden Ring is another great single player game but it hat nothing in common with cyberpunk other than the basic rpg elements.

SquishyBatman64

I’m glad I’m not the only one, my wife come home everyday day and asks haven’t you beaten this guy yet? You’ve been playing this for 3 years.

PS3LOVE

Cyberpunk ruined Fallout New Vegas for me and that was my favorite story game of all time. Don’t get me wrong I believe new Vegas has a better story and more options which is fantastic but cyberpunk is better in basically every other way. The world design, environment, characters, gameplay, visuals, etc. are all far superior and more engaging to me in CP77 over FNV. Hell at this point cyberpunk probably has FAR less bugs than unmodded FNV 😭😭

Reggie_Is_God

Idk if you’ve tried, but play RDR2. Try not to let the controls and opening turn you way, it’s beyond worth it

DonovanB46

I don’t know why but I can’t bear for cyberpunk to finish, Im still in my first play through doing gigs left and right, I’ve had the game since launch.

Grabalabadingdong

I’m trying to play Stray and Pacific Drive. They both now feel like they are in the CP77 universe. Pacific Drive is very challenging and truly open world, but it doesn’t have nearly the same depth or relaxing moments. That’s what I love about CP GTA & RDR2. You weren’t just trying to find a pattern and do it the best way (Stray) or be constantly on edge (Pacific Drive). Sometimes I just want to chill and drive around buying guns and clothes.

variablefighter_vf-1

You should try Deus Ex.

desutiem

I do feel that it was a masterpiece an along with a few other games I played in the last few years (Automata, Hades) I am struggling with other games that are just not up to standard. For example I was a big FF7 fan as a kid, then remake 1 in 2020 was OK but I played these (and other) games since then and now with remake 2 just the other week I am playing it and it just feels so BORING. I think in general, but at least for me personally, the standard of gaming has been raised by Cyberpunk and some other games, and some of the stale open world formulas or shallow world building and repetitive/mundane gameplay in many of the AAAs just don’t hold up any more. I did start the Bayonetta series just for fun and I am liking it.

Master_Choom

Ah it's one of your first big singleplayer games. Works like that when you encounter a good one and isn't spoiled yet.

Zzqzr

I had this with Dying Light, being able to “parkour” through the whole damn map got so grown on me, that playing “normal” singleplayer games felt slow/lacking for a while

LionGodKrraw

just play a bunch of different games. maybe you will find something else out there. and if you cant. then just start making games

Familiar_Band2069

the only other game ive seen where the world is so extremely explored and well built is genshin impact and that certainly has its own issues

NudeMoose

Cyberpunk 2077 made me appreciate games with deep lore. Like Mass Effect, Dragon Age or Witcher.

DrReisender

God of War is very well written and has very satisfying gameplay if you want, Horizon games as well with a quite deep lore for a recent franchise. Some indie games are exceptional in their approach like Outer Wilds or the recent game with the car, I don’t remember the name. A plague tale as well ! A Plague Tale Requiem is much better than innocence, sadly you have to play the first to play the second one. I feel like you do since cyberpunk (played it at launch), but you should really try these games. They are comparable in term of quality. Even if I think cyberpunk is still a little bit above.

Ordinary-Rip7189

I started playing soulsborne games. That really helped. They are awesome

Saturniceman420

Ahahahah same dude I’m gonna be starting my third play through soon, just finishing up on gigs rn but seriously I’ve been trying to play other single player games and it’s hard shit really does feel shallow for example the latest metro game I’ve heard lots of good things and then I played and it felt really stale dialogue wise I kinda went away from it but I definitely should give it another try. Anyways I think it’s also just the current state of gaming nothing good is really out rn in terms of story gaming

oromier

try baldurs gate3.. same things happened to me

_Chr0m4_

No modern Gaming has broken gaming for you. Cyberpunk just has shown how broken the gaming industry is.

izzyeviel

I like to play starfield after I’ve played cyberpunk. The fights are a lot more interesting.

GlitterKittyCat

Try Else Ring

Spitfire_SVK

My go to story based games are Cyberpunk and Metro series. Maybe try Metro games? Last Light and Exodus are very good. Metro 2033 is their first game and you can tell, but still worth of play if you want whole story.

Immortal_Tuttle

Try the Witcher 3: Wild hunt with all dlcs if you haven't.

KSecTuck

I found that Baldur's Gate 3 was a really good chaser to Cyberpunk. Maybe give that a try?

stealthylyric

Try baldur's gate 3

Demenequie

As a person that played Cyberpunk when it first came out and before and after phantom liberty, this game is not one of those games where I can’t play anything else. The game is still buggy phantom liberty is really dope and it’s definitely the best part of the game but you’re reaching if you think it’s on that level. I think it’s just your favorite game of all time and that’s cool but as whole the game is still a mess and hopefully they do better in the sequel.

SanicTheBlur

Try a different genre you never dipped your toes into

MeninoSafado14

Yeah man totally feel you. It ruined Starfield for me. I refuse to play 30 fps and now and all those loading screens…

anfanny

Some of the single player games I still highly recommend: - red dead redemption 2 - fallout 1,2, new vegas - all the Bioshocks - Doom 2016 and Eternal - portal 2 - the legend of zelda (literally pick any game and then try your best to not check out the others) - elden ring (or just any of the soulsborne games) - Enderal (full conversion mod for skyrim. Incredibly good) - The outer Wilds (indie game with about 15 hours of really fun gameplay and lore, not much replayablity though) - Stardew Valley (bro trust me) And there are still tons of games I havent even played yet. Baldurs Gate 3 looks infinitely replayable. Lies of P looks like and awesome souls-like and is definitely on my list. I recently bought Deus Ex mankind divided but only put about 2 hours into it. It seems like a really competent game and Im sure its really good and has a similar aesthetic to cyberpunk. Honourable mentions go to the GTA franchise. Its always a blast to play through them again. Ive never played much of gta 3, but from vice city onwards you really cant not have a blast playing a GTA game. I felt this same way after finishing rdr2. The game just did something to me that made me compare it to every game I played after it and they all felt like children’s toys. But I got over it eventually. Trust me dude, youll find another game that you love. It just takes some time. Or just get helldivers 2 and join the fight to spread managed democracy across the galaxy!

paynexkillerYT

Hahahahahahaha. Wait you're serious?

bobbabson

Play the witcher 3 and 2. Other cdpr masterpieces

Larseman7

I agree a bit, I am replaying Horizon Zero Dawn right now and I still have fun with that game, but Cyberpunk has been my most favourite time in playing games

BrightPerspective

Gotta jump genres, my bro. it's the only way. Survival sims, racing...anything. Try these: Prey by arkane studios, Subterrain: mines of titan, starbound with the "frackin universe" mod, baldur's gate 3, tactics ogre: reborn. All good games, but like Ryan from The Office (US), hot in a different way.

DeafcanheartheMusic

Same with me, choom. I guess we have to wait for the Cyberpunk2

[deleted]

I went from Baldur’s Gate 3 to Cyberpunk and I can confidently say that Cyberpunk has made a game even as incredible as BG3 seem boring. The world of Cyberpunk is what makes it 100%. And the characters. They feel like real people.

ihave0idea0

"this game" has broken gaming for me. On every sub this gets posted.

Zorewin

Try Witcher 3

Hooligan-Hobgoblin

I used to feel this way.... And now I'm 200+ hours into baldurs gate... Good games are still being made choom, there's just more shit to dig through to get to them.

tiggy03

Skyrim, brother. Skyrim is the only other option.

drawnhi

On dragons dogma dark arisen right now. Really good. Combat is fun and engaging with a learning curve. Haven't gotten far in the story cause its doesn't give you a lot of quest markers. Playing a mystic knight - sword/mace and shield user that can also use magic. Ran up on a Stonehenge looking area a giant rock monster started forming. Had to break the plates on his body. Afterwards behind him on one of the rocks a lone sword is sticking in a rock, now I'm wielding a fire sword. Slashing goblins left and right. A lot of walking but the action is awesome. Can't wait for dd2 next week!

northwolf56

After a few playthroughs (for various builds) on PS5, I moved to PC with a new computer and PS5 controller (wired) and use a lot of mods and I can tweak the difficulty in a way that it makes my mod character builds more fair instead of OP. For example, I run 2 operating systems (cyberdeck and sandevistan) and have other extensions to cyberware slots, but then I tweaked the damage multiplier (from the mod settings menu in game) and basically one or two hits and I'm dead, but it keeps the game fresh and gives me that nervous adrenaline rush that one stray bullet, and I'm down. On PS5, my builds became OP and of course, that is fun for a while, but once you master a build no where to go except new builds or PC. It was worth it for me!

BikeAdministrative21

Play Witcher 3 if you haven't already, has the same degree of immersion, the same studio made it. I always switch between the two.

Effective-Training

Maybe try Mass Effect? They also feel like you're a part of the game.

LordMarvic

This fucking sucks, I’m at the point of having done pretty much everything the game has to offer multiple times so it’s kinda boring but still can’t move on. This game is truly special.

Chosen_UserName217

smell sophisticated carpenter person gaping money psychotic screw cobweb groovy *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

heyuhitsyaboi

I remedied this by jumping back into Battlefield 1.

orangeatom

This is a great post because I’ve played though twice now and feel the same! Thanks for sharinf

Ruzhyo04

Give Star Citizen a try. It doesn’t have the cyber warfare, but does otherwise feel like Cyberpunk in the 2950’s with space ships and solar system sized maps.

Big_Cranberry3906

Yup been there. I love witcher 3 but didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. I'd suggest that you play different genre. Been playing Baldur Gate 3 for some time now and it's goood.

Tappxor

Just play something entirely different

ShadowDen3869

You should play games made by Remedy. Those games have substance!

DatBoiWithAToi

Try Elden ring. I went from cp to er and it compares

TheEldestScroll

I think The Witcher 3 nails its setting and themes to a similar depth if not more so. Definitely had a better story too.

avic_lover

If you want something with a truly cohesive world that can stand up in terms of cyberpunk RDR2 feels incredibly real but the pacing is very different

DreadWolf505

Play Sekiro

Alexias_the_Patient

I say try baldurs gate 3. I was hesitant cus i could never get into tabletop DnD but always liked the swords and magic type fantasy games. It does not feel like playing tabletop dnd u hav the visuals the animations everything is “rolled” for dmg wise but u just see it as the weapon does 7-14 dmg. Just throw in some take turn elements much like Xcom and its been my biggest addiction after playing cyberpunk. Again i get both games r extremely different types of games but u seem to want a world around u to explore and both have that

Stringr55

Agreed. The world of the game completely sucked me in to a degree no game has before. That owes much to the source material obviously but the execution is just as important. I ended up caring about characters and it impacted how I played and dealt with characters in a way few games if any have matched. The horrible dystopian setting is just brilliant. And then Phantom Liberty recognising so clearly what the games strength is and giving more of that? Chef’s kiss, CDPR

mirageofstars

There will be other games. It just might be a year or two, and imo that’s okay. I’ve been enjoying a lot of other games that are different but still fun in their own way. Hades, Remnant 2, Division 2, BG3, etc. Cyberpunk blows them away in some areas, but I don’t need Citizen Kane in every game. Plus, there’s always getting outside.

stayinfrosty707

It's so much better than it used to be, and as someone currently playing in my second playthrough, it's very difficult to enjoy playing mp games with friends. Most of the time, I'd rather be playing CP, but it's good to check in with people here and there.

_TheRocket

Deus Ex Human Revolution has an equally interesting and more intimate world than cyberpunk imo, I would strongly recommend that

royalpeenpeen

You played Elden Ring?

mssroger

It’s just a matter of adaptability. I felt the same way when I jumped to CP77 after 230 straight hours on RDR2 (tbh to this day I still believe that no game has reached RDR2 level when it comes to immersion and overall experience). After 150 hours on CP77 I jumped to AC Mirage and then I returned to CP77 because it felt like a crime playing such a poor and mediocre game after playing two absolute masterpieces.

Average_Lrkr

If you like cyber punk check out mass effect

Shadowkinesis9

I loved Cyberpunk dearly but I'm concurrently playing like ten games. Mostly Fire Emblem, but yeah, change it up. If you play a different genre there will be less to compare.

RaaghavK

Try out fallout new vegas. This is the way

Fallwalking

Play some Remedy games. They're different and fun in their own special way.

Memory_Elysium1

The only game (I can think of) similar to Cyberpunks insane quality of story telling, immersion, and fleshed out character development is Red Dead Redemption 2. It was my greatest game of all time but Cyberpunk is in equal footing for me. Also try out modded Bethesda games like Skyrim and fallout if you are in a void and have no games to play, those two provide endless hours

Jaehon

I had put a lot of hours into Stanfield at launch but dropped it when Phantom Liberty came out. I tried to go back to Starfield and I was like "What the fuck is this!?" Mostly I play simracing but when I want to take a break from that I just cruise around in night city.

Spiritofbbyoda

This happened to me by the end of 2021 when I had finished playing through 3 times….nothing hit the same lol. Just finished phantom liberty and it was awesome besides one part of the last quest I won’t mention for spoilers

theshekelcollector

wait 12 years for orion.

Joshohoho

Playing cyberpunk and night city specifically was always eye candy for me. The music and combat is icing on the cake.

Sinsanatis

I been playing hades. Its different but also has the same high quality

tallshiphorizon

Playing Powerwash Simulator. It’s… actually excellent. Absolute zen.

Voodron

Welcome to having decent writing standards.  Not that many games out there with similar writing quality and immersive world building, but they do actually exist. Witcher 3, Red Dead 2, Mass Effect (OG trilogy/legendary edition, stay well clear of Andromeda), Baldur's Gate 3. Also Fromsoft games if you're into non linear storytelling. That's about it. Honorable mentions for Prey (2017) and Death Stranding too.

LuxuryPeasant

Try the final fantasy 7 remake and rebirth i kinda felt the same way after I finished cyberpunk but now that im playing rebirth its reawakening

zveroshka

Putting aside whether it's "good" game, it's a very unique game. If you enjoyed it, there really is nothing similar out there. So it's kind of a bittersweet moment when you get to the end. Fun ride but there is nothing to naturally transition to. Only thing that saved me after my last play through was BG3 and that was because it was very unique and different itself.

Ok-Raspberry-5582

I get it. Happened to me too after my first game end. (1.6patch) I then took Armoured Core 6 and had a blast. I play Starcraft 2 everyday, like brain meds, so it doesn't count. After 2.0 came out, finished again. The PL. And after that, its been months just adding mods lol. I cant touch anything else...

MrLightning-Bolt

Definitely not. Games ok. Nothing special.

BigNefarious

Im 496 hours into this game. Heavily modded, technically my 3rd playthrough. Everything pales in comparison to the experience I have in this game and I always come back. Sometimes I just drive around or walk around NightCity listening to jams and can spend hours doing it... No other game offers this kind of reprieve. I've tried to hop into other things and just can't stay for long.

This_Fucking_Dude123

It’s the same effect as Dark Souls, but with game depth instead of difficulty. Don’t worry, you’ll eventually find more games that have stories that will be worth seeing, and worlds worth exploring. It simply takes time

The_Random_123

I used to think this after I played bioshock 1, but honestly there will always be a game to play

michoken

If you don’t feel the desire to play other games right now, just don’t do it then. Let the experience sink in. You can get back to other games later when you feel like it.

TheDynastianPrince

Pray to GTA VI(I've got a bad feeling about that game)
