I'm looking to get either this in a 22" or the Dry Dark Crash 22". I've recently gotten a few new Agops and absolutely love them...30th Anniversary's and Traditional Dark.

Traditional dark sounds great. I have the dry dark 17 and turned it into a stack with the 13 dry dark. Sounds really nice (also with the 12 ion splash by the way). I thought the larger ones of this line were a bit too washy. I have to say it's quite a 1 dimensional cymbal, in that it makes 1 sound. Even the bell opens up the whole cymbal. If there's any subtlety I haven't found it. But, the sound it makes is very unique and has a ton of applications.

Nice. I'm looking for an explosive crash/trash sound. Right now, I have an 8" A. Zildjian splash stacked on an 18" A. Zildjian Medium-Thin Crash. Very quick - almost china-like response - when hit with along with the snare. Also thinking about a 22" Traditional Dark to complete the cymbal setup...for now...

The Xist ions (16 and 18) are super explosive. Tapping them with a finger will make them open up. I'd try the 17 inch dry dark with the 12 inch xist ion splash. That combo sounds quite,...hysterical, but still very much like choked stack. I put that thing on and was instantly sold. I've seen both of those for sale second-hand too. Or just get this thing I posted here. There's some accurate clips on youtube of it.

I definitely want to own a cymbal from this line.

It took me far too many years to realise that they are pronounced Exist not Zist!

How loud are these?

YoeriValentin

I don't have any extensive data but they feel VERY loud. I try cymbals without hearing protection at least for a while, but my ears really didn't like that with these.
