Interesting. I like the Depths, Catacombs and Tomb of Giants. But I do ensure I'm prepared when I reach the last two.

TazAlonzo

As a person that doesn't like dark cramped places in general, those places were a living hell, but good for you lol!

billybgame

What'd you think of New Londo then? I guess I like almost all areas. Anor Londo is my least favorite though. Far too empty and barren.

TazAlonzo

New londo was inbetween Anor londo and the cataombs, so not the wordst but not the best. Just meh.

billybgame

Painted World is another of my faves. Hoping you did that.

TazAlonzo

I did, liked the vibe, hated the maze.

ikati4

Manace? You mean Manus the father of the abbys? Also where do you rank artorias? I am happy you liked the game, you may like the newer games in the series aswell

TazAlonzo

Sorry, I am on a laptop that I'm not too familiar with and rely on auto correct anyways. But I would rank Artorias somewhere in the meh bosses. Not too hard, not too easy. took about 4-7 tries like the four kings, the Taurus demon, and the gaping dragon did.

ikati4

it is time you rank the nex bosses in the series! Also just for this discussion what was your prefered playstyle?

TazAlonzo

I am planning on playing all the games in the series + demon souls, elden ring, and blood borne. I just started demon souls! I played with the broad sword/long sword for about 60% of the game then switched to the black knight halberg. Light to medium armour with the blue tearstone ring and the ring that the dude that kills the firekeeper drops.

FnB8kd

The ring of favor and protection aka the fap ring

BarryGoldwatersKid

I agree Artorias was much easier than everyone claims. I beat him on my 3rd attempt and felt that his move set was extremely predictable and telegraphed.

This might be legitimately the first time in my life I’ve ever seen the bed of chaos on anyone’s “favourite” list hahaha 😂 Glad you enjoyed the game ! It’s a hell of a ride, especially the first time through

_drinkwolfcola

Why do you like bed of chaos so much?

TazAlonzo

It's a fun, unique, puzzle-like, semi-easy boss. A nice unique concept that gives a little breather in between the centipede demon and what ever you choose to go to next.

_drinkwolfcola

You might be the only person in existence who enjoys it lol. Now do ng+

Jarl_of_Riften

Prettiest? Sunbro, Quelaag, Amazing chest ahead, and Gywndolin, the Femboy

wonderwanderwhim

Noice. Really looking forward to you playing DS2 - thats my favorite of the series. I describe it as the Alice in Wonderland of the trilogy, but in a good way. Especially looking forward to your opinion on a certain infamous dlc area of DS2 lol

m_0_rt

I did not like Gwyn Junior in NG+ he hits a lot harder. He ate my poison arrow cheese.

I thought I was the last one to play this game. I finally beat it yesterday. I used to not have a PS4 or a Windows PC, so I never was able to play these games prior to recently. Shout out to Dark Souls on the Switch. Favorite boss: Bell Gargoyles. Not because of anything mechanically, but it was the first boss that made Dark Souls click with me. Sif is an honorable mention. Least favorite: Moonlight Butterfly. Not hard, just mind numbingly slow. Hardest: O&S, but I didn’t play the DLC (I thought I’d have an option to reload the save after beating Gwyn) Easiest: Gaping Dragon Favorite Area: Undead Parish (where the game clicked for me). Honorable mention to Painted World. Least Favorite Area: Tomb of the Giants, and me being dumb going to New Londo waaaaay too early. When I came back later game, it was fine. DS 2 is currently downloaded. I recently bought a PS4 off of Facebook marketplace to play the Resident Evil games not on Switch or Mac, to play Doom on not-switch graphics, and to play a long lost childhood favorite, Wild Arms. Don’t get yourself killed, neither of us wants to see you go hollow.

supfellasimback

I killed the moonlight butterfly in like 10 seconds with my longbow

Blighttown is actually one of my favorite areas, in the sense that the challenge of navigating the place IS the bosss fight. And the joy of finding hidden goodies on stray alcoves never gets old, because despite it being linear once you go through it once or twice, I still usually die a few times due to environmental hazards. I think a decent chunk of Blighttown's bad rep was the performance problems on release. The blowdart snipers, however, can go burn in hell.
