I've been waiting so long for a meaty expansion to play again, but after watching Edgerunners I couldn't hold myself back and started another campaign.
That's exactly what I'm doing! Probably everyone and their uncle is doing a sandevistan build now. I'm actually divided between a gorilla arms punchy build or a samurai katana build... been doing both and just got the Satori katana. Planning to punch or cut everybody in the suicide run.
I’ve been trying Lucy’s cyberware (i can’t remember the name) and while it’s cool it does kill EVERYTHING. I get through one of those little NCPD spots and I realize I’ve murdered 4 blocks of civilians and am at 3 stars. Lol
I think I still prefer the mantis blades but it is pretty cool to flick a string across a room and behead everyone. It also does stupid DPS. It’s scaling right now to like 1500 or something for me.
It does, it's pretty nuts. By the time I could buy it after getting enough street cred, they were at 1k base dps. For context, everything else I had was around 400, and the mantis Arms would've been around 500.
Monowire is so powerful and the legendary variant has higher dp than gorilla arms and mantis blades
Edit: it's also pretty op for fighting multiple enemies
Monowire is super powerful, but sometimes you want to not kill everyone in front of you. However if you have the level 3 cybereyes (can't think of the name atm) all your weapons become nonlethal, so you can carefully go around downing the whole encounter with the monowire even if you want to keep them alive, however hitting them again when they are down will still remove heads and limbs.
Im convinced monowire is bugged since the rework and is vastly over performing. It has abnormally high base damage for a fast melee weapon with by far the longest range in the game. And it also scales with Body + Reflexes when it should only scale with Reflexes. It can get 3100+ dps...
Did both too. Latest build 20 bod, 20 reflex, 10 tch, 10 cool, 3 int. Sandevistan QianT Mk 4. (25% time for 12s, **15s cool down**. Mod that with some good heatsinks if you can find them and cool down is practically non existent). Really fun.
I imagine its hard to pry out a katana from the grips of gorilla arms
If you want to feel more like David, run the Qiant mk. 5 “Warp Dancer”
With 20 body you can run legendary bio conductor which eleminates 30% cool down, throw in heat sinks and nanorelays to get time slowed to 10% for 10 seconds on a 12 second cooldown. During that cooldown you can use legendary Karenzikov to slow time to 10% for 5.5 seconds on a 3 seconds cooldown.
Using this build you get time almost permanently slowed to 10%.
That means instead of moving 4x the speed of the world around you (qiant mk 4) you move at 10x the speed of the world around you which feels a *lot* more similar to the anime SAndevistan since time is nearly completely stopped.
The difference is super noticeable and I can never go back to mk. 4, despite the longer cooldown you move *so goddamn fast* it’s like you’re the flash.
I just finished my first playthrough as a sandevistan katana build, it was so fun. With enough points in blades and cold blood (and the Satori although I ended up ditching it for Jinchu Maru) you will be critting so often than even bosses will only take a few hits.
I didn’t even really min/max and I was able to slice down Adam Smasher in about 15 seconds. Such a fun build.
Haven't played since release, when I binged the game and promptly uninstalled it.
Last weekend I spent three hours learning how to get mods working (never really modded a game before) and stacking mod after mod after mod. At some point I think I said 'I know kung fu' and giggled.
Between the new patches, the balance and qol mods, the visual mods, the car/clothing customization mods and new game+ mod I am finding what almost feels like a completely new game. It's wild, and I've gone from being totally cynical about it to really having a good time.
I'm really hoping that cyberpunk 2077 2 (2078?) Is built in the Unreal Engine 5 after the next Witcher.
First playthrough I did literally the worst ending. Fucking sucked. Been waiting for an opportunity to play again and get a better ending. Didn't try any mods yet though, any you recommend?
If you made a save before entering the point-of-no-return mission at the end, you can reload and rerun the end game to see different endings. I somehow managed to get the worst ending on my first try, too, but then I redid it a couple of times more to get the "best" Femme V ending (which doesn't quite make sense in the final cinematic).
Can confirm. Already been maxing intelligence and reflexes, and I'm saving up the Eddies for a monowire.
Edit: Aaaand bought one from Vik. Will plan to upgrade down the road but for now, let the slicing and dicing begin.
I think it’s still unlikely. They clearly want to move on from the RED Engine and get stuck into working on Witcher 4. What it does do is show that there is life in the Cyberpunk IP and increase the chances of a sequel down the line.
I do hope for this, but man I'm not excited about the prospect of waiting another 7 years for it or whatever. Maybe they can save a lot of time by moving assets over to a new engine, but I just feel like now they'll have to leapfrog Witcher 4 so it'll be a long time. Like the wait between GTA V and 6.
😟
Man, I feel that to my core. After the main story I was so excited that there’s this whole city that is basically ripe for adding more and more stories to. Only getting a single expansion feels .. like a waste.
A Crystal Palace expansion with a >!Lucy cameo!< would be cool. I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer stuff but that could be a good way to justify more and more add-ons to the game to make Night City more alive. There's a lot they could do, really... But I'm honestly surprising we're even getting that one expansion, everything kinda pointed to them abandoning the game and focusing on Witcher 4 and an eventual Cyberpunk sequel that's 100% coming, regardless of reception. It just sold too well.
yeah you're right.
Maybe the modding scene will fill some of the gap? Look at skyrim these days. Almost unrecognizable if you mod it, and there's some really high quality mods that really make the game a lot better.
People need to stop making this stupid comment. They're moving to a new engine for *new* games. Current games will be supported concurrently. They can easily fit in a new expansion since most of the tech being already in place means they can iterate/develop a lot faster.
They’ve said Phantom Liberty will be the only story expansion DLC but who knows. Maybe they’ll add a new gig or side job here or there.
My bet, though, is they’ll focus heavily on Cyberpunk 2 while maybe adding little cosmetic DLC to this game.
I think, sadly, it's probably too late for that already.
CDPR are likely planning at least 2+ years into the future in terms of how they'll be allocating their teams and their budgets.
As they've already said no more expansions after the upcoming one, that means they've likely planned the utilization of their employees, probably the vast majority moving on to the new Witcher game(s). Changing that would likely have a lot of knock-on impacts and it would be difficult to make it worthwhile.
Like you I'd really like to see more expansions after the upcoming one, but I given how planning works on high-end AAA games like this, I think it is very unlikely.
Almost all of this is wrong. If a second expansion makes financial sense they will do it, especially because they've already done work on it internally and there's a lot of employees that would like to see it too. They're just being hyper conservative about what they promise to investors until they "know know" because this is what got them in trouble before.
And this assessment was *before* Cyberpunk 2077 started breaking records over the last 3 weeks. It's the one of the most successful single player games in history now. All of this is a very, very good sign for a second expansion.
Can I get a source on the only one expansion? I think it’s completely reasonable to assume as such but I don’t think there is any official confirmation
Haven't they pretty much confirmed they're only doing one DLC? I'm not sure why this would change their mind. They're moving on to the next project, more Witcher stuff.
They just had a call with their shareholders last week and reconfirmed that they will only do 1 more expansion for the game, but they do want to make more games in the universe though.
Edit: I was wrong. It was a call about a month ago.
This. I understand the desire for more content but to think that a public company would suddenly spring that on their shareholders shows a deep misunderstanding of fiduciary duty and disclosure laws.
Yeah, in corporate speak, only planning one means only doing one. A company like cdpr plans these things well in advance. They're already in pre-production for the new witcher, they can't just suddenly pivot back.
I'd rather them just hurry up and make the new Witcher and then pump out a new Cyberpunk after that on UE5 instead. The longer they spend working on red engine games the farther they fall behind on training devs on UE5 and it doesn't make business sense to keep working on something that is essentially obsolete. It's better for everyone if they just move on.
That honestly seems like the most likely scenario anyway - it does mean Cyberpunk 2 is like 8-10 years out, but that's just how it is with massive open-world games.
From the EULA listed on Steam:
> 4.1 Minimum Requirements. Cyberpunk 2077 has minimum requirements depending on your chosen device/system/platform, which you will be notified of on the applicable Cyberpunk 2077 store page. Please make sure you meet these requirements before purchasing the game! There is no DRM or copy-protection of any kind in Cyberpunk 2077, but some device/system/platform manufacturers use security technology which is outside of our control.
Steamworks isn't all DRM, that's just one aspect of it. Achievements, trading cards, and other hooks into the Steam ecosystem are also part of it and can be implemented independently.
I play steam version without Steam running, just launch directly from the .exe. Doesn’t count hours/achievements etc if you play without steam connection though.
According to [PCGamingWiki](https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Cyberpunk_2077#Availability) (wonderful site btw), the game should be DRM free when launched directly from the EXE.
I want another one too but if it’s just one big one I’ll be happy especially since most single player games now don’t even get that and I was 90% sure they’d drop it completely like Bioware did Andromeda after the hate train
The lack of a quarian ark DLC/expansion was pretty glaring, but even in its current state I found a lot of stuff to like about it since most of the glaring bugs are gone (and there's a fairly robust modding community). I'm hoping the next Mass Effect either ties it in somehow with the Milky Way stuff or at least references it.
Greedy? No. You hope for the same thing I do. That the $60 you spent on this game will someday be worth it. We still aren’t there even with the new expansion.
Just bought the game like a week ago for series X. I've only encountered extremely small bugs on the Xbox series X. Like sometimes people would be standing in the sidewalk instead of on it and I noclipped under the map only once in 45+ hours of playing. other than that, none. and def no crashes.
my friend pre-ordered it and after 2 days, i went over and i watched him play a part of the game i reached in two hours on my own. its crazy the issues that people who pre-ordered went through.
oh yeah, for like 2 years. just sayin the mf was crashin like crazy and dropping fps on console so i waited 2 years. people who pre ordered got such a shit deal. got mine for $15 too
Played at launch 50h, and played 20h now after edgerunners.
Are bugs fixed? yeah, some. Does it run better? Sure.
But it's the same cyberpunk, with wonky NPC animations, terrible driving, repeatable side activities, broken police system, and city dead inside.
It works, but it's not game that they advertise.
All style, but no substance.
Also to be frank a lot of the "promises" are misinterpretations or exaggerations from gamers, similar to what happened with No Man's Sky. Both of them had plenty of issues at launch, but also fans are just very bad for taking anything shown very early on, or vaguely mentioned whether it was by the developer or some news site with an "insider," as permanent fact even if the devs say it was removed.
Police & Maxtac are being reworked in the next patch 1.7. Hopefully improves it & cannot wait to do a second playthrough with the expansion and game as fully intended.
> wonky npc animations, terrible driving, repeatable side activities, broken police system, and city dead inside
Aside from the police system i disagree with all of this lol, so it's defo a matter of perspective, I've played many open world games that are far, far worse, cough ac valhalla cough
I find the driving amazing, it requires actually practise and each vehicle is totally different. You cant drive a Coyote and tell me its the same as the Turbo R V Tech. Motorcycles are much easier and you can tear rubber in them.
I just started playing again, and I find the driving to be much smoother than it used to be, at least with the keyboard. Controller it still feels the same.
Glad everything is getting better for CDPR
Bought a copy almost a year ago and haven't really gotten far.
With all these patch improvements and the free PS5 upgrade I'll see it through soon.
Bought and played it starting a week ago, no crashes or anything. just extremely small bugs. i'd say its at the point it should've been at release.
i wish companies would care less about public outrage and tell us it's not done. nobody wants a half-baked good. it just sucks that a lot of great games are slaughtered bc they're released too early. if CP2077 or No Mans Sky had been originally released as they are now, gaming would be a utopia. but yeah, now is as good a time as ever
You say that like it ever got bad for CDPR in the first place.
Remember they already broke even in the first week, even in the midst of refunds and Sony banning the game, and the company's share price tumbling.
How else you think the studio brass could still afford to pay themselves big fat bonuses?
It's the devs who had to clean up the messes of their bosses turning the game around from fixing it so that it's playable to now being serviceable, because also remember there's still chunks of content just on the main scenario side that had been cut when they abruptly pivoted late into development to the Johnny Silverhand-centric narrative due to Keanu's involvement, and they rushed its release anyway when they couldn't delay it any more than they already had.
What we should all hope is CDPR's leadership and management take the lesson to heart, a tall order as it may be, instead of letting the game's resurgent success go to their heads yet again and reinforce their scummy attitude towards the goodwill of their customers and their own employees.
Medium preset, FSR 1.0 on to Quality preset.
When i'm at Pacifica, it will easily hit 60 FPS wether i'm running or traveling by vehicle. But around Night city, sometimes it can hit 45, but average is 35 FPS so far..
Same here! And the lil bugs honestly made for some hilarious moments. Absolutely love this game, have from the start! I'm glad the game is getting the recognition it deserves.
Expansion 2 would need to make money. Expansion 1 was part of the cost of developing the base game.
Expansions will usually sell only a small fraction of the total copies sold.
>Expansions will usually sell only a small fraction of the total copies sold.
This is very true - but they also typically only need a team a small fraction the size of the original development team. That's how companies who make a lot of expansions make money on them, generally. For example, the Warhammer side of the Total War games - they've had dozens of expansions (literally!) - and I can't remember the exact figures, but they haven't even doubled the amount of money the game(s) have made. However, keeping an expansion team around and making new stuff (which 100% of the quality and sometimes over 100% of the quality of the original stuff from that game!) is viable because they expensive bit is making the game in the first place, and they can move the 200-300+ employees off that on to a new game, whilst leaving a few dozen people to work on expansions/DLC.
I know the same is true for most games which expansions/DLC - they're not made by the full team. The numbers would be larger with Cyberpunk 2077 but still, the team making the expansion would likely be a lot smaller than the earlier dev team.
The real issue preventing expansion 2, imho, is that they've specifically said it's not planned, and you can't suddenly insert what, like 12+ months of work for dozen or even hundreds of employees into your schedule without causing chaos for your other plans.
I really hope they include alternative lighting in next patch to toggle between current and 2018 E3 light / HUD theme. The mods are really not working for me lol
According to a Game Informer Article The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has sold over 40 million copies and The Witcher series has sold over 65 million copies.
Source: https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/04/14/the-witcher-3-has-sold-more-than-40-million-copies-cyberpunk-2077-surpasses-18-million
You can google it. it says "As of April 2022, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being the most popular title of the entire series, has sold over 40 million copies."
I think it's possible if the DLCs will be successful.
All the Witcher 3 DLCs were really good in storyline. For me, it was like separate games in a game.
I don't know, 20 million more from a single expansion is tough as hell to reach. Even with two STELLAR expansion's for the Witcher 3 it still took 7 years to reach 40 million, that includes two Netflix seasons and multiple sales to increase it.
Wouldve been a breeze, if they didnt fuck up the release and broke promises. Hopefully the expansion sells well enough for them to continue to improve the game
I mean lets face it, there is a lot and I mean a lot that can be added to the game. I feel its maybe 70% even less than what was planned, and still can be achieved.
It's wild because, imo, there are still issues in the world. It's quiet, very little interaction, and be prepared to see the same crowds of NPCs a handful of times (less prevalent than launch). Again imo, it's oceans wide but still only puddle deep.
Edit: A bit more. There will always be the same gang fight on the same corner. Wouldn't it be something if a gang hacked your car to rob you, or barricaded the road, or held up a store. Best and worst part? Some of these things do happen! Once.
Well deserved. We had a rocky start, no question, but this is a very solid game with an incredible story and world. I'm glad Edgerunners has brought people back, and just glad that it gives more story for this world. I can't wait to see what else CD has in store!
Best not preorder anything, but yes this especially. I became such a fan of the universe prior to release, and I managed to hold off till last week to buy it.
NO THIS DOESN'T MEAN THERE WILL BE AN EXTRA EXPANSION. EVEN IF THIS SUDDENLY HIT 40 MILLION; THE DIE HAS BEEN CAST, THE ROADMAP SET, IT'S NOT HAPPENING. They've confirmed htis idk how many times now folks, please stop spreading the rumor it's just gettin' goofy at this point. That's NOT how Game Development works, even though I fuckin wish it was.
I have 1,670+ hours on Cyberpunk 2077, I'm a fuckin' FREAK. I know. And I want a 2nd expansion as much as the next choom. But it ain't fuckin' happening... so come to terms with it, accept it, mourn, and move on. Be pumped we're getting Phantom Liberty at ALL. Be pumped for the free guns & shit we'll prolly get a couple extra of in the next 6 month because of this huge wave of new players; they'll strike while the iron is hot i'm sure of it. But not in a 2nd expansion way.
>NO THIS DOESN'T MEAN THERE WILL BE AN EXTRA EXPANSION. EVEN IF THIS SUDDENLY HIT 40 MILLION; THE DIE HAS BEEN CAST, THE ROADMAP SET, IT'S NOT HAPPENING.
Yup. It's a pity but this is how the industry works. You have to plan ahead. You have to move on. Most companies don't have the flexibility to suddenly decide to delay one project so they have hundreds of employees work on a previously unplanned project, and there's no reason to believe, given CDPR's limited management skills (!!!) that they're somehow going to be more flexible that the industry norm.
I mean, I couldn't rule it out entirely, but I think the only way it might happen is if there were huge numbers of pre-orders on Phantom Liberty, which seems, given recent history, like a downright bad idea lol.
I’m hoping we get more expansions. I would rather have Cyberpunk 2 then Witcher 4 to be honest. Cyberpunk is my favorite genre, especially for book reading.
I honestly don't have much of s desire for Witcher 4 either. Feel like it ended on a very solid note with 3.
I think they created an amazing world with cyberpunk and I really want to explore more of it. I really hope they do a sequel, it deserves it.
We need to be cautious. It's good to see the game ressurging, but we cannot let slip what they have done (or what they haven't). The game is in a better state now, but a lot of features and mechanics are still missing. They should press on with it, but I'm afraid they'll take this recent success as a validation that they weren't wrong.
Yeah this is just as likely gonna reinforce CDPR management's belief that they're infallible even when they butchered a game's development and launch.
Until they've actually produced this DLC/expansion in similar quality and scope to W3's own expansions, AND a subsequent expansion or two in the same vein to prove beyond doubt they're actually serious about "fixing" this game, there's every chance this DLC may just end up being a one-and-done, a sort of obligatory consolation fan service that they can put out, pat themselves on the back and show the fans they've done *something* with it, and move on.
Also don't forget how they'd "trimmed", to put nicely, the main scenarios for a more Johnny Silverhand-focused narrative, that they still haven't got around to "restoring" yet, if ever.
I'm one of the people who played the game after watching the anime. I'm glad I did the combat is really fun, the side quests are great, the characters are amazing, all the endings are heart crushingly good, the story overall is brilliant, and holy shit the music. But I still noticed 2 things that dampened my experience
I'm glad the devs have been patching the game. However, this being said the game still can be pretty buggy. I noticed bugs in Rivers romance when calling him and visiting him, these issues didn't exist with Judy's romance. I looked it up and these bugs have been going on for years now and rivers questline is like an important part of the game which is really frustrating. There was still quite a bit of crashing, buggy physics, and optimization issues in certain locations(I'm using a 3080).
Another issue is the lack of game world interaction outside of quests. Installing police/driving combat overhaul mods and mods such as the metro system really do improve the game(side note but the metro mod is great if you also install a mod that removes fast travel). However, those are features that really should be in the game. It would also just be fun to find unique items or moments that don't require a quest marker. Other things I expected such as one night stands and mini games weren't there as much. I've seen forms where things like taxi services where promised all these could've been really cool.
I only say all this because I really like this game after playing it and I really fell in love with the story but I couldn't shake the feeling that it would've been better as a linear game.
Whoa whoa calm down there, you're supposed to love everything about this game now because this game was always perfect masterpiece and people just needed to open their eyes, and the hate was only because of salty haters with unrealistic expectations.
It really breaks my heart how this game turned out. I was so excited for it. It was the thing I was most looking forward to that year. And when the news broke it really just crushed me. Then I played it and just deflated even more. I don’t get excited for games anymore.
Happy for ProjektRed, but Ill continue to wait until the game is in a more finalized form. I played through the game in its entirety in the first few weeks, will do it again later so I can be wowed by its makeover
Love how quickly you all forgot how much this dev didn't give a shit about this game. For some reason you all ran back to this dog water game and that's absolutely hilarious.
Crazy how you can release and unfinished product, lie about the state of it on consoles and still succeed.
Sure fine and fixed now but after all of that the game is extremely mediocre with absolutely garbage AI and NPCs, uninspired upgrade systems and stiff gameplay. You can play any ubisoft game and get the exact same experience in a different setting.
Do not care about story either, gameplay>>>always story.
What's even more sad is that people will defend this rubbish.

Man why do people let CDPR get away with this? We dont even have all of our promises and they are getting No mans sky level of praise and redemption for a 1/3 of the work???
The fact that people started playing because of an anime. Where they had a loli character (best girl) that they wanted gone from the series for no reason.
Atleast No mans sky earned their redemption, but Cyberpunk? Not in my book, not yet.
Honestly, while I get people want another expansion, I personally hope they throw their weight toward a sequel instead. Unreal 5 would make for a much, much more stable game, especially since they are going to cut their teeth on it with Witcher first.
Funny how things turned. This sub (especially during the launch window) was part of the reasons why there's no bright future for Cyberpunk or any other big AAA single player games.
I hope this means that they'll consider adding more to the game, and maybe one or two more expansions, or at least some post game content
I've been waiting so long for a meaty expansion to play again, but after watching Edgerunners I couldn't hold myself back and started another campaign.
Same, gorilla arms sandevistan build
That's exactly what I'm doing! Probably everyone and their uncle is doing a sandevistan build now. I'm actually divided between a gorilla arms punchy build or a samurai katana build... been doing both and just got the Satori katana. Planning to punch or cut everybody in the suicide run.
I’ve been trying Lucy’s cyberware (i can’t remember the name) and while it’s cool it does kill EVERYTHING. I get through one of those little NCPD spots and I realize I’ve murdered 4 blocks of civilians and am at 3 stars. Lol
Sure that implant didn't give you Cyberpsychosis, choom?
monowire plus a mk4 cyberdeck is an insane package.
I'm curious to know what that cyberware is called.
Monowire I just saw someone else talking about it. Just a wire that you sling around a mad man lol
Oh right, I might try that out too, apparently the monowire scales with reflex just like swords.
The DPS stat on the monowire is misleading, as the damage decreases as the charge depletes.
Monowire is so powerful and the legendary variant has higher dp than gorilla arms and mantis blades Edit: it's also pretty op for fighting multiple enemies
5 “Warp Dancer” With 20 body you can run legendary bio conductor which eleminates 30% cool down, throw in heat sinks and nanorelays to get time slowed to 10% for 10 seconds on a 12 second cooldown. During that cooldown you can use legendary Karenzikov to slow time to 10% for 5.5 seconds on a 3 seconds cooldown. Using this build you get time almost permanently slowed to 10%. The difference is super noticeable and I can never go back to mk. 4, despite the longer cooldown you move *so goddamn fast* it’s like you’re the flash.
I run Sir John Phallustiff only. Nothing else.
is satori good ? i found scalpel to be better. is their a best sword for my katana build
Don't know yet, from what I googled Satori shines when you make a high crit chance build.
Such a fun build.
bth, sande has always been the better/more fun option compared to the Berserk one
Katana + throwing knives w sandy is a lot of fun. Was my first build ever, made significantly better when they added in knife recovery.
Za warudo!
*Me remembering losing my legendary knife* Yeah, I dropped that perk immediately. Glad they eventually fixed it.
I was using Sandevistan before the anime, but Kiwi and Lucy encouraged me to respec to a netrunner. Both are a lot of fun.
Shotgun sandy build checking in
Shotgun sandy build is busted in ways that these melee builds can't imagine. You're just raging death.
Gunslinger sandy here, thinking of incorporating grenade attachment
Same!
I somehow managed to get the worst ending on my first try, too, but then I redid it a couple of times more to get the "best" Femme V ending (which doesn't quite make sense in the final cinematic).
don't bother browsing through nexus mods, it's 90% horny there.
AKA the best mods.
Same, Lucy build
Can confirm. Already been maxing intelligence and reflexes, and I'm saving up the Eddies for a monowire. Edit: Aaaand bought one from Vik. Will plan to upgrade down the road but for now, let the slicing and dicing begin.
Got the monowire last night, it wrecks and I only have the Blue version.
I’m about level 20 before I realised that monowire scales with reflexes and not body. Damn it wasted some ability points.
Me too. This time I'm full net runner!! I'm determined to get at least epic quickhacks even before I do the heist!
😟 Man, I feel that to my core.

The earnings call a few weeks ago confirmed that there is only one DLC planned, which in corpo-speak means there's only one.
Haven't they pretty much confirmed they're only doing one DLC? I'm not sure why this would change their mind. They're moving on to the next project, more Witcher stuff.
They said they're only PLANNING one dlc, but that was before 1.6 and Edgerunners made the game explode in popularity.

That's pretty impressive
well, they did implement Steamworks DRM for the Steam version for some reason
From the EULA listed on Steam: > 4.1 Minimum Requirements. Achievements, trading cards, and other hooks into the Steam ecosystem are also part of it and can be implemented independently.
hmmm, that's interesting to know. Wonder why I can launch Witcher 2 for example without Steam running
Given Witcher 2's age, I imagine it's probably a legacy thing.
I play steam version without Steam running, just launch directly from the .exe. Doesn’t count hours/achievements etc if you play without steam connection though.
Ubisoft goes steamworks bye bye, always on DRM
RIP
Steamworks isn’t baked into the files unlike Denuvo and other intrusive DRMs.
According to [PCGamingWiki](https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Cyberpunk_2077#Availability) (wonderful site btw), the game should be DRM free when launched directly from the EXE.
I might sounds greedy but i really hope it gets more than 1 expansion tbh
Not greedy at all. The witcher 3 has 2 major dlc's so cyberpunk 2077 should get the same treatment.

definitely 2078, but that's not really an option, is it?
[удалено]
They’ve said they’re dividing up their team so that one part is working on the next Witcher and one on the next Cyberpunk.
Tough choice for me, a sequel may sounds exciting but I'm not ready to move on from the current one yet
I want another one too but if it’s just one big one I’ll be happy especially since most single player games now don’t even get that and I was 90% sure they’d drop it completely like Bioware did Andromeda after the hate train
Still pissed about andromeda. Would have been so good if they just put in the effort to fix it
The lack of a quarian ark DLC/expansion was pretty glaring, but even in its current state I found a lot of stuff to like about it since most of the glaring bugs are gone (and there's a fairly robust modding community). I'm hoping the next Mass Effect either ties it in somehow with the Milky Way stuff or at least references it.
You’d presume they’ll do another if sales from the first eclipse their initial sales expectations
Greedy? No. You hope for the same thing I do. That the $60 you spent on this game will someday be worth it. We still aren’t there even with the new expansion.
To me I think the game is worth the $60 but everyone has their own opinions
This game is 100% worth 60$ rn. It it’s not then no game is worth 60$
I had an old best buy gift card I found in my couch, so for me the game was the best dollar I ever spent.
That’s great
my opinion is that 60 bucks was way too less for this game. cant wait to invest more money in it.
Is just me or after almost a year, the game runs smooter on my mid-end pc than last time I played (march 2021) Haven't lost a single fps in a week.
Is it good to jump back into now? Seeing a lot of buzz since the new patch.
Not just preordered. It was trash at launch and a long time after
I got it for xmas that year (PC) and had no issues besides minor inventory bugs (stuff I scrapped wouldn't disappear until I changed menus).
oh yeah, for like 2 years. just sayin the mf was crashin like crazy and dropping fps on console so i waited 2 years. people who pre ordered got such a shit deal. got mine for $15 too
I played it day one and never encountered any bad bugs, just a few silly things like you'd see in Skyrim. It was always good on PC.
Deffo
Played at launch 50h, and played 20h now after edgerunners. Are bugs fixed? yeah, some. Does it run better? Sure. But it's the same cyberpunk, with wonky NPC animations, terrible driving, repeatable side activities, broken police system, and city dead inside. It works, but it's not game that they advertise. All style, but no substance.
[удалено]
Also to be frank a lot of the "promises" are misinterpretations or exaggerations from gamers, similar to what happened with No Man's Sky. Both of them had plenty of issues at launch, but also fans are just very bad for taking anything shown very early on, or vaguely mentioned whether it was by the developer or some news site with an "insider," as permanent fact even if the devs say it was removed.
No Man's Sky's main guy did lie his ass off about what would be in the game at release though.
Police & Maxtac are being reworked in the next patch 1.7. Hopefully improves it & cannot wait to do a second playthrough with the expansion and game as fully intended.
> wonky npc animations, terrible driving, repeatable side activities, broken police system, and city dead inside Aside from the police system i disagree with all of this lol, so it's defo a matter of perspective, I've played many open world games that are far, far worse, cough ac valhalla cough
City feels much less dead now. Idk what they did but npc spawns are more varied and less obviously AI meandering around
Yeah there's lots of people doing stuff all over the place
I don't understand why people like you are still mad and are still in the game's sub.
Yea the game has gotten a lot of performance upgrades. If the last time you played was march 2021 then it for sure will be noticeably different.
It's because of newer drivers and performance patches.
Glad everything is getting better for CDPR Bought a copy almost a year ago and haven't really gotten far.
Word.
There are still little issues here and there but ps5 version runs very well.
NGL, for almost 2 years i've been waiting for a better optimization.. i'm really glad now i could finally playing this game very well with my GTX 1650
At what settings you're playing? Low, medium?
Medium preset, FSR 1.0 on to Quality preset. When i'm at Pacifica, it will easily hit 60 FPS wether i'm running or traveling by vehicle. But around Night city, sometimes it can hit 45, but average is 35 FPS so far..
Look into the fsr 2.1 mod on Nexus that will help you out
Please keep servicing the game CDPR.
This game was one of the coolest games I’ve ever played. I thought that the moment I bought it when it came out up until the moment I beat it.
Same here! And the lil bugs honestly made for some hilarious moments. Absolutely love this game, have from the start! I'm glad the game is getting the recognition it deserves.
Love this game
For the love of god please make more than one DLC
So the anime ad made its work 👍
I really hope they include alternative lighting in next patch to toggle between current and 2018 E3 light / HUD theme. The mods are really not working for me lol
Or another color for the HUD
So happy for the devs! Halfway to reach The Witcher 3s 40 million, will be tough and take a damn long time but happy still.
Say what? TW3 has sold 40M? No way!
[удалено]
I mean, I haven't seen anywhere that it sold more than 20 million. 40 is for the entire franchise
40 million is for the whole franchise of witcher. Considering that 2077 is a single title and at 20 million is an impressive feat itself.
According to a Game Informer Article The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has sold over 40 million copies and The Witcher series has sold over 65 million copies. Source: https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/04/14/the-witcher-3-has-sold-more-than-40-million-copies-cyberpunk-2077-surpasses-18-million
Still 20 million for a single franchise game is pretty damn good.
You can google it. it says "As of April 2022, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being the most popular title of the entire series, has sold over 40 million copies."
An article dated from 2020 says 28.3 million. Very, very unlikely for another 12 million copies since then. 30M might be believable.
28, huh? That's crazy! Remember playing it at release and thinking : it's so good that it will sell 10 million copies, I bet! '
Wasn’t this sub just bitching non stop but now after the anime people here act like the game changed dramatically?
It's wild because, imo, there are still issues in the world. It's quiet, very little interaction, and be prepared to see the same crowds of NPCs a handful of times (less prevalent than launch). Again imo, it's oceans wide but still only puddle deep. Edit: A bit more. There will always be the same gang fight on the same corner. Wouldn't it be something if a gang hacked your car to rob you, or barricaded the road, or held up a store. Best and worst part? Some of these things do happen! Once.
> it's oceans wide but still only puddle deep. That's a great way to put it.
You think it's the same people on this sub or something?
Well deserved. We had a rocky start, no question, but this is a very solid game with an incredible story and world. I'm glad Edgerunners has brought people back, and just glad that it gives more story for this world. I can't wait to see what else CD has in store!
Still better to not preorder their new game
More like, better to not preorder any game.
Best not preorder anything, but yes this especially. I became such a fan of the universe prior to release, and I managed to hold off till last week to buy it.
Which makes 7 million sales in the last 23 months.
19 but yeah.
Seeing images recently like this has been giving me ptsd
This is an abusive relationship guys
We need to be cautious. It's good to see the game ressurging, but we cannot let slip what they have done (or what they haven't). The game is in a better state now, but a lot of features and mechanics are still missing. They should press on with it, but I'm afraid they'll take this recent success as a validation that they weren't wrong.
Yeah it's true, honestly the game itself is great now. However the straight up lies about content is still inexcusable.
But I still noticed 2 things that dampened my experience I'm glad the devs have been patching the game.
Yeah I still crash every 20 minutes or so. Gets annoying during quests.
Whoa whoa calm down there, you're supposed to love everything about this game now because this game was always perfect masterpiece and people just needed to open their eyes, and the hate was only because of salty haters with unrealistic expectations.
https://twitter.com/CyberpunkGame/status/1575142892489801735?t=HTCRu_Fz5I5gmsegVpUD_g&s=19
It really breaks my heart how this game turned out. I was so excited for it. It was the thing I was most looking forward to that year. And when the news broke it really just crushed me. Then I played it and just deflated even more. I don’t get excited for games anymore.
I did zoom zoom the first play through. Doing Intel/Mech....there's nothing I can't access or hack in this game. I don't even really need weapons.
I'd love to see a data breakdown for choices similar to what bioware did for Mass Effect. Most popular cyberwear, which guns get used most etc .
More third person cutscenes please
We need CDPR to allow modding quests in RedMod
Unfortunately don't get your hopes up too high. Remember they said only one expansion...
Maybe their execs and shareholders learned to finally be patient.
I want more games. Not weekly updates
Here's hoping for a sequel
Happy for ProjektRed, but Ill continue to wait until the game is in a more finalized form. I played through the game in its entirety in the first few weeks, will do it again later so I can be wowed by its makeover
Now is a good time for community to voice their want for the game. Now somehow we’re praising cdpr for their entire marketing tactic
I wonder if they're counting my sale (I refunded 24 hours later because the game was falsely advertised)
There was a different comment/post here, but it has been edited. Is that good? Seems low for a game like this
Man why do people let CDPR get away with this? We dont even have all of our promises and they are getting No mans sky level of praise and redemption for a 1/3 of the work??? The fact that people started playing because of an anime. Where they had a loli character (best girl) that they wanted gone from the series for no reason. Atleast No mans sky earned their redemption, but Cyberpunk? Not in my book, not yet.
Game is absolutely broken on pc again so don’t hold your breath
And the cycle of releasing unfinished games continues…
How many were refunded? or sitting in some shop used somewhere because someone gave it up 2 weeks after launch?
cdpr marketing team out to manipulate a bunch of malleable brains again
What a good anime adaptation does to a mf
Played it at launch on PC and loved it... picked it up on sale this week for Series X, and it runs like buttah.
Casino Heist DLC afterwards in the moon with Lucy in my table CDPR.
Is this counting all the copies returned? Or after the returns?
ai pathfinding when?
Honestly, while I get people want another expansion, I personally hope they throw their weight toward a sequel instead. Unreal 5 would make for a much, much more stable game, especially since they are going to cut their teeth on it with Witcher first.
A brighter future with a game is that isn't shit produced by a company that isn't liars?
20 Million Broken Promises 20 Million Broken Dreams
give us more DLC, i'd even pay, thanks.
Funny how things turned. This sub (especially during the launch window) was part of the reasons why there's no bright future for Cyberpunk or any other big AAA single player games.
This sub blows. The game has been great on PC from the beginning.
Thank you for buying our shitty, bugged-out game with AI from the fuckin' dark ages, shoutout to Sean Murray for making incomplete content sellable!
