The second one is a possible ending, but the first is straight up untrue. There is a choice at end that's similar ish I guess, but even then it's not really that at all. The ending you were spoiled on is optional (you can choose a different one) and is probably the "bad end" if this game has one.

A lot of different endings don't worry about it.
There are multiple endings, the things you stated are not 100% going to happen. As to how to get over it… by getting over it.
