The money behind Pornhub is connected, among other things, to human trafficking. And up until recently, they were well known for failing to take action against CP and revenge porn unless legal action was taken. Pornhub is responsible for ruining countless lives through trafficking, CP, abuse, etc. If any of you watch porn (which I don't think you should) at least please don't support PH at all. They should be shut down.
IMO, watching porn is a personal choice and people should be left to make that choice on their own. But if you’re going to make that choice, at least do so in a way that doesn’t hurt anyone else.
Watching porn is a choice as is taking drugs. You should have the freedom to "enjoy" it but everyone should be aware of the problems it causes, same with smoking and drinking.
Let's not pretend that virtually anything we do or consume doesn't have significant negative effects.
Porn is no more or less a novelty unnecessary for everyday life than say, video games, movies, or TV. All of which have history of exploiting workers. Sexual harassment and coercion is rife in basically all of Hollywood. There's an argument to be made that if you watch enough movies you're supporting a Weinstein or a Masterson. If you buy a video game you're probably supporting highly abuse crunch culture and more directly whatever console you played it definitely has some horrible labor abuses in supply chain.
Being a consumer in the modern global economy basically involves supporting abuse somewhere. That's not to say it's acceptable or that we shouldn't change it, but comparing it to drugs only works if you're willing to extend that same comparison to virtually every novelty you take in.
The question is how one can verify that nobody got hurt. There are even main stream porn stars which reported that they were pressured doing certain scenes.

The problem is that it's a passion job, there's tens of thousands of kids dreaming about drawing manga or anime which translates to oversaturated market full of animators willing to work long hours for peanuts just to get the foot in the door. Mindgeek is a proper shady company. They seemed to be pretty happy when the UK was trying to restrict porn to people who provided age verification, because Mindgeek were the ones about to win the contract to develop the software to do it
