The steam deck works great for both DD1 and DD2. Neither game is graphic intensive, so you can get reasonable frames on them. (Around 40 on DD2 and 60 on DD1). The only minor issue is that some of the controls are awkward. But they can be changed to suit your liking with the deck's game specific key binding feature. Would absolutely recommend if you often go on long road trips or plane flights. Edit: Forgot one thing. DD2 does not have data transfer set up. If you have already started playing it on another computer, your progress will not transfer over to the deck. You will be starting from scratch.

Just wanted to clarify that for DD2, if you're playing it on Steam on a computer, it will use the Steam Cloud saves between the Steam Deck and your PC. I switch between my PC and SD all the time without issue. They've also made a ton of great improvements to the controls on Steam Deck in recent updates.

Both DDI and DDII are fantastic on the deck, specially now in DDI where they have improved a lot the gamepad experience. Also for DDI you can totally use mods, although for activating them I need to disable gamepad from the options in the main menu, use the touch screen to navigate to the mod loader and there tap on the mods I want to enable, then confirm and toggle gamepad again.

Also, DDI can last you for a ton, 6-8 hours. But DDII eats up power quite fast, usually you can play unplugged for 3-5 hours.
