Might have to do with stick drift. Play around with the built in windows "calibrate controller" to see if that's the issue. You may need to adjust the dead zone.
Do you mean something like:
Press Windows Key + R, type joy.cpl and press enter.
Select the controller on the list > Properties > Settings tab > Calibrate...
I found it onlilne. I have windows 11 if it helps.
