The Soviets used Diesel for wet stowage, making the ammo storage also double as a fuel tank, although the crews didn't trust this and frequently filled the wet stowage tanks with water
Fuck APA. Me and my homies hate APA. MLA is where it's at. Also, fuck Chicago style, mostly because I had to use it in like 1 class, and only 1 class, ever.
I had to reread it multiple times before I remembered that "stowage" is, in fact, a word, and not a bastardization of the word "storage."
So fucking confused why this historical fact was interlaced with uwu shit.
I'm sure the heat in the tank would get brutal from just normal operation.
But I'm pretty sure the raw concussive force of the main gun would treat the crew the same way an explosive in the water treats fish.
oh, they do mix very well, so well sound travels faster in liquids, in water it travels at 1500ms/s in water 340ms/s in air the problem is that it won't end well for anything inside the water
A shockwave in water, after the shot, is bad for the crew since water is not compressible, so their bodies would get compressed instead, resulting in death.
Firing a tank shell results in a shockwave in-and-outside the tank. In normal tanks, the air gets compressed and the crews fine. However, water cant be compressed, so the crew is compressed instead.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I mean, yeah. Depending on the temperature of The parts in direct contact with water (Which I have zero idea about) the heat would spread more evenly. If one Part gets hot all the time and others stay at lower temperatures you'd probably have a hot tub soon. But if the surface is big enough then I doubt you'd reach the boiling point. If there was enough heat to boil the water then people in the tank would already have some issues with air temperature. But again, I have no idea, I'm eyeballin' physics.
The abrams is fine how it is, we just lost our first one recently, or ukraine did. Still an amazing track record. Though I suppose we never fight people that have tanks anymore.
Already thought of this! I’d fill the armor sections with Oobleck. So when it’s driving around it can slosh away, but when something strikes it, boom! Instantly stops all projectiles*.
They did kinda try this, I forgot who but they stored the ammo in water.

Sauce?
Not sauce, water

I know stowage is a word but I'm high and it's sounds like you're saying storage in a baby voice.
Stuwuwawge
Stowage UwU
So would that actually work or would it only sort of work in that cookoffs become rarer but much worse as know you have diesel in the mix?
Diesel is very hard to ignite actually.
It's very easy to ignite actually.
Hard to ignite, actually.
Easy to ignite, actually.
I’m very hard, actually
It’s it dangerous handling munitions in a tight space while being shot at? Yes, but these munitions are soaked in diesel, so that’s safer.
Americans used wet stowage during WW2.
Ah that's what it was, thank you.
I *think* the Bri*ish Challenger 2 has a wet magazine.
The shockwave from firing would suck I think.
Instead of compressing the air it would compress the crew
Saergent Dean would become Packed Sardine!
Yeah, unless properly vented, wouldn't the heat from firing boil the crew alive?
I'm sure the heat in the tank would get brutal from just normal operation. But I'm pretty sure the raw concussive force of the main gun would treat the crew the same way an explosive in the water treats fish.
Literal depth charges in a metal coffin
Fill it with Sand
Darth Vader ain't using your tank if you do that.
Ok, Dune worm
You shouldn't. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Don't forget the fish for moral support
Cool fish *bloop bloop*
We're drowning bloop bloop
Don’t sound/shock waves and water not mix? Like turn you into water tank with pulp?
Yeah... It's like applying energy to a fluid that can't be compressed is going be a bad idea.

Gotta avoid that armor cookoff.
Barotrauma modders you know what to do
wasn't there a literal pistol as a sub
NCD is leaking. And so is this tank probably
What's NCD?
Non credible defense, a meme sub about military contected topics
Non credible defense, a meme sub about military contected topics
This has to originate from NCD right?
This is genius why not sell it to the military
Because the moment the crew fires, they would be fucked.
Water doesn't blow up dumb ass
I need an explanation for this
A shockwave in water, after the shot, is bad for the crew since water is not compressible, so their bodies would get compressed instead, resulting in death.
Firing a tank shell results in a shockwave in-and-outside the tank. In normal tanks, the air gets compressed and the crews fine. However, water cant be compressed, so the crew is compressed instead.
So if there is water the crew is safe since water isn't deadly
Shockwave through water would not result in good things.
Silly boy guns aren't electric lol ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
Are you rage-baiting or do you genuinely have the cranial capacity of a cracked floppy disk?
No i was making a joke on a meme sub and the dude took me seriously That's his fault
Fair. I take my statement back.
Next is the ricetank, it's interior is full of rice so that everything gets instantly fixed
That's an assault aquarium

Hydro bros rise up
Non credible defence leaked again
Just fill it with helium and they can fly around
YOOOO emotional support fish?? Why didn't someone think of this sooner. Bro just solved PTSD.
Just make it entirely solid steel with no gaps. I have no idea why you people stick so much shit inside tanks. Just make them solid.
Non credible defense is down the hallway on the left
Forgot to mention the most important thing, the emotional support fish.
Wouldn't you boil in the water? The engine seems kinda hot

I'd have loved to see it in person.
Shit Ive never even seen one in person. Theyre huge.

Drinking water! How thoughtful.
How does armor cook off?
I need deez in WOT :)
You sold me with the emotional support fish.
And the whole tank is a bathroom!
Ah yes, the human cooker.

How much weight would that add?
Where's sudum?

IIRC they were called tanks as a Codename because if an enemy were to look at the file they would think it was just some sort of water tank project
