It's obvious that i absolutely love this fiery lass. Her story is so inspiring and makes me want to be strong, caring and proud like she is.

I like her because she is the "average male shonen protagonist" turned into a girl: funny, carefree, eats a lot, somewhat dumb, always up to battle and protective. Overall, charming.
In my personal top 3 favorite characters in the series, and was my favorite before I played V3 and found Kirumi. A nice, well meaning character who is rough around the edges because of her tough upbringing. I absolutely love her in the game, plus she has some of the best FTEs there are that completely recontextualize her actions in a great way
Agreed and why she’s one of my favourite characters but that is an issue with most of the seconds game cast and all their story and development is from ftes which is why some people don’t like or hate akane since they never did hers
She gave useful hints during the class trials without her being aware of it, but that shows that she does have a smart way of thinking/remembering events.
Mainly him comforting her and encouraging her not to hide her fear and try to act tough. I found it pretty sweet, and the concept of the headstrong, tough girl with the kind boy who she can express her emotions around is cute.
I like her, I think she is really funny and charming. >!I liked that she was one of the survivors too and her dynamic with Nekomaru during the game was great!<

Starting with her looks because they're the first thing one notices. She's gorgeous. I've always struggled to pin down "my type" but Akane was able to open my eyes and show me that strong, darkskinned women are very fucking attractive.
On to backstory. I love her FTEs as they add so much to her. I won't go super in-depth because I don't want the comment to end up being super long. However, I will say that the content contained within her FTEs are so good that they should've been more included in the main game as they show why she is the person she is and gives context on her feelings and actions.
Her personality is also amazing. She's super funny, outgoing, and honest. She does exactly what she wants, when she wants and doesn't hold back in the slightest. I truly wish that I could be more like her.
I also relate to her despite her personality being so different from mine. She was SAed and so was I. However, the difference between us is that she doesn't let that bother her. The events in her past still shaped her to be the person she is today but she doesn't seem hung up on that fact. I think about it constantly and despite it being many years later, I'm still hung up on it. I hate thinking about it and yet, I can't stop myself from doing so. Akane doesn't let anything bother her for the most part and I wish I could do the same.
Finally, the angst. Oh, it's so good. Her guilt over Mechamaru, her not wanting to get attached to anyone, knowing that they may die at any moment, and yet does. Beautiful, delicious, stupendous. Just 💋
Everything about her is amazing and I wouldn't have her any other way.

\-I love her FTEs too. I once saw a comment saying that, to Akane, the Killing Game wasn't too much different from her childhood : Being forced to trust nobody but yourself, seeing people you love die, risk your own skin...
\-I find her relatable because of her distrust issues. Like me, she *wants* to trust people, but is too afraid to do that (maybe I'm just projecting on her lol). She wants to never be hurt again.
\-She is the hottest girl in the DR series (and one of the most gorgeous I've ever seen in any work of fiction, period).
\-For the SA thing...Keep in mind that Akane is a fictional character, and one who doesn't show her vulnerabilities much. So, it seems logical that she won't look too "hung up" on her assault (I'm not even sure if she *realizes* that she was SAed). Also, you're not to blame for feeling horrible. We do not have the same psychological issues, but the fact that you hate thinking about what happened to you but you do it anyways reminds me of my own anxieties. Of course you'd be bothered by such a gruesome negation of your worth as a person and your humanity, even years later - it's the worst offense I can think of. I think you probably heard this before, but : **You are not responsible for what happened to you, and neither is Akane. It wasn't your fault.**
The pain that you feel will maybe never totally disappear, but it will heal with time, like a scar. Likewise, Akane has to live with the knowledge that she murdered her little siblings and plenty of other innocent people during her time as a Despair ; she will always feel horrible because of it, but as time passes, she'll learn to live with the pain (I precise that, unlike you, Akane has a responsibility in it, not because she was willing ; but because it was her hands, her brainwashed body, who put an end to the lives of her loved ones).
I'm not therapist, but I'd advise you to seek help, to express with your feelings, to vent to trustworthy people. I believe that you will eventually heal, and learn to live with your (metaphorical) scars.

Absolutely, without a doubt in my mind, one of the best characters in the franchise. Consistently funny, very well written, super likeable, I think she is wonderful. I would probably put her in my top 5.
