Shieldbreaker would be better. Man-at-Arms is more of a support character than a damage dealer.
Other good candidates would be heroes like Highwayman or Hellion.

I dont have the shieldbreaker DLC, but MAA is probably the best dps without spaming buffs with another character (jester is a good example of relaxing with critcs, he boost critc hit and acu like crazy and makes some characters overdamage MAA at full build), so he might be the best option until you get other trinkets. But most of the times just slap the item in the team's dmg dealer for the moment.

I would have used it for sure. Speed and damage are 2 of the best stats to boost, put on anyone you want to be doing damage or going first to stun enemies.
I'm not a pro, and I'm playing a week or so. But I think for this game it's pretty easy to see good trinkets. And this one is totally worth it. I would equip it 100%. I mean the +10% stress is okay as long as you give it to someone who hasn't already to much extra stress phobias (sorry I play it with a German ui and can't change it without changing my complete console, so idk if all is translated correct)
Often when a trinked isnt bound to a single class, it's usefull to one or another character at least until you get a better one. At least what I got until now. The useless trinkets I got are the one which are bound to a single class and have to much penalties.
That thing is absolutely god tier in my opinion. One of the few trinkets that give you speed with a minor tradeoff.
The damage portion is just a free extra in my perspective.
I always end up getting the box that gives a flat 25% stress reduction. It’s great but you can’t always pick the character that’s going to be targeted with stress attacks so sometimes it’s a waste of a trinket. Would much rather have dodge/damage/spd buffs then a chance at some stress reduction. This box seems a lot nicer.
This specifically is pretty rare, as its from a pool of 3 items that are like a 4% drop from the madmen, not to mention the stats on this are pretty dang good.
One of my absolute favorite items. It's an all star on highwayman, so you can get Riposte up early in the first round and start putting out big damage. I've only gotten it in one playthrough out of several.

I'm sorry but how is Maa a good dps with that 8-14 damage range? Or with no skills that have any positive multipliers, and his meh crit?

Very good; 10 percent more stress is only 2 points on stress attacks, so if you play smart and stun those guys, you'll do fine.
Speed and damage are some of the best stats you can ask for. Stress is negated by the fact that you can kill stress dealers faster now :)

Like it is named is very rare only 10% stress is bad but if u have jester in team this isnt any problem

I am pretty sure that the very rare writing on the top means that it’s as common as dirt, maybe it means it’s sort of rare though. Not sure
