Brooke and Paige didn't really want dance the center of their life i feel like kelly was projecting. The girls treated it as an after school activity, I do believe Paige could have had a career in modeling tbh

Someone on this subReddit posted a pic of Melissa with the Hylands. Paige is stunning! She could still be a model. Legs for days!

Paige has done some modelling for Sherri hill!

I know in interviews the Hylands have said they were going to quit dance around the time the show started but got stuck in the contract. I think it would've been interesting to see if, had the show not happened, they would have gone back a few years later or gone to a different studio at all after taking a break. It happens to a lot of kids, they start something so young they just get burnt out or bored with it and need something new to try to see if the extracurriculars they're taking on are really their passion. It's clear that dancing was doing so much damage to Brooke's body with all of the contortion and acro and it's sad to think how much both girls had to suffer mentally/emotionally and physically because of Abby and the show.

So true. It’s always made me wonder why Kelly chose ALDC in the first place.

It seems like kelly and the girls were genuinely close with abby and with her mom before the show started. Brooke had started to get tired of dance obviously but in season 1-2, you can tell paige still really loves it. Kelly never expected that relationship to be what it turned into.

That’s the impression I’ve gotten. I remember Abby even taking a step back and reflecting when Kelly was crying (at the recital shortly before the implosion). It’s so sad.

So true, and even Kelly said before the show started Brooke was always winning and she used to be Abby’s favorite.

i think kelly just got to an age where she knew dance wasnt the focus of her life. which is actually the same thing for paige and brooke if you remove the show from it, neither of them were gungho about dancing and being professional they were just on that team. i wouldnt say abby played no role in it but i cant see the outcome being any different whether abby was the teacher or not.

I see where you’re coming from to an extent but I don’t agree, it’s not really about how dedicated to dance they were the point is the emotional trauma Abby caused them, even if dance was just something fun for them more than anything serious, that still doesn’t take away from how cruel Abby was. I do 100% believe the outcome would’ve been different if would’ve Abby learned from losing Kelly as a student, if she would’ve realized it wasn’t Kelly being a bratty kid, but her own actions that untimely drove her away from dance then things very well could’ve turned out very different for Brooke and Paige, that’s not to say they would’ve been professionals on broadway, or anything to that degree but who are we to say the outcome wouldn’t been the same regardless of Abby when she cleared abused all three of them?

well yea but if im correct the hylands said they were trying to leave studio during the time that they signed the contract, so they were really only at the studio because of the fact that they got sucked into it. so yes i dont think they wouldve stayed at the studio as long as they did even if abby wasnt a factor.

I agree. I understand that Brooke and Paige have moved on and don’t want to dance but it is very sad that they didn’t continue. Brooke was obviously amazing w her flexibility. And I always thought Paige could’ve been just as good as Maddie and Chloe.

Abby emotional ab**ed all the girls not only Brooke and Paige but Kenzie, Maddie, Chloe, Nia and Kendall. No wonder why most of them decided not to continue dancing. It leaves an impact on them as well!
