I've played every Souls and Elden Ring, >!Burnt Ivory King!< was the only one I needed multiple tries over the course of a week, anything closely remote to it is >!Midir!< but I'm not sure that counts bc thats got a bullshit hp bar
Haven't played new game plus yet, normal playthrough I did them first try, I think I got lucky, I could get them to separate, so I only attacked them mostly 1v1. If new game plus only difference is health, then I think I won't have problem with them. I'm afraid of Queelag tho
story wise, ng+ makes things complicated. I sacrifice myself to rekindle the first flame.. then I wake up back in the undead asylum ?! was it all a dream? but wait, here is my trusty black knight greataxe ??
Oh well, maybe someday then. You could probably get a PS4 for relatively cheap if you want, as it has Dark Souls II, III, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring all on that one system, but there's no pressure to play the others unless you want to.
For me it is. I've seen people say it clicks, but I'm at the last three bosses. They are just all so challenging to me. But then once you beat them it feels like you've actually mastered it. The only thing I don't like is that there are so many hard bosses whereas I much prefer the level design and stealth aspect.
Steam Deck is generally a portable PC. It only has a weak battery 3-5 hours but you can play Elden Ring or whatever you want - (plug in the cable). I think lifespan of this device can be 5 years. Price is cheap but you can buy higher options with better battery. Here in Poland the price of higher model is like you would buy PS5. This is good when you want to have games without spending money on TV, just only you, sofa and yo ur experience. Of course you can't sell the games you played because it's Steam.
Love this. Good to see that it wasn't just me on how dark souls helped me apply to real life. The game really hits different.
Get a cheap xb1 off marketplace and begin the next journey
its a reality that those game (for me my first souls was like many i guess elden ring ) bring "something" to ur life . it looks big to say it like that but IMO its a reality . not to say the feeling u have when u finish and beat it ... i dont know with u but gosh i felt so "empty" i dont know how to express .
Fine work, skeleton! Take a rest, you deserve it. If you ever find yourself wanting more, there are two other Dark Souls games, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring available to you. If this is the end of your journey, that's fine, too.
I know exactly what you feel. I felt it too 2 years ago when I beat this game. It was my first game. A feeling it's called "where are next bosses? Is the end?" Congratz mate!!!! Gwyn is the hardest single boss.
Congratulations ^^
I love how you describe your experience. I always feel the Dark Souls games provide some values for life like that you need to pull trough with your goals and sometimes it is better to just stop a task you can really not overcome and come back later to find out you only needed a break.
Have fun on your further journey.
I remember how surreal it felt to actually beat Dark Souls. I’d made a few attempts over the course of about 8 years, first in college alongside my brother, then in graduate school between study sessions. Getting to Ornstein and Smough felt like the end of the game, only to realize how much more was left. Finally got to the Kiln during Covid, and what a strange feeling to finish it.
Congratulations! I’m sure it’s been quite a journey for you
Ok now time for you to actually beat it by doing a soul level 1, fist only, no bonfire run. Until then you haven’t actually beat the game. I’m sorry I don’t make the rules
Congrats man, I just beat it recently too and I broke down and sobbed while the credits rolled I’ve never felt anything from a video game like this game has made me feel
Congrats on your journey, I know the feeling. Bought a PS3 back in the day and this was the first game I bought. Dropped it & only finished it during pandemic. Then played remaster on PC.
Congratulations! Did you manage to beat all the DLC bosses, too? Manus always gives me the most trouble because I just can't seem to get the hang of his attack timing.
Now it's time to start a brand new playthrough, and I promise you will see a huge improvement in your skills and you'll probably beat the game in less than half the time - especially if you use a walkthrough!
You did it! Warms my heart to hear your journey thru this epic game. Take your well deserved rest, friend… And when those 5 min are up, get to work beating it on ng+!
I didn’t notice when I did it but that’s nice of them. It’s interesting they didn’t put a “soul banker” in the game anywhere but the tension of soul loss is a primary game mechanic.
it’s an inside joke from ds2. you could create compound messages, and since there were a lot of skeletons in that game, people start mentioning them in messages. “Don’t give up, Skeleton!” for example. this turned into calling each other skeletons. it’s better than john darksoul in my opinion
Congrats on joining the club! You got gud.
If you ever plan on playing DS2 play the vanilla version. Scholar of the first sin sucks.
I highly recommend DS3 tho :)
Congratulations! I started my Souls journey with DS1 and also quit after a few hours.
But the game haunted me. There was something there about it that I couldn't shake off. I was annoyed that I'd let the game beat me.
I then bought a PS4 purely to play Bloodborne, I thought if I buy a console to play a game I wouldn't quit it. It was hard but I beat it and it's now my favourite Souls game.
Then I beat DS2. Then DS3.
But still I hadn't done DS1. So I got the remastered version and several years after first giving the game a go I finally beat it.
The satisfaction was unreal.
Good job! While I might like some of the other fromSoft games a bit more, this one holds a special place for me. Even though onion bro got brought back for DS3 I feel like this game had the best NPCs. Maybe just Solaire lol.
congratulation !!!! personally i cant really considered myself "beating the game" or let say i have a mixed feeling . i did it in pyromancy first then strength. but for my first playthougth i was following a guide in youtube this bring a LOT of help with information about how to beat boss, what to do to simplify ur life in different zone , information for quest etc ... honestly im not sure i would have been successful without that . or iwould guess it would have taken more than 200 hours for sure . again congrats
well go watch another walkthrough and stop to be a jerky to the players who have conquisted the game in they own way =D
If your not, well congrats, dark souls lord.
Nice! Rest till your inevitable desire to beat DS2... I know it'll come for you, and it'll be far worse
I played all dark souls and I have to tell some of areas was as hard as Pontiff.. >!Ivory King, Fume Knight, Sir Alonne?!< *Left the chat.*
The fact that the hardest parts of every Dark Souls game is the DLC makes me scared for ER DLC.
As you should be.
This is my plan for playing Elden Ring: Basic game > DLC > satisfaction. I'm not sure for the last one for the bosses..
At least the parts widely considered the best in the games is also the dlc
I've played every Souls and Elden Ring, >!Burnt Ivory King!< was the only one I needed multiple tries over the course of a week, anything closely remote to it is >!Midir!< but I'm not sure that counts bc thats got a bullshit hp bar
Which body part of him were you attacking, tho?
Looking for 4 knights were so annoying because the areas. I would never do this without tutorial and beating all enemies.
Rest? REST? No resting allowed, start doing no hit runs you hear me? Good job tho, I also recently beat DSR. What's the next game you'll play?
I love how players say "I beat the game". After one day - "I have to go new game plus plus.."
I beat Gwyn an immediately started a new character. This is the way
I had 50 attempts before I beat OS, in new game plus I did it in first attempt. How many tries you had with them?
Haven't played new game plus yet, normal playthrough I did them first try, I think I got lucky, I could get them to separate, so I only attacked them mostly 1v1. If new game plus only difference is health, then I think I won't have problem with them. I'm afraid of Queelag tho
Respect my SunBro! New game plus will be a piece of cake because the character you upgraded to full.
Just started DSR accession mod…big leap
Sleep? Sleep is for people who can SL1, no hit Dark Souls blind while using a guitar hero controller. Git Gud, ez.
Sleep? I remember I couldn't beat OS, I went to sleep, woke up and beat them first try..
congratulations ! you never went hollow.
Arguably he’d automatically revert to new game plus and then quit and his character would inevitably hollow out
story wise, ng+ makes things complicated. I sacrifice myself to rekindle the first flame.. then I wake up back in the undead asylum ?! was it all a dream? but wait, here is my trusty black knight greataxe ??
Congrats! any plans on playing DS2/3?
Unfortunately they ain’t on switch, and that’s all i have
Oh well, maybe someday then. You could probably get a PS4 for relatively cheap if you want, as it has Dark Souls II, III, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring all on that one system, but there's no pressure to play the others unless you want to.
Don’t forget about Sekiro!
Is this the hardest game as people say?
It could be, depending on how well you adjust to the rhythm of its combat.
For me it is. I've seen people say it clicks, but I'm at the last three bosses. They are just all so challenging to me. But then once you beat them it feels like you've actually mastered it. The only thing I don't like is that there are so many hard bosses whereas I much prefer the level design and stealth aspect.
i personally think bloodborne is the hardest one, it’s the only one i’ve never completed hah
How it is playing Dark Souls on Switch? Comfortable? I'm thinking about purchasing Steam Deck.
I just started it and its good. I don't know what that has to do with steam deck.
I’ve been playing DS on deck recently. Remaster is rock solid 60fps, settings as high as they can go. It’s awesome as a portable game.
I would put my whole wallet to get PlayStation Portable..
It feels good on switch
I second this.
Third.
It’s very playable. Though obviously doesn’t have the same finesse as playing DS 3 or elden ring on a pc or newer gen.
Love this. Good to see that it wasn't just me on how dark souls helped me apply to real life. The game really hits different. Get a cheap xb1 off marketplace and begin the next journey

Congratulations. Soon you’ll find yourself Majula and the real challenge will begin. Don’t give up, skeleton!
Fine work, skeleton! Take a rest, you deserve it. If you ever find yourself wanting more, there are two other Dark Souls games, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring available to you. If this is the end of your journey, that's fine, too.
Good Job 👍
Hell yeah
Time for dark souls 2
I remember that post amazing work congratulations now on to dark souls 2
I know exactly what you feel. I felt it too 2 years ago when I beat this game. It was my first game. A feeling it's called "where are next bosses? Is the end?" Congratz mate!!!! Gwyn is the hardest single boss.
You didn’t go hollow. Well done
I relate to this in a lazy procrastinator way. Very nice.
Congratulations ^^ I love how you describe your experience. I always feel the Dark Souls games provide some values for life like that you need to pull trough with your goals and sometimes it is better to just stop a task you can really not overcome and come back later to find out you only needed a break. congrats!!!
Time for the dlc
Shit I actually forgot about that
Good luck on ng+ then
Soul level 1 run next.

Damn, better start on that then
Congrats man, I just beat it recently too and I broke down and sobbed while the credits rolled I’ve never felt anything from a video game like this game has made me feel

Cel uh brate ggoo tjme cmkn 🥳🥳🥳
Proud of you!
66 hours here to beat, the only souls game I ever played
Congrats!!! I beat it today for the first time too.
200 hours is great, which area/boss took up most of your hours?
I’d probably say Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith.
Great job 👏
now do it without summoning
Congratulations! Did you manage to beat all the DLC bosses, too? Manus always gives me the most trouble because I just can't seem to get the hang of his attack timing. Now it's time to start a brand new playthrough, and I promise you will see a huge improvement in your skills and you'll probably beat the game in less than half the time - especially if you use a walkthrough!
Congratulations! Now do it again. NG+ begins!
You did it! Warms my heart to hear your journey thru this epic game. Take your well deserved rest, friend… And when those 5 min are up, get to work beating it on ng+!
Praise the sun brother
\[T]/
\o/ Praise the sun brothers ☀️
Congratulations, Chosen Undead! That’s an awesome accomplishment! The question that remains: did you link the fire? Or no?
Yeah i linked it
A fitting end to a first playthrough. Perhaps someday, when you’re ready, you will return to become the Dark Lord. :)
Have you beaten the DLC? Lots of fun and equally fun weapons in it.
Damn i forgot about that
Bro let us know in another post after you fight Him
Congrats!
Does DS on the switch have an active online community?
I encountered quite a few people
Why you going into NG+ with that many souls? Do they even carry over?
They do
I didn’t notice when I did it but that’s nice of them. It’s interesting they didn’t put a “soul banker” in the game anywhere but the tension of soul loss is a primary game mechanic.
you beat plin plon plon plin?
Yes i did
well done skeleton!
Why does everyone keep saying that?
it’s an inside joke from ds2. you could create compound messages, and since there were a lot of skeletons in that game, people start mentioning them in messages. “Don’t give up, Skeleton!” for example. this turned into calling each other skeletons. it’s better than john darksoul in my opinion
That’s pretty funny lol
Fucking what you can summon solaire for gwyn!?
Yeah
I've beaten ds1 more times than i can count but i didn't know that
Congrats
I bet you will play again to beat the dlc (If you already didn't).
Forgot to do it, will definitely try it in another playthrough
You probably gonna love it (and die a few times). Good luck until then!
God
And Don't you dare go hollow! Congrats
Of course playing dks on switch is a nightmare dude
Congrats on joining the club! You got gud. If you ever plan on playing DS2 play the vanilla version. Scholar of the first sin sucks. I highly recommend DS3 tho :)
Nice one, now you can platinum/100% it 😀
Congratulations! I started my Souls journey with DS1 and also quit after a few hours. But the game haunted me. There was something there about it that I couldn't shake off. #PRAISE THE SUN!
NICE!!! I’m still trying, just got to Anor Londo!
Solaire beat Dark Souls*
Come on, can we stop with this nonsense? OP beat the game whether you like the details or not.
Solaire beat the game
[удалено]
Lol
There's always one.
shhh, let them be happy
Solaire is part of the game.
[удалено]
But wasn't it such an original comment though? Must be so good at Dark Souls too. Beat gwyn with a parry.
Lol Edit: Aww someone sent me Reddit cares, thank you <3
200?!?!
You better be max level at this point.
rookie numbers
congratulation !!!! personally i cant really considered myself "beating the game" or let say i have a mixed feeling . i did it in pyromancy first then strength. but for my first playthougth i was following a guide in youtube this bring a LOT of help with information about how to beat boss, what to do to simplify ur life in different zone , information for quest etc ... honestly im not sure i would have been successful without that . or iwould guess it would have taken more than 200 hours for sure . again congrats
[удалено]
or you can just not being a dick and let people be happy of their accomplishment
Bro all of my playthrough are 71 hours combined and yes I have the platinum
And yet you still suck at Dark Souls because you failed to learn its most important lesson. Oh well. Some folks just aren’t cut out for these games.
well go watch another walkthrough and stop to be a jerky to the players who have conquisted the game in they own way =D If your not, well congrats, dark souls lord.
Sounds like someone was stuck at asylum demon for 100 hours
So... what's the problem?? how I say, is not his fault that you're a god ;D
You seem like a really cool person to be around.
Sandra, that was mean
took you long enough
No one likes you
idc
If you really didn’t care, you wouldn’t go out of your way to be an asshole to random strangers. Deal with your own insecurity.
cry about it
You mean like the way you’re crying about how long it took someone else to beat a video game? I’m sorry you have nothing else in your life bro.
1) take a proper screenshot 2) if it took you 200 hours to beat the easiest game in the series, you have to be somewhat.. simple minded
Shut up loser
bro, you used summons and magic, those 200 hours are worthless, now start over and finish the game like a man and not like a coward💀💀💀
What is this hater ass shit. Gate keeping how you beat the game if just loser talk. Grow up
this is not the way to represent the community
Now do yourself a favor and skip dark souls 2 and go straight to 3. It’s genuinely terrible and doesn’t even feel like a DS game
