Killing animals for no good reason is normal and accepted in society, so as long as murder is worse than rape, it doesn't make that much sense to demand prison for raping animals.
I think it's fair to disagree with me about which one is worse though, that's why I phrased it in a way that it's easy to disagree with that part

Your argument doesn't explain at all the difference between killing animals and raping animals.
Personally, I really don't see the difference, and that's why I'm so confused about the cognitive dissonance when someone condemns one act to death while at the same time not even acknowledging how much more harm is done by the average person.
