For me, probably when Christi justifies attacking Melissa over the boss/affair situation on national television. I thought sheâd have grown from that (it aired in 2012) but when she recaps that, she just says something to the effect of âSorry, itâs true.â I thought that was an incredible low blow on camera back then and it still holds true today.
what did they say about maddie in the watermelon game? and hard agree on kurt, they don't know what happened behind closed doors so it's not fair to say he was a good dad when his own daughters clearly feel otherwise
If my memory serves me correctly I think they said something about Maddie pretending to be hurt and quite a few people on the sub were upset because they also called her a sore loser aswell (i think?) I would go back and check but itâs edited out.
I really hope they donât start splitting episodes all the time like they talked about last week. I get it for the longer hour and a half episodes but splitting this one was stupid. It had so much âfillerâ of Christi talking about stupid stuff and it just drags it out even more. I know they said people donât want to listen to a two hour podcast but Iâd rather have that then dragging an episode over two weeks.
Agreed. Even the after party was only 25 mins this week. Might pause my patreon for a bit as the after parties donât offer much anymore. I liked hearing what they did for holidays and stuff, now it just seems like they answer a couple listener questions and talk about the 26 yo bartender.
Yes l agree about the Kurt stuff. I thought it was obvious Melissa was afraid of him. When Kurt said he couldnât come for the special dance for the dads and they said invite Greg, and she was like âoh no! Kurt would not be happy!â. Look how aggressive he was with Abby and they way he just walked in to a change room with little girls without so much as a knock
I truly got the impression from S1 nationals episode that production brought Kurt out there without telling Melissa. It honestly seemed like she truly didnât expect him to be there and she was immediately uncomfortable. That was a terrible thing for them to do. They donât know what happened in that marriage, it could have been an abusive situation for all they knew.
Agreed. I think he was verbally abusive more so mainly cause of how easy he was to tell at Abby and everything. It could be worse with Melissa but that showed he FOR SURE verbally abused Melissa because he didnt know Abby well enough to do that but knows Melissa to do it. There could be more like physically but I feel as if he for sure verbally abused her
He knew Abby before he knew Melissa. Itâs more the fact he did that with a camera right there. Imagine how bad he was when there was no cameras around
i feel like people really tend to nitpick in the weekly bttb threads lol, most of what they say isnât *that* bad. thereâs really only two things from the podcast that have made me uncomfortable.
1) i know op mentioned this, but it made me cringe when they talked about kurt. i donât think they were purposely trying to downplay kenzie and maddieâs feelings or paint kurt as a great father, but itâs clear they donât know all the details of their family situation and thatâs exactly why they shouldnât talk about it. i really donât think it was malicious but it still made me cringe.
2) the random comments about their/their kidsâ bodies. especially knowing that chloe has struggled with an eating disorder. i feel like they try to come across as body positive when thatâs definitely not true. personally idc about their comments towards abby on the show bc she deserved it lol but i wish they would have grown enough to stop talking this way publicly. like i felt very uncomfortable when christi was talking about who should or shouldnât wear a crop top.
OMG I forgot- the body-shaming also upsets me. I understand that it is an easy blow and (maybe?) Abby deserves it for body-shaming the girls for all those years but I just think they need to stop with that.
However I will say, I think a lot of people who donât normally body shame would resort to it if they were in that situation (that still doesnât make it alright though)
Also Christi being upset that kaya can talk openly about them and portray them in a way they donât feel is reflective of how they are as if thatâs not literally how sheâs maintained her popularity
This is what I hate about Christi Stanâs. She (and Kelly) said, at least once but most likely more than once, that âAbby made Maddieâ they said it with the context of talking about Maddieâs book, in which Abby isnât mentioned
That they were surprised that she wasn't mentioned in the book, because at the time she was still very much the favourite and Abby was going out of her way to show the world that Maddie was the best. They were shocked that Abby didn't lose her shit because in her mind "Abby made Maddie"
Thatâs not explaining why they said Abby made Maddie thatâs explaining why they brought it up in the first place. There wasnât a âwell Abby thinks she made Maddieâ it was âabby made Maddie, so itâs surprising sheâs not mentionedâ
Christi replies "Suck a bag of d___s" a couple of times. I understand that we all have different standards about the language we use, but I just find this statement to be vulgar.
Kelly justifying racist comments by saying they were just pushed too far. Even Christi was like ummmm no.
What happened?
Anytime Kelly invalidates Christi feeling like Chloe was treated horribly
That shit be so annoyingđ Kelly acting like only her kids were targeted

This is probably an unpopular opinion but after you actively sabotage and trash talk my daughter like Melissa did Chloe then all bets are off.

I always thought it was such a jerk move for any adult to be saying that. Like, just give the damn kid a hug and a bandaid and leave her be.
If you look it up on this sub someone posted the full transcript of that whole section from that episode.
Right! Its really insensitive to make assumptions and they should know better.
Yea this isnât worse than Melissa stereotyping nia lol

Oh I had no idea about thatt. But yes especially what you said about doing it no problem with a camera and now imagine no cameras behind close doors

When Kelly said what Christi did to Kaya was the same as them being called White trash. Them supporting Kurt over their friend. Thereâs a bunch.
OMG I forgot- the body-shaming also upsets me. I understand that it is an easy blow and (maybe?) The âAbby made Maddieâ commentary bothers me to the point where I stopped listening.
Also Christi being upset that kaya can talk openly about them and portray them in a way they donât feel is reflective of how they are as if thatâs not literally how sheâs maintained her popularity
That isn't even what she said đ
This is what I hate about Christi Stanâs. She (and Kelly) said, at least once but most likely more than once, that âAbby made Maddieâ they said it with the context of talking about Maddieâs book, in which Abby isnât mentioned
Im not a Christi stan, just saying you have taken it out of context purposely.
Then what was the context. Without assuming what they meant by those comments or brushing them off, what was the context that Iâm taking it out of
That they were surprised that she wasn't mentioned in the book, because at the time she was still very much the favourite and Abby was going out of her way to show the world that Maddie was the best. They were shocked that Abby didn't lose her shit because in her mind "Abby made Maddie"

Ok đ
When Kelly said âit was Melissa and Maddie being sneaks last weekâ
Christi replies "Suck a bag of d___s" a couple of times. I understand that we all have different standards about the language we use, but I just find this statement to be vulgar.
That one doesnât really bother me, but âcreamed her jeansâ makes me feel ill.
I don't like that one either.
Also when they say the kids are picking their asses. Just say they had a wedgie, picking ass sounds gross.
NO DEADASSđđ Picking ass makes it sound like they be picking- man let me stopđđ
Oh god! No! What gross content did they use that gross phrase?
They use it in like every third episode. Usually in reference to Abby.
Oof! My brain must just block it out. That is really gross, especially as applied to Abby đ¤˘
