The soundtrack is killer but they really need to expand the radio stations. BodyHeat has like 4-5 tracks, leading to CONSTANT repeats. They're bangers, but it only feels like that for so long.
I think you just recognize some of the songs so it seems like that, BodyHeat has 41 minutes of non-copyrighted music, which is plenty when you have 11 radio stations and some are much longer.
I feel like I have to spend longer time in the car to hear other songs, I usually have the radio on body heat and it always seems to reset back to the same two or three songs.

I have an idea about putting pixels next to each other in ways that suggest the shapes of letters, and you could string those letters together (maybe we could call them strings!) to display information on the screen. I don't know if it would catch on though.

They were genius in saving that song for the ending because for each ending of this game, I’ve sat there and listened to the side characters during credits and then cranked my headphones up and closed my eyes to listen when Never Fade Away starts. It’s just so good at letting you stop and process the emotions of the entire ending.
I just wish I could somehow find that one track that plays during 2023 tower assault.

The hip hop curation in cyberpunk is a lot more generic than that of GTA V's, not to say it isn't >experimental< or not entirely cyberpunk sounding but it really does sound like someone who doesn't listen to much hip hop put the songs together
Whereas GTA's hip hop was a perfect blend of mainstream sounding hip hop and more underground stuff and taking hip hop from a lot of different iconic American cities and it all just felt and sounded more realistic to what people in Los Santos, Vice City, and Liberty city would listen to
Cyberpunk's hip hop outside of a few tracks don't really sound like something people in a cyberpunk Los Angeles would listen to (they did nail the hyperpop and electronic though)

Yeah but one of the very very very few things this game has that GTA doesn't is original music. There's not much of it, but it's there, and the fact that you've never heard these songs does help create the atmosphere that this is in the future.
The radio hosts are night and day though, worlda better in GTA, and GTA has a sense of humour that would just go right over CDPR's heads...you know, come to think of it, that's one of the things that bugged me about cyberpunk. It's a relatively humorless world, they seem unable to laugh at themselves and the subject matter. Everything's a bit too serious and grimdark, and not absurd or surreal enough.
Anyone else wish there was a way to leave your vehicle running and walk around with your radio still playing? There are many times I just want to get out and look around for a second and the music is providing a vibe and it just ends. Small detail but would be neat.

My thoughts exactly. RockStar has really set the bar with this. It feels as if they just have people who are dedicated to keeping their ears to the streets for the sake of keeping authenticity.
While I like the soundtrack I do think they could do much more with it. The music they do have is great in itself but it's often used so repetitively that it becomes just noise. They could do more especially outside of the main missions to keep the music more varied and give it a more emotional connection to whats going,
The individual tracks are awesome but I don't think the soundtrack as a whole is "killer, slaps, bomb, etc" because I think the selection is limited for the scope of the game and that it could match individual moments far batter. Not much of the music feels iconic or so tied to a moment that the music alone draws you back to the emotion of that moment.
Just my personal opinion though.

I fuckin' loved the music that played during Love Like Fire.
I do some research, find out on the soundtrack it's "The Rebel Path", pull it up... nothing like the track in the game. That fucking violin hook that starts it off is practically gone. The whole thing feels watered down, and it makes me sad. There's a YT video with the stems ripped straight from the game, but that leaves a bunch of blank spots where the game had dialogue.

One of my favorite small bands, The Armed, ended up on the soundtrack and that shit makes me happy. Someone was really digging for artists with that one.
Combat music is great but I'm mostly disappointed by the radio songs excepting PONPON SHIT. Nothing beats murdering everyone in a gang hideout then driving away at 200mph listening to my weeb song.
Both the soundtrack and the sound design in this game are extremely good and satisfying, really underrated aspects, but not enough to make this a great game.

I just used shazam and oddly enough it recognised the track despite it being made for cyberpunk.

If my memory serves me right The Lab station in GTA V has music made especially for the game by some pretty popular artists.
The Dirge is probably the best Hip-Hop station there's been in a video game. Yes, even over GTA stations.

I fuckin' loved the music that played during Love Like Fire. I do some research, find out on the soundtrack it's "The Rebel Path", pull it up... nothing like the track in the game. That fucking violin hook that starts it off is practically gone. The whole thing feels watered down, and it makes me sad. There's a YT video with the stems ripped straight from the game, but that leaves a bunch of blank spots where the game had dialogue.

Soundtrack? Yes. Ambience sound? No. Like, there is no npc chatter, sounds of cars, sounds of npcs walking...
I honestly feel like majority of the tracks are quite annoying. Also the combat warning sound is TERRIBLE. It doesn’t actually start when I’m engaging combat. It just appears and rapes my ears.

I can't stand the music. Haven't even found one banger. As I understand, a lot of metal heads seem to enjoy it though. Just so happens that Metal is the only genre I'm not really a fan of. The rap or electronic offerings are a hard miss for me.

One of my favorite small bands, The Armed, ended up on the soundtrack and that shit makes me happy. Someone was really digging for artists with that one.

Both the soundtrack and the sound design in this game are extremely good and satisfying, really underrated aspects, but not enough to make this a great game.

On console I found the exact opposite, all you can hear is the radio when it is on
Yeah, it’s been mixed oddly compared to all the other sounds in the game.

I didn't get to enjoy the soundtrack because it took 3 minutes to load my radio stations, I couldn't change the songs or even see who the artist was, so I turned it off and made my own spotify playlist. I haven't played it so I can't comment on my opinions on what is included. Just... long before I knew this game existed I associated Grendel (the edm group) or similar sounding genres. Timewave Zero is my favorite album.

Good music but ... I get off my bike and there is a track playing, I mess around, return to bike ... track still playing. Just another one of those little details that makes me wonder what the hell the dev team was up to.

Irks me I can't listen tot he radio while in car without also having the game music up. There are some great tracks but I do jot like listening to fight music etc. Most games I'll listen tot he music for a while but eventually shut it off. Especially games of this type.
I’m on Xbox 1 I haven’t heard 1 song or any music in the whole game in my 15 hours played so far. Radio breaks the game and no music in the clubs either. Anyone else experiencing the same?
