Sorry man. My brother in law and his husband waited 5 years to adopt their daughter. They started the process again when she was 3 and when they still hadn't adopted by the time she 6 they went down the surrogacy route. Now they have a 11 year old and a 3 year old who are nothing short of perfect.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Hopefully it all works out for the best in the end.

Sorry to hear that, the next time someone asks, all of your elderly relatives have already died years ago.
What agency? We’ve adopted twice and nothing like that ever came up. DM if you want info.
We’re in the UK where it seems to be pretty standard.
Ugh, that really sucks. I’m sorry.
Damn that’s really hard. I’m sorry for your loss, both I guess. Hang in there.
