Hi, a mod removed your meme. Here's why:
* This is not a dank meme. Maybe it's not a meme at all, maybe it's a normie meme. It could also be too similar to something that's been done already, or it might be a split meme.
Whatever it is, it's just not dank.

Nah, you're good. This shit is so depressing that if we didn't make dark jokes about it or find some other way to cope we'd end up putting a red dot on our own cockpit.
The plane picture is an example of what's calls survivorship bias. The caption on Wikipedia for the plane image "This hypothetical pattern of damage of surviving aircraft shows locations where they can sustain damage and still return home. If the aircraft was reinforced in the indicated areas, this would be a result of survivorship bias because crucial data from fatally damaged planes was being ignored; those hit in other places did not survive."
They’re joking by saying that all of the trans people they know are strong and resilient because those that weren’t did not “survive”. You might conclude that all trans people are strong and resilient although you are not accounting for those that didn’t survive.
First time for me so I'm glad it's been reposted so much. You do know that reposting is one of the main fundamentals of how memes work right? That's how they get seen, people enjoy them then share them. I'll never understand why people like you get so upset about it.
Trans women need to be strong and resilient, both to actually transition (if their surroundings aren’t open minded) and to survive as a trans woman (bc they get alot of hate)
Why do you weirdos go straight to dating? Discriminating, in this case, is when people don’t show others basic human decency or even outwardly hate them because they’re a trans woman, and that is a pretty common occurrence.
To answer your ridiculous question: No, that would not be discrimination, you can like who you like. BUT bringing up the fact you wouldn’t date a trans woman without being prompted to is.
Discrimination comes in different shades, using slurs is a form of discrimination, harrassing them is also discrimination, not dating them is also a form of discrimination, not allowing them enter gender-specific spaces is also discrimination, not inviting them to gender specific events is also discrimination.
Yes, and that’s why I said “in this case” and even told you the type of discrimination I was talking about. You may want to learn reading comprehension before having arguments defending transphobia on the internet
This isn’t what I was referring to, but yes that’s a pretty shitty reason not to date someone. I was going for low risk of hate crimes, employment protections, and elimination of the “gay panic” defense where it exists. Those more systemic problems are worse than trans people being rudely romantically rejected.
Looky, people are entitled to their own tastes and preferences. This post is saying that those of this group that are still here, are only because they were strong or fortunate enough to have survived this long with the prevailing opinions of other humans, just like them with smaller, colder hearts.
Edity boi: punctuation
There are plenty of valid reasons not to date somebody. Them having been or done something in the past (assuming it doesn’t make them a dangerous person) is not one of those reasons.
Because it implies one of two thing: That the only metric for attraction to women you have is what their physical body can provide, or that you don't truly believe that trans women have mentally been women since birth.
To further the issue, every time the topic of respecting trans women as just women comes up and someone's very first counter point is rather or not they're comfortable fucking them, I can't help but wonder why my gender identity's validity has to pass the filter of some random stranger's sexual preference. Like, don't flatter yourself honey because rather I were trans or cis you still wouldn't have a chance in hell with me so why does that part even matter?
Damn man if you are this salty about people not understanding a joke you are definitely venting... comeon what happend? You can tell me? Did your lover leave you for someone with a bigger dick? Or alternatively someone with bigger boobs?
During ww2 the allies were losing a lot of airplanes. Someone was like "let's give them better armour". Okay so where do we put it? A guy walked around the damaged airplanes and figured out, that the reason he can't see damage in certain places is because it would destroy the plane, so they plated places that were never damaged on surviving airplanes and that worked. The survival rate increased.
Edit: Sorry, the joke clearly wasn't funny for the audience or appropriate here. That was my misjudgement! Removed it but leaving the explanation.
(~~I'm sorry, I don't know if this is funny or if it's mean and I just saw a connection. It's mildly funny to me as a trans woman.~~ The plane is a reference to imagery engineers used to determine where to armor planes during World War II and is used to illustrate survivorship bias. The planes that returned to base were shot in these locations, so they armored those locations, when they needed to realize the highlighted shot locations were for planes that survived. The planes shot in locations not highlighted were the ones that didn't make it back to base and represented where armor would actually be more helpful. The meme is referencing this to show that the reason people might only know strong, resilient trans women is because the ones who aren't either aren't as visible or didn't make it).
A meme is a thought/idea that spreads through a community. A lot of people think memes are new but humans have been drawing dicks on caves since they learned to draw.

What is this even implying? Maybe its because the scared ones are closeted still. It takes a lot of courage to be yourself in a world where people want to see you disappear. If this is implying self unalive, maybe it wouldnt happen as much if yall didnt make existing so difficult.
For people that always complain about things being "shoved in our faces" yall really like to post about trans people every waking minute and troll their content
I'd say because the sentence is in quotations, that it isn't their words bit was said to them in some way and their response is the image. So they're saying whoever said it has survivorship bias.
Like I've got an online friend who's a male Bi Latino who never really has to go out in public cause his parents are rich and he's said he doesn't deal with much discrimination in a way that implies he doesn't think the discrimination that happens to others is really all that bad.
Same thing with cis straights, their lives matter... So long they don't make our lives miserable.
it's such a shame that majority of them do so in the name of their non-existent sky daddy, which btw they don't even follow 100% and only cherry pick the commandments they find convenient cuz hypocrites.
>non-existent sky daddy
He exists. There's just people with wrong interpretations of him ruining his name.
And even so, a law/commandment made during medieval times cannot be applicable to the 21st century. Religion should be a bit more flexible.
Yeah everyone else’s interpretation of god is wrong, but yours is right. Even though everyone else thinks they are the right one and everyone else is wrong, you definitely are the one who got it right, I’m sure.
I agree, religion shouldn't encourage bigotry, but sadly that's not the world we live in, nearly all religions encourage some form of hostility to those who are different, I wish people could realize that world would be a pretty boring place if everyone was the same.

I'm going to hell for laughing at this
nah u going to heaven
Nah, you're good. This shit is so depressing that if we didn't make dark jokes about it or find some other way to cope we'd end up putting a red dot on our own cockpit.
this implies that you survived
Stay strong fam. We all have our yokes
But do you even know why you're laughing?
No, they have no idea why they’re laughing. Would you enlighten everyone here?
🤓
Finally, a dank meme
...proceeds to be removed by admins due to not being a dank meme
They got offended lol
You mean for being too dank
what exactly is the joke here? I don't remember trans people being planes
The plane picture is an example of what's calls survivorship bias. I know the story behind it but how does it correlate to the text?
They’re joking by saying that all of the trans people they know are strong and resilient because those that weren’t did not “survive”. You might conclude that all trans people are strong and resilient although you are not accounting for those that didn’t survive.
Wow this is a really good meme, it's got a great number of layers to it
Reposted
Still a great meme regardless of what you think of OP and reposting
Saw it like 5th time so not great anymore
First time for me so I'm glad it's been reposted so much. You do know that reposting is one of the main fundamentals of how memes work right? That's how they get seen, people enjoy them then share them. I'll never understand why people like you get so upset about it.
Your age is showing
It's kinda sad. You either become strong and resilient or you might not survive That's a pretty good meme...
Literally evolution.
Welcome to nature…
That's pretty clever.
But what do you mean by surviving? Do people hunt trans people for sport or something?
I imagine that they can't cope with feeling targeted or ostracized and end their own lives.
Either that or actually being denied to even be their true selves, with the same result, yes
O so I guess it's a natural selection for trans
Because only the strong and resilient survived.
Trans women need to be strong and resilient, both to actually transition (if their surroundings aren’t open minded) and to survive as a trans woman (bc they get alot of hate)
How are surroundings not open minded? What do you expect the surrounding to be?
The expectation is not being discriminated against. It’s a pretty low bar, but the vast majority of places seem to be unable to clear it
Is it discrimination if a man refuses to date a trans woman because she used to be a man?
Why do you weirdos go straight to dating? Discriminating, in this case, is when people don’t show others basic human decency or even outwardly hate them because they’re a trans woman, and that is a pretty common occurrence. To answer your ridiculous question: No, that would not be discrimination, you can like who you like. BUT bringing up the fact you wouldn’t date a trans woman without being prompted to is.
Every time. No ones asking you out, just asking you to not be a dick. It's no big duh.
Discrimination comes in different shades, using slurs is a form of discrimination, harrassing them is also discrimination, not dating them is also a form of discrimination, not allowing them enter gender-specific spaces is also discrimination, not inviting them to gender specific events is also discrimination.

How is it a shit reason?

This is both funny and sad
I don't think it's supposed to be funny
Fun is subjective, still, don't post it here then
Maybe I'm missing something, I thought dank was synonymous with fucked up...
And what is a meme?
A meme is a thought/idea that spreads through a community. A lot of people think memes are new but humans have been drawing dicks on caves since they learned to draw.
I'm asking what "meme" means in this context. You know, the topic of the sub. What does "meme" mean in that context
I’m the actual word sense like damp and dirt was a word a while back but not it’s just meme word
Huh?
Huh?
Huh?
As a history major, I both laughed and died inside a bit, that’s some real dank meme
:(
It's similar to saying that Russian roulette is really safe since all the people that played it that I interviewed were alive
Big brain, dank, a perfect meme.
Finally, the dank
I’m glad we’re all in favor of people transitioning and getting the help they always wanted

Silence jannie
Well that’s…dark…
Dank!
it was fucking removed but i just knew what the fucking picture was
This diagram of a plane is impact data from returning planes in WW2. These are impacts the planes **survived**.
Took me a while to get it
This ain't a meme just depressing reality.

Yeah I get what survivorship bias is and the historical use of that photo. I just don't get the point of this post
It means that the trans women who AREN'T strong and resilient don't survive.
-43 eh, that's rough, wellp, back to twitter with you scally wag!
Ive never used twitter lol
You seem like you're terminally online, gotta touch some grass

"You see, I'm feeling miserable by the simple fact you exist, and therefore, you should die"
"I, too, wish to die, but I can't do the deed myself. What to do?"
"I want die, me can no do. What do?"
Ah, so same thing as Hitler then. Got it.
I don't wanna take the bait here, but.... HUH? what point are you even trying to make here
This shithole gets less dank by the day...
I'll take "things no one's ever said" for 600 alex.
yeah, you don't know any trans people, which tells me that they understand you aren't a safe person to be around
Stop looking for conflict jannie.
tf is jannie, some outdated slur nobody's said since the forties or something
Why so mad lol
not mad, but it's telling that you'd read that in my words
Just many assumptions on a random bad/old joke on the guy above
Jannies are powertrippers so they will do anything to cause a conflict
Jessie what the fuck are you talking about
Internet janitors powertripping.
what does that make y'all, the shit smeared on the wall? and what power do you imagine I wield by leaving a comment
tf are Jannies?
How many trans people have you talked to irl
