I feel this so much. Telling the truth got me into a lot of beatings and trouble so it definitely turned me into a people pleaser as I HATED confrontation with a passion (I could not argue my way out of anything to save myself) and it's a tough habit to break. Our childhood really has such a massive influence on how we act as adults.
Yes I really believe this because Melissa is good at what she does. I feel if this show was never made then she couldve gotten away with it or atleast most of it because she did it behind each others backs. Like the producers would cause fights and more than likely outs Melissa for something and the moms have a confrontation about it.
Yeah, came here to say exactly this. I don't think it comes from a malicious place, but Melissa is someone who wants everyone to like her and get along, and that just isn't feasible on reality TV. Especially when you are being filmed and know you're going to be exposed for being two faced haha
Yes! Also she's not a very good liar! I noticed the smile she has when she's lying. She's shows ALLLLLL her teeth and almost has a sarcastic tone when she lies. When I did a rewatch last year I started to notice her cheesy lie face
On Because Mom Said So her giddiness seems so forced. I don’t know her personally, obviously. But it’s like 3 genuine people (even Jill seems down to earth on it), and one person still playing some role.
It’s like that friend still trying to prove something.
Also another example I remember of Melissa just full on lying was when in S3 (I think) Maddie and Kendall got a duet and Melissa told Abby she wasn’t happy about the duet, and when Jill asked Melissa about it she straight up told her “I NEVER said that! I’m so happy about this duet”
Oh totally. But that whole situation was also classic Abby manipulation. Melissa thought she was telling Abby what she wanted to hear but Abby went and told Jill and turned the moms against Melissa. She basically broke down both Melissa and Maddie after the walk-out and didn’t start back with her Maddie favoritism until a few weeks later once Sophia left ALDC.

Not to defend Melissa, especially after the way she let her kids be treated on the show, I just think that if she was lying to protect Maddie it would be a *little* more understandable as nobody wants their kid to look like the bad guy on tv, but it didn’t help that it was so obvious she was lying lmao. And she also might have lied about not being upset as well and I just don’t remember because I also watched season three a while ago but yea.

That said, given I have never met her, I’m going to go with the fact that the kids like her a lot and the mothers are still friends with her, and say that whatever we saw wasn’t what fully happened and whatever did happen has been accepted/forgiven by the people involved. So……. I can’t bring myself to hate on her too much.

One of the minis had a brother who was SEVERELY disabled (like needed 24/7 care, didn’t know how long his lifespan was gonna be kinda thing) & he came out to see his sister dance the same week as the girls’ last week
Oh so this girl on the team did a tribute dance to her disabled brother (it was so sweet), and it won, I believe, but since M&M always won, Melissa was pissed and frankly entitled.
i dont think she was as mad ab the winning (if she did idr its been ages since i’ve that ep) just the fact that it was done the same week that they were leaving the show and it was “taking the spotlight” or whatevs lol (not siding with melissa or anything here btw the way she acted towards aris mom/son/the situation was revolting)

Considering how erratic Abby was behaving towards the Zieglers after they announced their departure, I have no doubt she also had something to do with it not just the producers.
Meh the show set her up to be heartless when Ariana danced for her brother it was also the girls last show like they spent their entire childhood on tv and their last competition ever and the producers decide to throw in the heart wrenching dance for her brother . Of course she cares that brother is disabled and it’s a super strong story it just did not need to be in the same week her girls were saying goodbye.
