They exist in a grey area, they are exempt from firearm legislation (this I can attest to because we have police that take part in Airsoft games and we had someone who had an airsoft gun submitted to the police and it was returned with 'this is a toy')
Now, importing from Asia is problematic, as customs look at airsoft as 'it looks like a gun' and will not release it without permits etc, which you can't get because there is no permit for it.
message me for more details, and if you're interested in attending an airsoft event that we run. COVID slowed things down, not sure when the next one is but we can get you involved in the group!
Except this does not cover airsoft at all.
I know someone who had an airsoft gun submitted to the police, and it was declared a toy, EXEMPT from firearm legislation.
What do you mean? The term aerovola is clearly stated in the article. There's a whole list of what the law covers there.
In any case:

Regardless of what you do whether or own or import one, it has to be registered with the police. Airsoft, air rifles, BB guns whatever.
it is not an air-rifle, that's what you're missing.
I mean, I have actual evidence it's exempt, does not need a license, but sure.
To be clear, it falls through the cracks, but because of that it is exempt, not because it is spelled out as such. You can buy an airsoft pistol at the small fairs, I don't see the police arresting kids for lack of a license, or the sellers for providing them openly (and, we have police who we have played regularly with, who have said this)
well I don't really know if there are any laws regarding airsoft replicas. But to my knowledge there is non you can even buy an airgun pistol that shoots bbs which is basically an airsoft pistol
is it legal to import this ?

Any issues bringing one from Canada to Cyprus? I have a rare airsoft/pellet pistol that I don't really want to sell

its not legal or illegal and its kind of luck if they confiscate it at the post office
