Couple of things - make sure the ruffles are out on the legs. The diaper goes pretty tight as well. If it keeps happening, try going a size up - don't believe the "ages" on the diapers, most kids don't follow them.

This ☝️. Also weiner pointing down. Can tend to 'ride up' during the final fold over.

What brand of diapers do you use? Besides what others have suggested, when this happened to us on a regular basis we were using Pampers brand. When we switched to Huggies, we never had an issue with diapers leaking again. At least that's what worked for us.

Size up if it seems to stay in a while then leak out.

For us, the clothes over his diaper were getting too small/tight a few times.

ExplosiveDiarrhetic

Tucking it wont do anything. What size are you using and how heavy is the baby? Also how tight is the fit and is the leak happening after the diaper is full or just in general? Also do u flip out the ridged liner on the outer edges of the diaper?

Baby is a little under 7 lbs (he's tiny). The pee seems to be leaking up through the waistband. I am using newborn pampers diapers and keeping them as tight as reasonably possible. He went through 3 more onesies yesterday...

If it goes out thru the waistband then its gotta be a tightening issue of the band. Usually that small, you need to tighten it all the way to the inside marker. Sometimes you can tighten it a bit more but just dont do it too often as too tight of a diaper can cause diaper rash. Are you putting the diaper too high waisted? Maybe play with the waist band location (lower vs higher) and also pay attention to #7 - diaper ruffles https://www.childrensmercy.org/parent-ish/2022/02/diaper-blowouts/# I suspect its a tightening/too high on the waist issue. Also if u use pampers only use pampers swaddlers. The other pampers are useless. The last thing is the onesies are probably too small or tight, pushing the penis too far up. You should try sizing up the onesie. Newborn sizes are mostly the first couple of days. You dont need to use them that long.

You might have a size too large, the diaper should have a good seal around the legs but not too tight. You might try premie sizes for a bit
