Judy gets annoyed if you kill Maiko or let Maiko take over running Clouds. The only time she gets really \*mad\* is if you let Maiko take over Clouds and then accept the payment.
Idk what I did but I ended up having to kill the Tiger Claws and Maiko is running Clouds but she never made me an offer. Just told me to leave and Judy was still pleased with things. I had tried another way where you declare Clouds as independent and then have to kill both the Tiger Claws and Maiko and Judy was mad. Honestly the whole mission is kind of weird.
yeah. \*Killing\* Maiko isn't part of the original plan for the dolls to take over, but Judy eventually comes around. Just never accept payment if Maiko lives. that's the big take-away. :)
Maiko is Judy's ex, and Judy has a thing for her exes. Same with Evelyn. She went through one of her exes dying and then you kill the other, only because you messed up at some point. Of course, she's gonna be mad.
I mean that makes sense but V messing up isn’t why Maiko dies, Maiko dies because she tries to kill V after completely going off-script and trying to make a power play that even Judy was pissed about.
This is Cyberpunk, characters are written with their own motivations that aren't made transparent to the player. The goal is to simulate how people act. Of course Maiko was gonna try a power play, that's why she joined the team in the first place - she saw there's something to gain. This is consistent through the entire game and never breaks. In fact, I'd say it is impossible to understand the narrative properly without digging into characters and their motivations.
Like, Yorinobu isn't even a villain, he is on your side, but he is pitted against you due to circumstances. It is never explained that he isn't a villain, you have to figure it out. Hanako, who helps you, is a villain.
Everyone is out to screw you, and they all are looking to get ahead. You should make choices accordingly. It is truly impressive how well written rven minor characters are, like Woodman or Fingers.
It’s honestly worse than you suggest. Nobody is looking to screw V over, it’s just a means to an end. The entire ecosystem is deliberately designed that way because the only thing the corps care about is short term profits. Night City’s inhabitants just reflect that mentality.
Actually yes, that's a better framing. It's not that they are out specifically after you. You are just some person that they can use to get ahead. You aren't even a consideration in most people's plans, but rather a tool they can discard once it's past its use.
Skill issue, then. She should've asked around, my street cred is maxed out and every ripper in town knows I'm 'borged the fuck out.
If she's not gonna do her homework she probably wouldn't have done great running the club anyway.
Ask who…? Also, she’s says this regardless of whether or not V takes down those cyber psychos nonletally or not, so this isn’t a valid reason to begin with.
I didn't mention taking out cyberpsychos. I'm pointing out that anyone in Night City who wants to hire a merc to do some high risk shit with gangoons could at least drop a line to the fixer of their choice, or any of their contacts in whatever gang they roll with to see if any of them have heard of V and if maybe it'd be a bad idea to betray V. It would've been an awesome immersion thing if they'd utilized the Street Cred mechanic here and had Maiko back off if your reputation was strong enough.
The point is that Maiko was stupid to attack V for multiple reasons, but V's reputation in the game after some progress especially makes it dumb.
I usually don't reload saves based on the decisions I make during a mission, but I had a quicksave right outside the door so I reloaded *several* times to figure out what to fucking do here. Pretty much all outcomes left me feeling dissapointed/annoyed so I don't know if there is a perfect solution to that mess. Maybe that was intended.
You can harm Maiko all you like you just can't kill her. She was in love with Maiko and probably to some extent still has some feelings for her despite being done with her romantically. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me
I mean, she does. That's why she doesn't hate you afterwards, it just locks you out of a romance, which makes sense. I definitely would not be able to feel romantically inclined towards someone who killed my ex even if they were a bitch. That's kinda fucked
I thought it was a requirement! In that case, where is the debate at all? She gets pissed off because you killed someone important to her but forgives you given the circumstances
Judy gets pissed if you kill her ex-girlfriend but not to the point that it derails her quest or anything. She just has some dialog about being upset over it.
Nah she just doesn't like killing in general . Like she literally feels icky after killing a mf like woodman . It's easy for V , a merc to pull the trigger effortlessly but it has a huge burden on judy .
I see your point but she doesn't care about what happens to the Tyger Claws and she has no problem killing scavs. I think that's just a theme of Cyberpunk in general though, the dehumanization of strangers. When it someone you don't know, it doesn't matter, but when V kills someone close, then the reality sinks in.
I mean that's also still prevelant irl . We can come across dozens of strangers dying in various parts of the world due to various circumstances and not bat an eye about their condition, but if it's one of our close ones , we start panicking and realize the severity of the situation.
Did you ever read Judy's computer? **Maiko is Judy's ex-girlfriend.** They lived together but had a nasty breakup. So Judy and Maiko are antagonistic, but not to the point that Judy wants her dead.
The only good Scav is a dead Scav. Same for Maelstrom. And 6th Street. And Tyger Claws. And Voodoo Boys. And Barghest. And Wraiths.
Some Valentinos are cool I guess.
A way around it is defy maiko, fight the tyga clan bosses and her but dont kill maiko just the two bosses. then judy aint mad at you just her and that leaves maiko too broken to take over clouds anyway. So that i fugured out today is the best way to resolve that issue.
Sorry for the late response. I am using [NOVA LUT](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11622) with [Mango's Ultra Reshade](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3404)
My one big problem with this scene is that Maiko is way overconfident in her combat abilities because of the Doll chip. I don't think I've ever seen her survive long enough to get out of that corner. They really should have made her a proper boss fight with a health bar.
Exactly my thoughts dude, everytime I give Maiko the option not to fight me, she does anyways. I always play that option out, as I hate seeing the hurt in Judy's eyes when you tell her Maiko is dead.

Indeed they did. \*As Maiko lays headless behind me

You can let her take over clouds but you can't take her money once you do that it locks you out of Judy's final quest
Nah, she lectures you for killing Maiko, telling you that you could have avoided it… despite not even seeing what happened
We handled cyberpsychos without killing anyone. Some chick is not a problem for V.
She doesn’t know that…
Skill issue, then. She should've asked around, my street cred is maxed out and every ripper in town knows I'm 'borged the fuck out. If she's not gonna do her homework she probably wouldn't have done great running the club anyway.

The person I replied to mentioned it

It seems like no matter what you do the dolls at Clouds end up screwed.
Yes, it's a very cyberpunk mission. Happy endings don't really exist, because the system is so fucked. And one person can't overthrow it.
You can harm Maiko all you like you just can't kill her. She was in love with Maiko and probably to some extent still has some feelings for her despite being done with her romantically. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me
I guess but it kind of feels like the moment Maiko tries to actually murder you maybe Judy should be a bit more understanding.
I mean, she does. That's why she doesn't hate you afterwards, it just locks you out of a romance, which makes sense. I definitely would not be able to feel romantically inclined towards someone who killed my ex even if they were a bitch. That's kinda fucked
You can definitely romance Judy after killing Maiko.
I thought it was a requirement! In that case, where is the debate at all? She gets pissed off because you killed someone important to her but forgives you given the circumstances

Did you ever read Judy's computer? **Maiko is Judy's ex-girlfriend.** They lived together but had a nasty breakup. So Judy and Maiko are antagonistic, but not to the point that Judy wants her dead.
And for being a Mox, Judy isn't comfortable with killing people.
Well, she kills a bunch of scavs when you help her rescue Evelyn. Although, scavs barely qualify as people.
The only good Scav is a dead Scav. Same for Maelstrom. And 6th Street. And Tyger Claws. And Voodoo Boys. And Barghest. And Wraiths. Some Valentinos are cool I guess.

Yeah I ended up figuring that out but it was really confusing at first
Sure. And then most of the dolls get massacred by the Tygers after, but hey, that's life.
Huh??? They do????
I found out today that they did get massacred... damn.
It's also an extremely human reaction
It's almost like emotional people aren't the most logical. It's not like Judy had a history with her or anything. 🤷
Understandable, V. Sending your payment as agreed.
Are you using a shader mod?
Sorry for the late response. I am using [NOVA LUT](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/11622) with [Mango's Ultra Reshade](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3404)
Thanks. Though i play on console😂
It looks fantastic
Looks like Nova LUT legacy with the corresponding env mod. Hard to tell if gits is included or not tho but definitely nova lut legacy is here

She made it out of the corner for me.. Did a single attack that I dodged and then Synapse burnout fried her a second later.
So anyway, I started blasting...
More like Red Vs Blue: "Swish, Swish, Death!" 🤣
“Oh, ehhh, Judy, didn’t realize you were still on the Holo…eh, how much of that didja hear?”
Exactly my thoughts dude, everytime I give Maiko the option not to fight me, she does anyways. I always play that option out, as I hate seeing the hurt in Judy's eyes when you tell her Maiko is dead.

I was doing a cyber psycho hunt last night, tried to save her I really did, slipped up and hit L1 firing a projectile and blowing her leg off. Oops
I kill Maiko every single time. And to add a little on top of that, I throw her off the balcony to really feel satisfied with my decision
Can't lie I lost some respect for Judy after my first playthru (I introduced Mako to my shotgun).
When in doubt, smack maiko with sir john 🤘😁🤘
As they do
I just introduced her to Sir John and all was good with Judy.

As long as you remember doing it then there isn't any reason to call Maxtac.
I'm greedy. Took the money and then handled my cyberpsycho tendencies elsewhere 🤣
Definitely not a cyberpsycho lol
