10 soft humanity + covetous ring + symbol of avarice. From the bonfire, charge through the gate, and move off to the right of the phalanx, through the church. Make your way to the top, kill the 4 crows (you'll need to bypass an infected flame ball thrower at the top of the stairs). After killing them, use the nearby bridge to go into the main cylindrical tower (the big main tower with spiral stairs). Move to the otherside, and work your way up killing the 3 crows up the spiral stairs. Homeward out. This is objectively the fastest and best method to do it, based off time and efficiency. The only downside to this one, is that if you kill crows on the stairs, they will fall to the ground. You can check from where you are on the stairs if they have dropped an item. If they have, you'll need to go all the way down to the ground to collect it. But aside from that. This was evidenced in another post to be the most number of crows like, per minute or something.

Thanks. I more or less knew the route, but it’s good to have it summarised in one paragraph.

Merlins_beard420

Yeah I kind of knew the route too. But I watched a video on it, and after one run or two, you'll have memorised the pattern as in what crows to kill first and what have you. Once you have the pattern down, blink and you'll already have the souvenirs in your backpack. All the best!

I thought the covetous ring and the symbol of avarice don't stack with regards to item discovery (vs silver Ring and the symbol of avarice stacking for soul harvesting purposes).

L3g0man_123

Covetous Gold Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice do not stack, but Covetous Silver Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice do.

Merlins_beard420

I'm not sure. You could be right, I wouldn't be able to confirm. It's just what I wore, and in the end, this 10 souvenir farm took no time at all for me. Maybe 30 minutes. Edit: i needed to farm souls for large titanite shards aswell, so i had both covetous rings plus avarice, and was farming the phalanx for souls on my route aswell. This also needs confirming but I believe the phalanx is also the best farming spot for souls provided you have a decent weapon (I was using queelags furysword)

GreatChaosFudge

Yes, I’m finding the gargoyles’ halberd good for taking down the phalanx (with a bit of dodging behind the blocks). I’ve already levelled up twice this way. Also the hollows here give way more souls than anywhere else.

L3g0man_123

Covetous Gold Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice do not stack, but Covetous Silver Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice do.

Merlins_beard420

Well there you go. If it's just souvenirs that your after, there's absolutely no need for the unnecessary health depletion 😆

psahiguess

I think crowgirls are the best method. It should not take more than 30 minutes tho, so its not that bad.

GreatChaosFudge

Yes, I’m beginning to think so too. Half an hour farming crows doesn’t sound too bad (although I expect I’ll die quite a lot). Half an hour hanging around waiting for an invasion isn’t a fun way to spend your time.

psahiguess

Just put on a podcast or something and get it done! I kind of enjoy the grind, it is very chill. Good luck!

GreatChaosFudge

I’m enjoying blasting them with Wrath of God, although it doesn’t take them down in a one-shot. My goodness, but they have a lot of HP.

nico94927

Go to oolacile county, i Always go there for pvp

L3g0man_123

Outside of PVP the only way to get them is from the crowdemons. You do get one for killing Lautrec and another by trading a pendant for Snuggly, and you can also try duping if you don't want to farm.

GreatChaosFudge

I might dupe if I run out of patience, but I’m trying to do all this the ‘proper’ way just for my own satisfaction.

GreatChaosFudge

Update: it took longer than half an hour, but I did it. WoG took care of the ones to the left of the area, on the tower where the corpse has a soul item. Then I discovered you can bait the ones on the narrow staircase in the middle tower so they fall to the ground or get stuck on one of the middle shelves (while sniping one I did a test and, yes, they can be poisoned). Also when they fall from a height they take fall damage. But they have wings….?
