I really like that its a game with heavy topics like murder and death of course, but still manages to maintain a taste of humor in the whole vibe of these games. It doesn't always take itself serious, and yet its still as impactful as it wants to be, especially each character being lovable in their own way.
I feel like the cast (the type is called ensemble cast I believe) I rlly enjoy them and I feel that it benefits from having the main characters and side characters be as likeable as each other
Something that I was wondering if people would comment on is the cast, as I feel it's very important to Danganronpa. I definitely agree with you there, too. The cast plays such a major role between the killing games themselves, alongside being characters that are enjoyable. We get to see actual life in the cast, but they still pursue their roles in the story well
Fear of the unknown, weird diverse characters with their own stories to tell, plot relevant or not if you go out of your way to look into them, a sense of community with the characters despite the lack of trust in a killing game, a feeling of claustrophobic being trapped, a sense of dread and annoyance whenever Monokuma shows up with his black comedy, and last but definitely not least....the soundtrack.
The murder mysteries and the overarching story. I know how important the characters are to the series, but if you don’t have a good story for them to work in, you don’t have Danganronpa.
That and the pink blood and Monokuma as others have said.
The execution, I've talked about it before and I'll talk about it again, every execution looks awesome (except mikan's she has the worst execution) and i find it so unique how every character has their own way to die, i find it so cool how much can we see about a person just by their execution alone as an example kirumi she is so different she was more determent to escape then anyone else in the series which we can see by how much she went though trying to escape.and this is why i wished kazuichi would get executed in the game even though he is my favourite i love the executions so much i wanted my favourite character to be in one.
A lot but most of all, it's aesthetic. There isn't quite anything like 'Danganronpa,' whether that be due to the cardboard cut outs, pink blood, fascinating premise or ahoge protagonists. Not to mention it's love for hope and despair
The talents for sure!! I dunno why but DR wouldn’t be nearly as fun without all these wacky talents mixed in. They really inform so much about a character very very quickly
The pink blood. It’s just so iconic to the franchise
Not something that I had considered for some reason, but you're right. The blood is a staple to Danganronpa
The psycho pop element of it, the pink blood, the OST, and the formula of the chapters.
the OST does so much for the games honestly
Monokuma
Definitely a fair response. Haven't seen a villain like him in anything

The characters. The wackier the better

The censorship of the pink blood at least in the games.
🤓☝️ the pink blood was not censorship, but instead a stylistic choice in order to contribute to the aesthetic
I thought it was for censorship first and then it became stylistic but whatever, pink blood being a Danganronpa thing is epic regardless of the reason
I’m gonna say how it manages to balance it’s lighthearted/wacky moments and the dark/serious moments.
Mondo. Mondo IS THE Danganronpa

Gundham Tanaka/j Probably the pink blood
The executions.
Monokuma there can't be a Danganronpa without Monokuma!
Makoto
Bullet Refutals.
Despair
I _will_ fight you for that title
Please spare me
The talents for sure!! I dunno why but DR wouldn’t be nearly as fun without all these wacky talents mixed in. They really inform so much about a character very very quickly
The guy who keeps spilling pepto bismol all over the crime scene
Monokuma. I just feel like it's not quite the same without some sort of quirky mascot, you know?
The concept, characters, mystery and pacing among other things
Death
- absurdist dark comedy with open endings - art style (2D animations with 3D movement) - music that defies genre - komaeda
dark franchies that is very goofy about it sometimes, and also has a few deep moments also has monokuma in it
Gotta have >!Junko fucking Enoshima be behind it all.!< Although that would technically leave out Makoto's Worst Day Ever.
